Cuthbert - The JS compared to the Lotus is like Moby Dick compared to Dick and Jane. One might be better than the other, in a literary sense, but they serve a different purpose and yes they are still both just books.
RMV and its subsequent development is a hot topic among most planners that I know. This will be a landmark case and will be referred to for years to come. My personal feeling on this is that they should be allowed to develop the property, as it is their property. The restrictions then become in form of infrastructure. Do they have enough water, waste water facilities, road maitenence, etc. The problem with these large developments is the dependence of the development on the municipality. As long as the development can be put in place without becoming a burden on the surrounding cities then I'm all for it. If they are a burden then they are going to have mitigate in the form of improvements or lots of cash.

As I mentioned a week or so ago, my former employer and I are in the midst of a messy divorce. It is occupying an inordinate amount of my time so accordingly, I will be in "lurking" mode for the next little while...
Cheers to all, Andy Timmons for the next G3

Cuthbert....
Leave it to California to screw up anything.
I am in the Real Estate biz and last year I had two options to 1031 into a place on the west coast near Point Reyes. I would love to live near such beauty, but I can not and will not trade living in Illinois (corrupt and liberal state) for California. Its one thing for a state (or federal for that matter) government to help citizens whom are less fortunate. When they start giving them a vote on what one should do with one's property this enters the realm of the absurd.
It's just like rent control without a tax cap. I am tired of the homeless, poor, or just plain ignorant people feeling like they have some status because of their plight.
A woman has the right to choose. If she chooses poorly, we get to pay for it. A family doesn’t have the right to build on their land that they have owned for 122 years?
This is what years of bleeding heart liberals have done to this country. They all want money to go to school. They all want government subsidy for housing. They all want free medical coverage, and they all want to tell us what to do with what we have WORKED so hard to achieve.
I am sick and tired of mindless liberal zombies talking like they know what they are saying. If I had a dollar for every time some dip shit said he / she would do this or that if they were me in MY business, I could afford to be a liberal!
These are the same dumb asses that think a job is a right not a privilege. They feel they can dictate what a company should do with their bottom line and most of them have never even seen what an income statement or a profit and loss report looks like. They are really nice when they interview, but give them a cubicle and they think their Donald Trump.
I think it's time to have Employer Rights, Land Owner Rights, and Tax Paying Citizen Rights. F@#K raising the minimum wage, if people don't like their job, let them change it. If they don't like what you do with you're property, let them buy it or shut the F@#k up. If they don't like the cost of rent on the good side of the neighborhood let them clean up the bad side or pay what it costs to live with decent people! We can only give so much and I for one am tired of giving to people who refuse to give anything back but a poor attitude and a selfish opinion.
I still believe in kindness and generosity but, we all have a breaking point.

DoTheStu: That "Shapes of things"-cover is on that Dixie Dregs' "Full circle" -album that I praised!
Thanks for the extra info about "Sects, Dregs & Rock 'n' Roll"-DVDs!!
...and you -lucky son of a mother- are going to see them again in January... I've thougt for years that if Morse continues to work with his own band, they would suit perfectly in to that big annual Jazz-festival here in Finland that Joe participated 2000 when I saw him live the first time...in same kind of concept than Joe did: a club gig separated from the actual festival.....but especially with Dregs they would suit the festival repertory, even on the main stage! ...you see, the festival isn't all that jazz-limited. But it ain't gonna happen by itself, so now that I know Steve has at least occationally some time outside DP, I should contact the organizers and pressure them to beg Steve to come ...'cause that's something I still want to see/hear/experience before I die!!! (I've seen Morse live only once; a year ago with DP)
Hombre De Namm: "Yo essay, You missed the G twice in you’re post. Don't diss the G man homes."??

Hola Zen... If there is a ski-trip in my future it will be to Quebec this coming March 2005. My daughter will be considered for a French Exchange program in March 2006, like my son was in March 2004 (they go to a French "baccalaureate internationale" school here in Toronto) If she is accepted, then we will also return to France for vacations but maybe Paris/Val d'Isere at that time.. By then your band should be as tight as a Scotsman's pursestrings.... Good luck with your music mon ami...

JS JS - Welcome back... Where are you working?
chocoholic - Welcome back to you as well... :-) How are things?
Russell Carpenter - I don't know... I think Rubina and Slow And Easy do, but not The Journey...
Noppa - Wow...the Dixie Dregs actually released a version of Shapes Of Things? I didn't know that...I thought it was just a cover that they played just because... I'll have to buy that album...NOW! ;-)

Okay, let me clear up the F-spaced debate....according to my luthier friend, F-spacing means Fender Spacing, because gibson uses a narrower bridge spacing. You should get humbuckers for strat style guitars (RG's, Jems, S series, JS etc etc) Fspaced in both bridge and neck positions. If you get a non fspaced in the neck tht isn't a big deal, but you definitely want an Fspaced bucker in the bridge, or you might get a week sounding "E" strings.

...Just contacted (e-mailed) the artistic director of "Pori Jazz -festival".
...it was quite a detailed info about mr. Steve Morse (biography, discography, recent touring history, links etc.) ...and it was a humble request to book either Dixie Dregs or Steve Morse Band ...or BOTH (like they toured together in August 2000 and January 2001)! .....well, now I've tried...once...

Delfino Pie: I've got only £257 at the moment ...and there ain't that much goodness in my heart... so, I'll have to say: no...
...like in Zinc Master's bumber sticker: "I said no to drugs, but they wouldn't listen to me."

Delfino- if I had a spare £275 kicking about I wouldn't hesitate to donate it to your guitar cause, but until I win the lottery- I'm a bit brassic! Sorry though. :-)
Punkdude- thanks, I hadn't realised there was such an album! The Lenny Kravitz cover particularly interests me, I'm quite a fan of his (another Flying V enthusiast!)
Steven- hope you are well! Your website is great. :-)
962- have you tried out Flying V guitars before at all?

Zoom GFX-5. Multi-fx pedal. £120, last one in the shop...good deal?
i've tried it out and it sounds good, but, it doesn't give you much scope to change the sound as far as i could see. i'm going to give it another try to find the delay and other effects on it on thursday.
what do you people think?
and also any ideas on how to make the sound less distorted when playing into the computer? it becomes more gainy and horrible when going thru the computer compared to when just going out of the amp.
guitar - effects unit - amp - computer...is how its set up. and no microphone...so its a line in. using a stereo plug thingys.

Thats ok guys...I wouldn't give it me either lol.
Today the odds have been against me, I get home turn on my amp and get guitarring...5 minutes into warming up and there's a power surge...when my power eventually came back on about 4 hrs later my amp was completely screwed up...and my effects processor...
Then to cap the whole damn thing off I find a Ibanez RG-7 string on Ebay with hardcase, strap, etc...for £275 with no previous bids and 2 days to go :-(...
It just hasn't been my day...
