DCK: the haters are idiots!! It's a really cool track...its kind of like Jackson Pollock's paintings....you know, flashes of paint thrown against a canvas! If they don't get it its because its ahead of its time. In 50yrs they'll be paying millions to get the original masters haha!

What are the Canucks (i.e. Canadians not from Vancouver but from Montréal) doing? Probably booking flights down under to see Joe eh?

mikesb - I'm actually not a big Beach Boys fan, but that album looks interesting. Thanks for the suggestion... I'll add it to my list o' stuff, along with the other similar albums (Led Zeppelin, etc.)...

OME - " Is guitaristness a word?"

It is now. ;-)

JS JS - What was your presentation about?

Finals are fun, aren't they? ;-) I have mine in two weeks...

Ethn Hayabusa - You must find a way to come down to SF for the 12/26 show. It's gonna be awesome...
PFields - Sorry...I don't know much about either of those pedals. People here probably haven't said anything because they aren't familiar with them either...

...Austin...

Delfino, ok so she hasn't chilled out so much! hehe, she is old-school feminist....but feminists aren't really needed any more...not in the uk. Soon we're going to need masculinists! haha.

mikesb, haha, yeah I thought it would probably be a little uncool and embarrassing if I said "Hey mike! It's meeeee! From t2j", but it seems you're one one of the oracle-posters on Andy's board (like Austin is here), which is great, cause Andy needs that kind of support! I think it's a real shame that he's only got 300-odd board members....it should be 30,000! Oh well, 300 is a start.

Oh, and thanks man, you keep up the good work too!

OCPS470, yeah i'm tempted by something like that.....i'll get an 8-track mixer anyway cause it'd be good to have 2 mic-line-in's, in stereo, then a mono line in from the head......it has to be mono, cause the voiced line out on the legacy is mono only, which really gets on my tits, cause I want my guitar in stereo! Also, when I plug the lead from the line out into the back of my soundcard, the amp buzzes more than usual......maybe I should be using a speaker lead and not a guitar lead?! *oops*
Narface/Austin, yeah RX8 is a nice car, tho it drinks oil like most cars drink fuel. Still, it's a beauty, and great fun too.

Austin, if you can get that 3.0 '6', do so......3L is a decent size, especially considering where you live.....you want something that goes when you put your toe down, not something that thinks about it beforehand! My 2 cents. Actually no, my 2 cents would be "Get a Porsche 944".

alexandre, thanks amigo, let me know what you think! Hope everything is good in alexandre-land! Take it easy bro
Suzie, fingers are crossed for you! try not to let it get to you....play guitar lots otherwise you'll get properly stressed out! take it easy

SteveeT - lol.. I'm glad you like the music.... very cool.. thanx...
The music on album 1 is stuff I've writen... albums 2 and 3 are just me jamming and having a little fun...

zen - I thought that something special happened when Satch played on War... especially during the solo over the funky section... to me.. that track really stands out...

also on Extremist is Crying.. for me that is one of the best instrumental balads ever.. only to be equalled by Vai's For the Love of God and Tender Surrender....

I also really like the Joe Satriani album.. it has a really nice organic feel to it... Funky #9....

optical - lmao... I know who Pat Metheny is... lmao....

I forgot... when talking to Americans it is almost mandatory to complete the sentance with the word kidding.. or joking... to signify that that you are in fact having a little fun... roflmao....

Zen lol re Timmons/SRV.. Now we all have our masters and of course they too have their masters, example:

John McLaughlin = Larry Coryell

Al Dimeola = Larry Coryell, Django and Paco

Larry Coryell was one of the very first to take jazz to a highly charged electric place. Check out his early stuff like "Offering" to see where Mahavishnu came from. As a young boy Dimeola used to frequent the lower Manhattan jazz clubs and his absolute favorite was once again Mr Coryell who for some reason has never gained widespread acclaim BUT, influenced all from Stern to Metheney etc etc. Larry started the "disonance" and Mahavishnu perfected it. Of course Beck was then inspired by Mahavishnu but also Tommy Bolin on drummer projects with Billy Cobham and Alphonse Mouzon.

Eric Johnson = Hendrix AND Wes Montgomery

Timmons = EJ and SRV and a lot of EVH...

all you lot with a great sense of humour....

even the ones where you have to say 'kidding' all the time.. lmao..

I personally believe that some of the funniest stuff ever writen or spoken was done so by those trying to be really serious.. especially when they are seriously passionate about the subject....

and this is one of the funnyest things I've read for ages...

Sting Scales Down for Spring Tour of U.S.

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Since establishing himself as a solo artist, Sting's tour's have become grand affairs featuring large bands. That will change in April, when he launches the Broken Music tour, backed by just three players.

Set to kick off April 1 in San Jose, Calif., the tour will feature Sting on bass and vocals, longtime guitarist Dominic Miller (news), guitarist Shane Fontayne (Bruce Springsteen (news), Lone Justice) and drummer Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle (news)).

The current itinerary of 11 shows runs through an April 29-30 stand in Atlantic City, N.J. More dates are expected, according to the artist's official Web site (http://www.sting.com).

Los Angeles-based rock act Phantom Planet will open all shows on the tour, except the New Jersey engagement, support for which is to be determined.

Some shows will take place on college campuses, where students will have access to tickets prior to the general public. Sting.com members will also have access to pre-sale opportunities, some beginning as early as Thursday. Some venues will also include general admission areas in front of the stage, with those tickets priced at $30.50, according to the site.

Sting is in the midst of a European leg of his Sacred Love tour, which played Milan Tuesday. He will wrap his 2004 dates with a Dec. 9 show in Copenhagen, and will launch an 11-date Asian swing Jan. 10 in Singapore.

Clarky, holy **it, good thing Donald and Ben stopped short of Venom, Lemmy and King Diamond!!! It is a hilarious read harkening one back to the court days of the Priest and Ozzy when they were being persecuted for their lyrics (as if anyone really paid that much attention thru the din)

I am convinced the authors have not gone back far enough... The real roots of Satan in music are Cliff Richard, Lulu and Dusty Springfield.

They are of course right about the country of source tho aren't they!!! Thanks a lot Jimmy P and Ritchie B!!!!, Wizards wizards everywhere!!!!

That being said, I am loving Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell...
