Stevee T well. being a musician has nothing to do with compitition(sp). I am pretty sure those guys are thinking about what they can contribute as opposed to watch me blow away the other guy. Do you think you could blow joe off the stage? I do not think i could. i would be outclassed. but i would have fun just jamming. its the difference between mature musicians and guitarplayers. i look forward to checking out your tunes..what part of canada are you from?

I like Vince Neil's first CD, the second one is just ok.

What 2 extra songs are on your copy of Carved In Stone?

Ads Back Schwarzenegger for President

U.S. National - AP

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Californians will soon see advertisements urging them to help give Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (news - web sites) and other foreign-born citizens the chance to run for president.

The cable television ads, set to being running Monday, are from a Silicon Valley-based group that wants to amend the U.S. Constitution, which limits the presidency to people born in the United States. Schwarzenegger was born in Austria but became a U.S. citizen in 1983.

"You cannot choose the land of your birth. You can choose the land you love," Lissa Morgenthaler-Jones says in the ads.

She is a San Francisco Bay area mutual fund manager and major Schwarzenegger campaign donor who is helping pay for the ads and created a companion Web site.

Schwarzenegger, 57, has said he would consider running for president if the Constitution allowed but hasn't pushed for a constitutional change.

The TV ads mark the first significant attempt to build public support for an amendment. While polls show Schwarzenegger remains popular with voters, the idea of a constitutional change is not.

Four proposed amendments are circulating in Congress, but none has advanced. Constitutional amendments require congressional approval and ratification by 38 states.

Zinc Master: Hi! Good taste you seem to have ;-)

There's that "25 or 6 to 4", which I mentioned in my previous message and "LUST FOR LIFE", which is pretty straight rock'n'roll tune. You're copy has that "Skylar's song", which isn't on the Japanese import...and the order of the songs is a bit different, too.

I like Motley Crue, Brides of Destruction and Vince Neil.

Did not care much for Tommy Lee's solo stuff.

...by the way, Zinc man. In my opinion Vince Neil's first one ("EXPOSED") is pretty good, but more 'glamour rock-like' (excellent riffs though) ...and this "CARVED IN STONE" is more off the mainstream (in a good way)...

Death Cube, My ancestory is from many places, but I live; a hop, skip & a jump from where Joe was born & raised on LI, NY USA.

I'd love to be considered the greatest guitarist in the world, but, I've got a few decades to go before that can happen...lol, and opinions vary...seems Jimi almost always gets top billing anyway ROTFLMAO.

I'm surprised that every guitarist that's read the post for the contest isn't jumping at the thought of the chance to play with Joe & share the stage with him once.

Death Cube...you're on the tj2...aren't you? I should have from Cafe Press anyday now....looking forward to hearing it!

Peace Love & Happiness

SupaaDave i think it's just a push pull pot that is wired differently, i looked at the ibanez parts list... and both the tone push/pull pot and the volume push/pull pot were the same thing and had the same item number, i think it just depends on the wiring. and Rich over at IbanezRules has one for 19 bucks, but to me that seems a little high =/

again, does anybody know which pickups i'd need, the F-spaced or the regular, to put in my JS100?

Zenfish - I've heard of James Jamerson, but I don't know any of his music. What would be a good album to buy?

Master Yoda - "At what point does late become early?"

LOL... I'd say 4 am... If I had to wake up earlier than about 3 am, I most likely wouldn't go to bed.

What does everyone else think?

Stevee T - Joe's manager would probably pass that suggestion on to Joe, unless he would know ahead of time what Joe's response would be. I don't think Joe is someone who would put energy into a "Joe Clone" type of thing that focuses on the "image" side of music.

If Joe did a contest for bassists, I might or might not enter...that doesn't really have anything to do with my point of view here.

Posting the message on a daily basis will drive us crazy. That's happened in the past, with a guy wanting us to vote in a Dutch "Greatest Guitarist" poll and with a girl wanting Joe to help solve her relationship problems.

Maybe you could save the message and post it again once you see Joe is visiting the site more regularly. Or, every few times you make a new post, include a link to your post about your contest idea (but don't post for no other reason than to repeat the same contest info).

I'm not trying to rain on your parade here...I hope you don't get that impression. I just think there's a better way to go about getting your idea heard without bugging a few people here.

michelle - That's Shinedown! They opened for Van Halen back in August...they blew me away.

LOL...you told me two weeks ago to remind you about the Aerosmith DVD, and here you are reminding me about it. ;-) I was going to add it to my Seinfeld DVD preorder, but I forgot. I'll wait and buy it when I'm home for Thanksgiving break.

You don't have any other Aerosmith DVDs because they don't really have any other DVDs. ;-) They're WAY behind most other bands here.

I'm actually kinda bummed that this is the DVD they're releasing. They recorded an AWESOME show in January 2002 that was never released... ::sigh:: You Gotta Move will be good, but this other one would have been great...

TheBob - I think you need the F-spaced pickups (F-spaced = Fender-spaced, and the Ibanez JS body is loosely based on a Fender Strat body). I don't play guitar, though, so I'm not 100% sure...but someone here will probably correct me if this information is wrong...

...Austin...

austin james jamerson was the bassist on most early motown stuff. so any motown hits package would be good.

Just listened one of my jewels: DIXIE DREGS's "FULL CIRCLE" (-94) which was a re-union album for this STEVE MORSE's old band ...amazing piece of art!!! (I think Dixie Dregs' unique brand of Rock/ Country (bluegrass)/ Jazz/ Classical/ Blues fusion entertains musicians especially)

Zenfish: I bet YOU would like this!

I love the way Steve knits his compositions... He often introduces, builts and raises some theme which grows...and grows towards the end. His music is quite varying and usually more complex than the mainstream stuff (still not too complex for my limited comprehension).

Other musicians on this one are: Rod Morgenstein, drums; T Lavitz, piano (never is his whole first name mentioned!?!); Jerry Goodman, violin; Dave LaRue, bass (from Steve Morse Band). These guys are excellent musicians with a whole bunch of style and passion to complete their brilliant technics!

Other albums that I have from them -and highly recommend- are:
"WHAT IF?" (-78)
"NIGHT OF THE LIVING DREGS" (-79) (4 songs recorded live at Montreux Jazz Festival, July 23.-78)
"DREGS OF THE EARTH" (-80) (the first I heard from Steve Morse and perhaps still my favourite. Check out the clips!...and you can find most of these others there too)
"UNSUNG HEROES" (-81) (under the name "The Dregs")
"INDUSTRY STANDARD" (-82) (my first Japanese import, also under the name "The Dregs")
"KING BISQUIT FLOWER HOUR PRESENTS" (-97) (recorded before a live audience at Sigma Sound Studios, Philadelphia, June 17.-79)
"CALIFORNIA SCREAMIN' " (-00) (recorded live at The Roxy Theater, Los Angeles, August 26.-28.-99, including DWEEZIL ZAPPA as a special guest on his fathers -Master Frank's- "Peaches en Regalia"

Feel free to enjoy!

Edit: I've got all Steve's solos too, but it's almost midnight and I'm running out of coffein...so, perhaps next time more about those...Good night, everybody!
