Do The Stu,
I agree with everything you've said, except continous posting & Joe's Manager...will Joe's Manager forward the idea & let Joe decide? A large response from our community might be just what the doctor ordered.
Joe Clone...it would be a gas, but you're right...Joe might not go for it, but he might roll on the floor laughing when he looks up and see's 5 guy's all w/shaved heads, all dressed in black tees & pants with Red wrap around sunglasses playing Red JS1200's (which Joe will supply as an added bonus to winners, or the bass or drums of your choice).
Would you enter, if you could play Bass on stage with Joe?
Do you remember, who made the original post?
I don't want to drive anyone crazy by posting the message on a regular basis, but a month passes soooooo quickly....soon it'll be Spring, then Summer, then Heaven, and beyond!!!!!!!
HERE GOES THE MESSAGE

Zenfish,
No Frustration on my part, if such a contest should happen, and I entered & lost...it would be to the better man/woman...no bad feelings on my part.
It would be a RUSH to know you even had a shot to be onstage with Joe & his band, our playing might benefit tremendously with all the practicing...the winner, or winners would have a great fulfillment.
Life is a competition whether we like/know it, or not...survival of the fit-test...
This idea was not mine originally, but I like it, and it's not meant in anger, or to pit one against another.

OCPS470 I was looking at the Keeley mods for the DS-1 last week on his website. I see that Vai had his DS-1 modified by Keeley, I forget which one it was though. I was, and still am, considering buying another DS-1, see how two together sound, if I don't like it, I will just send out my new DS-1 to be modified by Keeley. Getting one modified is about the same price as going out and wasting money on like a Boss DS-2, or something crappy like that pedal. I have heard a lot of good stuff about Keeley mods, so I think I am going to just buy another DS-1, send it out, and pay, I think $75, to get modified. (anyone who likes or uses DS-2, don't take anything personal about what I said about it, I just hate that pedal, sounds like absolute crap, DS-1 is better)

Zenfish,
It wasn't my original idea, BUT I LIKE IT! BIG BAD MOON...
I certainly don't want to fight for it, just have some fun with it, and give it a chance. I'd think the contest would be held prior to the Stage experience via, Audio submissions.
I'm not asking you, or anyone to follow it if you don't support it.
If you don't wish to play with Joe & his band...then that's your choice...not to wish.
Music is an expression of life, which encompasses everything we experience, or hope to.... Joy, love, pain, sorrows, competition, winning, losing, peace....quiet......the highest mountain is only the highest, because of the lowest valley!
You know, how you measure up as a human & a musician in your heart...I'd love to have Joe's technique down, but I'm workin' on that.
To sacrifice your friends to meet Joe...would not be worth it...
By the way....how do you describe a Friend?
Playing well under those conditions would be difficult for some...I've played in front of, and with some famous people, and they're people too...it's ALL in our heads...the trick is don't psyche yourself out, and get in the zone...have fun...express yourself!!
I've already encountered Joe face to face...shook his hand, spoke with him briefly, and I handed him my CD, he looked at it...read the title, and immediately threw it in the trash...only kidding...he gently put it down on the table next to him...then he threw it in the trash, he's a very soft spoken, understanding, nice guy... I like him as a person, and musician.
Zenfish, you may not want to be involved with this, but would you perform with Joe if you had the chance?
Thanks for your understanding, and willingness to explain yourself....we're here cause' of Joe, and I think he'd appreciate your spirit...hopefully mine too!
Love, Peace & Happiness,
Stevee T.

hmmm...just sprayed the lizard onto my guitar...only to find out that after millions of practice sprays on random pieces of wood...that the spray-mount i was using, that specifically said it doesn't react with auto paint,....DOES react with auto-paint...so now I've got a massive mark where the bastard spray-mount reacted...
Looks like I'm gonna have to either sand it all down and start again...or...................................................any suggestions?!

Hotlicks,
Welcome to the site.
I believe...we can change anything.....
Seriously now...I believe...Ibanez Custom shop did it for him.
You can buy a chromeboy...if you can find one for about $3000 -$5000 depending on it's shape.

zenfish yes, sax players that get it are hard to find. good luckat you gig.. our gig went ok.. we played for 30 minutes all improved.. next time will be better..
Stevee T i agree with zenfish..a contest to play with joe seems childish. just go to the concert and enjoy. if your a kid that would be super cool, but as an adult it seems wrong. doyou have any music posted online?

That's right - I knew that Yes album had a different title. Numbers, that's right.
One of my favorite album titles is OU812.
There are other fun sayings with numbers/letters - that shouldn't be released as titles - too much controversy.
