i have been playing for eight years but just recently my music has beeen really smooth because i have gone from rock to metal and now arpeggio-neoclassical. i have really been influenced by you, eddie van halen, and yngwie malmsteen but for some reason my neoclassical arpeggio and rock/metal seems to be the very opposite of what i want it to sound like. my sound is from eddie, my technique is in between you and yngwie but th hardest part is trying to figure out what i'm missing can you give me some pointers on arpeggio scales? if you can i would be very thankful and mabye i will be playing up there on stage with you some day.

Zinc, the rest of the lyrics -

Oh no - I saw my baby on the creepshow

Out on - spillin' my guts on the news

Oh no - I caught my woman on the creepshow

Hit me with a shovel 'cause I can't belive that I dug you

Any idea who it is now? lol! C'mon, it's eeeeeasy!

Mikey D in da house!!!

We were watching some show on VH1 about the worst metal moments. They had a piece on Kip Winger doing ballet. That in itself isn't really that funny, but the way they presented it was hysterical! Anybody else see it?

Liza Minelli for G3!!!

GuitarMiester: If you have a new DS-1 (made in Taiwan) it will leave you wanting more. Go to www.robertKeeley.com and check out his DS-1 Seeing Eye Mod pedal. His mod reduces the noise of the ds-1, while making it sound fatter, and it seems to have 40% more output. The mod is only about $50 bucks too. I highly reccommend it!

Zinc - State of Euphoria is a great album. Anthrazx was the first Heavy group to make the crossover with a rap artist w/ I'm the Man. Great tune.

Stevee T - I don't know if an idea like that would be a good one...well, at least, I don't think the earlier suggestions (along the lines of "Who can be the best Joe Clone?") are good ideas. I just can't see Joe going for something like that.

I'm not Joe, though, so maybe he will be interested in it...I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I don't think it's necessary for you to post that message every day, though. People have done that before and it drives many of us nuts very quickly. If you sent it to Joe's manager, I'm sure he'll pass it along if he thinks Joe would be interested in it.

michelle - "Hit me with a shovel cause I can't believe I dug you"

LOL...that's a great line. It sounds like something Steven Tyler would write, but I know it isn't from an Aerosmith song...

Who wrote it?

jazzzzzzzy - "You say it doesnt make sense because you disagree with it."

I said it is not representative of the entire issue.

Logically, the argument makes no sense. If you study logic and understand arguments, premises, and conclusions, you will see that. Carlin's monologue is funny because it is illogical and makes no sense.

I did not mention my pro-life stance in my criticism of the monologue. Carlin could have said the opposite (he could have gone on about the "Liberals don't care about babies in the womb, but they want to take care of them as soon as they're born." point of view), and it still would have been illogical.

"it has made perfect sense to a lot of people"

How do you know that?

"I dont see what's so illogial[sic] about it."

He uses blanket statements that don't make sense.

He says all pro-life people are killing doctors who provide abortions. I have never killed and do not plan on killing an abortion doctor, and I have never met a pro-life person who has killed or plans on killing an abortion doctor.

Catholics don't approve of abortions. For entirely different reasons, they don't approve of homosexuality. The two issues are unrelated, and it is illogical to try to combine them.

Is the monologue funny? Yes. Is it logical? No. Does it make sense? No.

That is my point.

Zinc Master - Yes have more than "a few good songs out there". ;-) Fragile and Close To The Edge are two of the greatest albums of all time. In my mind, all of the songs on those albums are classics.

Owner Of A Lonely Heart is from the album 90125 (the name is the same as the album's catalog number). The album, released in 1983, is a "different" Yes album (just as the red album and EOC are "different" Satch albums)...it was not recorded by their most famous lineup.

Guitarmiester - "there is no reason Satriani should even be on the list at all!
Everyone go out and get the new GuitarOne magazine to see what I am talking about"

You kinda answered your own question there. Satch is most likely on the list to cause controversy, promote discussion, and increase magazine sales.

OCPS470 - The Satch / Timmons jam was recorded by someone who went to some guitar clinic something-or-other in Texas several months ago. I think Ethn Hayabusa has more info about it.

I didn't film it, and I don't remember who did. I'm hosting it because the guy who did film it took it down from the web after a short period of time. If someone here knows who did film it, please let me know (in the interest of giving credit where credit is due).

The incorrectly labeled "Heart Of The Sun" was a Satch improv recorded over a backing track that appeared on a sound page (Or was it a CD?) that came with some guitar magazine several years back.

EDIT - 90125, not 90215...

...Austin...
