Zinc, the rest of the lyrics -

Oh no - I saw my baby on the creepshow

Out on - spillin' my guts on the news

Oh no - I caught my woman on the creepshow

Hit me with a shovel 'cause I can't belive that I dug you

Any idea who it is now? lol! C'mon, it's eeeeeasy!

Mikey D in da house!!!

We were watching some show on VH1 about the worst metal moments. They had a piece on Kip Winger doing ballet. That in itself isn't really that funny, but the way they presented it was hysterical! Anybody else see it?

Liza Minelli for G3!!!

GuitarMiester: If you have a new DS-1 (made in Taiwan) it will leave you wanting more. Go to www.robertKeeley.com and check out his DS-1 Seeing Eye Mod pedal. His mod reduces the noise of the ds-1, while making it sound fatter, and it seems to have 40% more output. The mod is only about $50 bucks too. I highly reccommend it!

Michelle - You're slippin'. That's an easy one. Creepshow.

Zinc - State of Euphoria is a great album. Anthrazx was the first Heavy group to make the crossover with a rap artist w/ I'm the Man. Great tune.

HEY JOE, I KNOW I'M A LITTLE LATE GETTING THIS TO YOU, BUT I HAVE TO SAY, THE CONCERT IN ST. LOUIS WAS, WELL, THE FIRST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TOO, NOT TO MENTION MY FIRST SATCH CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO AND IT WAS THE COOLEST EVER. I HOPE YOU HAVE PLANS TO COME BACK. I WASN'T ABLE TO GET PICTURES BECAUSE OF HOUSE RULES AT THE PAGEANT BUT I GOT A COOL T-SHIRT AND THE EXPERIENCE WAS AN INSPIRATION. ROCK ON.

Stevee T - I don't know if an idea like that would be a good one...well, at least, I don't think the earlier suggestions (along the lines of "Who can be the best Joe Clone?") are good ideas. I just can't see Joe going for something like that.

I'm not Joe, though, so maybe he will be interested in it...I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I don't think it's necessary for you to post that message every day, though. People have done that before and it drives many of us nuts very quickly. If you sent it to Joe's manager, I'm sure he'll pass it along if he thinks Joe would be interested in it.

michelle - "Hit me with a shovel cause I can't believe I dug you"

LOL...that's a great line. It sounds like something Steven Tyler would write, but I know it isn't from an Aerosmith song...

Who wrote it?

jazzzzzzzy - "You say it doesnt make sense because you disagree with it."

I said it is not representative of the entire issue.

Logically, the argument makes no sense. If you study logic and understand arguments, premises, and conclusions, you will see that. Carlin's monologue is funny because it is illogical and makes no sense.

I did not mention my pro-life stance in my criticism of the monologue. Carlin could have said the opposite (he could have gone on about the "Liberals don't care about babies in the womb, but they want to take care of them as soon as they're born." point of view), and it still would have been illogical.

"it has made perfect sense to a lot of people"

How do you know that?

"I dont see what's so illogial[sic] about it."

He uses blanket statements that don't make sense.

He says all pro-life people are killing doctors who provide abortions. I have never killed and do not plan on killing an abortion doctor, and I have never met a pro-life person who has killed or plans on killing an abortion doctor.

Catholics don't approve of abortions. For entirely different reasons, they don't approve of homosexuality. The two issues are unrelated, and it is illogical to try to combine them.

Is the monologue funny? Yes. Is it logical? No. Does it make sense? No.

That is my point.

Zinc Master - Yes have more than "a few good songs out there". ;-) Fragile and Close To The Edge are two of the greatest albums of all time. In my mind, all of the songs on those albums are classics.

Owner Of A Lonely Heart is from the album 90125 (the name is the same as the album's catalog number). The album, released in 1983, is a "different" Yes album (just as the red album and EOC are "different" Satch albums)...it was not recorded by their most famous lineup.

Guitarmiester - "there is no reason Satriani should even be on the list at all!
Everyone go out and get the new GuitarOne magazine to see what I am talking about"

You kinda answered your own question there. Satch is most likely on the list to cause controversy, promote discussion, and increase magazine sales.

OCPS470 - The Satch / Timmons jam was recorded by someone who went to some guitar clinic something-or-other in Texas several months ago. I think Ethn Hayabusa has more info about it.

I didn't film it, and I don't remember who did. I'm hosting it because the guy who did film it took it down from the web after a short period of time. If someone here knows who did film it, please let me know (in the interest of giving credit where credit is due).

The incorrectly labeled "Heart Of The Sun" was a Satch improv recorded over a backing track that appeared on a sound page (Or was it a CD?) that came with some guitar magazine several years back.

EDIT - 90125, not 90215...

Zenfish - Those are both great Yes albums as well...but I was trying to keep my list short. ;-) If you mention those albums, you also have to mention The Yes Album. And, of course, you can't leave out Yessongs (Clarky's favorite). That one might be #3 for me.

Yuck. I hate hangovers...

But I went to see two really great bands last night - Season's End and Desolation. There were actually three bands playing but the first one was pretty dreadful...

Anyway, one of my classmates is the bassist in Season's End and I was otally blown away by them. The drummer was amazing, and their singer had this voice that just kind of sucks you in and forces you to listen. Quite creepy really...

Desolation were the main act, and in case you couldn't have guessed, were a bit like Opeth - really technical, death metal kind of stuff. Great riffs and solos, and their vocalist had amazing stamina to sing like that for an hour and a half. The only probem was that their drmmer had absolutely zero soul. He looked thoroughly bored throughout their set. Shame...

And tomorrow I see EUROPE!!!!! Bring on the cheese!!! lol

Delfino, you finished it? Shit man, you work hard! You know the bit where you're in the temple and you have to kill the prophet? I'm there right now! hehe, it's taking me a while, but I am doing it all on Heroic.

alexandre, no problem amigo! And yeah, Nuno's drumming experience also has a lot to do with his unbridled style of playing guitar, especially rhythm guitar. All the dead notes he uses and "Hot Space" come from the drumming structures and patterns in his head!
michelle, I haven't got to the stage of being up against any brutes yet (I'm sure Delfino knows more about it than me) but they seem to basically be bouncers! In the various movie scenes in the game, a lot are of "The Council" - a group of Prophets who make all the decisions, and there's always a couple of Brutes standing on the door to punch anyone who doesn't show them some ID! hehe. They're ace though.
jazzzzzzzzzy, haha, Cortana rocks, she's been given some really funny script! Apart from anything else, a woman's voice is easier to hear and interpret than a man's.....I don't know if that had anything to do with it, or if Bungie just wanted to make the 2nd most important character a lassie with big whams!
TravisHodges, the Fender sounds like a good choice. Also, TS-9's work best with Fender amps. I think if you use a TS-9 and a DS-1 together, you may find the tone easily turns to mud cause there's too much drive. next time you got to try stuf, I'd recommend trying a Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal. I use two of them and it's really useful.

It has 2 settings - boost and drive. The drive actually adds proper, smooth, very warm, creamy overdrive, like a TS-9 but fatter. The boost setting is excellent - it just boost the signal, with a little tonal control as well, so if you use it with another overdrive pedal, like a DS-1, it can give it the kick up the ass that it needs. Also, if you use the boost setting with your clean channel, you'll get the natural broken glass feel of a just-overdriven clean channel and a Strat, kinda like Clapton and Stevie-Ray. If you use the boost on the dirty channel, you get a more ballsy crunch. If you use the boost on the dirty channel with your guitar's tone wound off, you get a BB King type sound.

Guitarmiester, haha, they reckon Joe has one of the worst tones? I'd love to put that person, who compiled that list, on stage with Joe and watch him rinse them for everything they've got. Having completely pissed on their parade, Joe would mop up with taste and precision like none other.
Austin, seeing you mention a "Sound page" reminds of the coolest thing - last night my bro-in-law was lookin through my parent's old Vinly collection. Slipped inside one of the covers was a sound page from Guitar Player magazine, printed 1988. It's soundpage number 42, bearing themes from Crossroads, featuring Steve Vai and Ry Cooder.

We put it on and although it was skipping quite a bit, it sounded ace. Also, I swear some bits are different to those that Vai released on CD a couple of years ago! It's cool....I dunno what to do with it though! maybe I'll try and get his signature on it or something!

edit:

Master Yoda, it's 3:00 AM! Or sometimes 3:30, but I consider 3:00 to be the watershed!

My younger son (6 years), yesterday after a very pleasent bathing-session when we were leaving the sauna/pool -department (wife and the older son had already left upstairs):

"Daddy...do you remember that tune:
~waw-waw-waw-waaah-- waw-waw-waw
waw-waw-waw-waaah-- waw-waw-waw~ ?"
("THE TRAVELLER" from SBM)

I smiled and said: "Kyllä muistan, poikani. Mennään kuuntelemaan se!"
Edit: ...sorry, translation: "Yes, my son. I do. Let's go and listen to it!"

Life - what a nice travel...

962 - Well, I reckon 4:00am is still late. But then again, that's only if I''m still up. If I had to get out of bed at 4:00am for whatever reason (fuck that right in the ass!!!) then I definitely wouldn't say I got up late. And if you have to get up really early, at what point do you say "fuck it - there's no point going to bed."?
