Dizzy, glad to hear some good news about Mustaine. I was bummed when he got hurt.

Simon, nice tunes on your site. The first one was good enough, but the second song had me with the bounce :) lol! Great tunes! I almost broke my neck getting that picture of Joe and his mom. lol! I stood up on one of the seats to get a clear shot. What I forgot was that the seat cushion was not stable, so when I went to change my foot position and put to much weight on the back of the seat, the seat cushion flipped up and I was sucked down between the back of the chair and the cushion part. OMG it was the funniest thing ever!! There I stood, stuck IN the chair, one foot in front of the other, and had to wedge my legs out of it. I can only imagine how funny it was for anybody who seen some girl (me) pop up out of nowhere, then quickly disappear. lmao! I was a tad embarrassed, but it was just sooo damn funny! I had to hand the camera to my husband to get the shot of Joe and his mom. She was so sweet. I had the pleasure to talk to her for a few minutes. She's very proud of her son, and just looked so jazzed to be there and mingle with us all.

zinc, I had that sooo backwards. lol!

Stevee, it's crappy and cloudy here too, and it's sucking the life out of me! lol! But hey, it could be worse. It's floodin' down in Texas...

Prayers to the people in Texas.

cuthbert - I was thinking about this "universe being only 6000 years old" thing..

it raises an interesting question....

the visible universe from Earth is something like a few 10's of billions of light years in every direction....

and that's not the extreme edge of our universe.. just the bit we can see and measure....

high energy gamma ray sources have been detected at around 50 billion light years away. These are highly focused 'jets' of energy streaming out of the poles of ancient, massive, rapidly rotating stars as their cores collapse into black-holes shortly after a supernova event....

sorry bro... but the 6,000 years thing just don't sit well with my understanding of the Earth, the solar system and the little fragment of the universe that is known about...
I'm not trying to trigger a religious debate or start some kind of pissing contest... but stuff like this makes me think. "well how can this be?"..
and that triggers me to search for answers....

Zen - check your e-mail..
jazzy - the greatest cause for a big ego is in fact actually having a big dick... knowing it's big.. and showing everyone...

then it'll be perfectly reasonable when everyone one says..

"man... xxxx is such an egotistical ass-hole... but jeez.. seen the size of his dick... it's pretty impressive.."

if I had a big dick I'd have a big ego too... and be proud of it... lmao..

slansh - the across the pond thing confused me.... across the pond to me means the other side of the Atlantic... but you know I'm English and living in England....

when I saw that I was like "huuuh???" lol...

zinc - when telemarketers call I just tell the in a nice polite voice... fuck off I'm not interested...

and if we all lived on Pluto we'd die before our first birthday... no party... no cake.. no pressies... no birthday BJ...

Pluto sucks....

optical - lmao.. The Baptist.... lmao.. this track is really really tough... Sunday night I was sitting listening to the lead parts in little sections trying to learn it.... it reminded me of me 15 years ago trying to learn all the Malmsteen, Satch and Vai stuff... lol... but I'm trying to learn me... and guess what... I'm really struggling with it too.. lmao....

when I cut that solo on the demo I must have been in tip top form... cos it's a fucking nightmare..... and trying to play it is putting me right on the ragged edge....

but then... that's the place to be.. lol..

So did I miss much- ha ha ha ha............... ;-)

So I've lurked on the odd occassion but I thought I raise the post count by another one.............

Zinc Master Nice jokes man.................. on the telemarketing, my sis-in-law dealt with a call from a promotions agency telemarketer who was very rude to her, basically she wouldn't put him through and when she asked what it was in connection with he said that it was none of her business, that he didn't have to tell her and then hung up. Well she's a fiirey little thing, so she rang directory enquiries, got the number of his company, rang up and said 'Could I speak to Gary please'................. he's like 'Hello ?' and she says (very politely) 'Hello this is Justine from *****, I spoke to you a minute ago and I've just rung up to tell you what an extremely rude and ignorant little man you are'............. he's like 'Okay, thankyou.'. in a sheepish voice.............ha ha ha man, she put him in his place and all without being rude or swearing.Nice work!

Michelle Hi ya lady ! ;-) I don't know how you find the time/energy to carry on your posting rate and still stay so beautiful ;-) Give my regards to Cap'n Morgan !!!!!!

Cube Never mind posting in here bro'................ get your live journal updated !!!! ;-)

So it looks like Mikey as lowered the post count a bit ? I've been finding it hard to find the time to get in here so I know how he feels. I don't think I'll be posting regularly but I'll be lurking, feel free to e mail though. 'Hi!' to Clarky, Slanshroom and Tastey (is Stace still around ?) and Martina it's nice to see you back again :-)

I've got to try to pull a Do The Stu ................. the font of all knowledge lives and breathes ! Nice one Austin.

Hope all you guys are good. Be nice to each other now - lmao

clarky- 6000 years isn't the amount of time all Christians believe has transpired since the universe was made... more the time that humans have been alive on the earth. There are believers in a literal 6 days, for whom it would be one and the same. However, the 'days' translation is an unhelpful one leading many Christians to believe in literal 24 hour periods. The original hebrew is much better translated as "periods of time". Which day in the engllish language can also mean (eg. back in my day, all we could have on our sandwiches was corned beef")

Michelle: I was going to make Pride and Joy SOTD. Funny!

SOTD - Pride and Joy

I dont like the blues, but this one's good.

Gmail is alrite. I have no problems with it. And I dont even care who hacks into my account. I dont have anything important.

On the other hand, if you make 4 hotmail accounts, you can have 1GB of space available. So Gmail isnt anything special. I think the "invite only" form of getting users is kinda stupid.

achoo/962: I find christmas music pretty creepy too.

Imagine walking in an old abandoned farm house whose residents died after a bloody murder....and suddenly jingle bells starts playing on an old transistor (and the song sounds like it had been recorded during WW2).

damn, thats scary.

When the internet breaks

1. Panic! An excited, agitated state will give you that heightened sense of awareness and will increase your thought processes allowing you to come up with rational solutions. Panic is just nature's way of putting your body into over-drive. It's a defense mechanism that gives you an edge when dealing with potentially harmful situations, such as a severed arm or the loss of your Internet.

2. Find A Telephone Do you have access to a telephone line? Early computers connected to the Internet using a dial-up device along with a hardware device known as a "modem." Since this technology is obsolete, it will be of no use to you. Instead, use your telephone to call your friends to see if their connection is also down, as you will have lost the ability to send an email or an instant message. You can also use a telephone to call 911, an emergency service that will first tell you to calm down, and then will send out specially-trained technicians to find the source of the Internet's failure.

3. Use Your Back-Up Computer It's always good to have an emergency laptop handy, in case you need to harry over to a buddy's place where the Net is still up. If there is still no Internet at that location, at the very least you could connect to a small network or LAN (Less-than Adequate Network). Laptops can also be placed on tables at coffeeshops, while you sit around with a latte, nervously waiting for your connection to be restored.

4. Install A Game In emergency situations, installing a single-player computer game can occupy your down-time. While it won't replace the adrenaline rush of intense networked multiplayer action provided by the Internet, a quick game of Sim City or Flight Simulator may distract you long enough for your connection to return.

5. Perform Routine Maintenance While programs such as Norton Antivirus have removed most of the tedium of computer system maintenance, nothing could help pass the time faster than cleaning out your hard drive, emptying your cache, or organizing your celebrity fake porn collection. Take the time to stare at your screen while you perform a defragmentation. The time will literally fly while you barely notice your separation from the Internet.

6. Turn On A Television Or Radio Televisions, strange boxes that sit in your parents' living rooms, were once used to provide entertainment, long before DVDs and Playstations were invented. Televisions have the capability of broadcasting streaming information similar to the content on multimedia websites. With a "remote control," a wireless device that is like a small one-handed keyboard, you may be able to surf a limited number of "channels," while you deal with the loss of your connection. Unfortunately, television is only a one-way media.

In ancient times, radios were also used to entertain. A radio allowed you to listen to news, sports, and music, much the same way that you listen to live streaming audio on a Shoutcast server. Like the television, a radio will only have a limited selection of listening stations, and no video. Hopefully your separation from the Internet will be brief.

7. Read People in pre-Internet times used to read "books" and "magazines", written materials once created in printable format to pass the time. Some e-books are still available on paper, and may offer a short-term solution until your power is back and your broadband is restored. If reading is not an option, as a last resort, you may wish to try doing "chores," or try your hand at cooking. While these activities cannot replace the Internet, they may be able to make the down-time a little more tolerable.

8. Go Outside The idea of leaving your workstation may seem a little extreme, but you can perform errands that you normally get parents or spouses to do: grocery shopping, drycleaning, etc. Leaving your dorm room, basement, or above-garage apartment suite, may be risky, but again, the time may afford an effective distraction from your Internet woes. NOTE: Be careful to avoid the sun, because your pasty white skin will not be used to the exposure.

9. Spend Time With Your Spouse Communicating with your wife or girlfriend may seem like a radical suggestion, but the time investment may offer long-term rewards. Spending any amount of time talking about your "relationship" may free up more Internet time for you later on, when your ADSL or Cable link to the World Wide Web has been restored. WARNING: These will probably be the longest hours of your life.

10. Use Your Emergency AOL Disk If you find that your connection to the Internet is going to be longer than you can possibly stand, as a last resort, pull out an emergency AOL CD, the one with 910 free hours of connection to the AOL service. Take the CD in one hand...and slash it across your wrist! Suicide will probably be a better alternative than connecting to that service.

Today has been so hectic...and now I am knackered...

In media we watched a documentary called "The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off"...about a guy called Johnny Kennedy, with a condition known as EB where "the skin is like velcro without the hooks". Every time he has a knock or something like that or severe friction the skin just comes away.

It was a very informative and in some places, funny, documentary following the last few days of Johnny's life.

Telemarketers / collection agencies - same thing basically.

We received a phone call once, a middle aged lady asking for our son (7ish at the time). Asked what it was regarding - said that they had to talk to him. Advised them that he was only 7 (or so). Said didn't matter - they had to talk to him. We responded, we are his parents - said so what - we have to talk to him. This went back and forth - basically, they did not listen to us. They were looking for a person with the same name, but was 43 years old (maybe if you add 4 and 3 you get 7 - but whatever). Eventually, we got it through to this ladies head that it was the wrong person, and that our 7 year old couldn't have incurred this debt legally. We tried to get to a supervisor - but to no avail.

Same happened to me once - some lady calls me about a doctor debt to a Dr. Smith (name changed) - I said WHO? They re-stated. I said I have no idea who that is - when did I have the service with him - it was at a time when I was in Canada and the doctor was local to me. There are several people with the same name as me - I said i was born in 19XX - what year do your records show that I was born in - oh - 19XX -12 years. Wrong person.

EVEN BETTER When I rented an apartment - about 4 times a year I would get a call from an equity mortgage company - please get an equity mortgage - we will give you money for vacations, fixing up, ect. I would always say sure, I could use the money and I don't think that the landlord would mind - he is pretty cool about things like that - click - they would hang up on me.
