zen - "up your street" means... "to your taste"... "you should like"...
that sort of thing
mikesb - Lulu in a baby doll... on all fours taking it up the hoop... gnawing on the still beating heart whilst it is still in the chest of a teenage goth chick....
civgeek - the guy that wrote that thing is a complete nutter...
I'd love to spend an evening with him in the pub to talk on this in great detail...
over 10 or 15 pints of Stella of course..
and obviously a good fight in the car park at closing time..
yoda - never understimate the hilarity of stupidy especially when it's in the guise of well informed advice and rantings...
ocps - Monty Python is not really subtle or sarcastic.. it's just insane.. lmao...
Try out a movie like Snatch.... that's proper English comedy..
optical - and I know that you knew that I knew dispite me feigning not knowing.. lmao..
climber - I can't say that I have a fave Vai song.... to be honest.. I've never realkly thought about it..
zen - and never underestimate the depths of my stupidity... lmao..
if you listen to nothing else by Vai... do listen to Tender Surrender.... I really do feel that this is most likely the one single piece of music he's writen that will appeal to you... because it is a jazzy blues ballad with a gentle rock edge...
it really is a very beautiful piece of music..

DCK, i do not consider Uzeb as cheesie soooo, how bout Surrender with Alphie Zappacosta on vinyl? Is that cheesy enough? If not, I admit to owning a Platinum Blonde CD.... (I have an excuse, the guitarist did some kitchen design work on my first house) lol

Just in . . .
From Kerrang
Mystery band to make mystery announcement
We've mentioned it on Kerrang.com already, but we can now confirm that the band you thought you'd never see again will be making the announcement you thought you'd never hear on K.com, Kerrang! TV and Ugly Phil's breakfast show on Kerrang! 105.2 FM next Tuesday (7 December) at 9am.
So, if you want to find out what all the mystery's about, you'd better keep your eyes peeled... It'll be worth the wait, we assure you!

Zen, Uzeb is/was French-Canadian sooo, we have to stick up for them... I will grant that their brand of fusion was a little redundant BUT, it was local and all we had except at jazz festival time.
Besides, Michel Cusson always used lots of Godin guitars, of which I have three so he is OK in my book!!! Somehow I think he paid less for his Godin's than I did!!!!

ZENFISH- Yeah, Just show's You how much I know! actually, I was thinking more of today's Rocker's, Who grew up with VH1-and 2 and MTV, The television show's. Many Young guitarist's Don't know untill they are told, or unless they are really enlightened, About Rchie Blackmore, and other's-American's that is!...Much less the "old" deep purple, Jimi, They know!...I think it must be a mindset?................................CLARKY- Right On! very cool! BTW I notice that many home studio's, and Fulltime big Studio's run A "fixed" EQ on many of there recording's unless, requested by another engineer, or By someone in the band That's being recored. And there are regulated frequenceies That are strandard?...I have heard that 3: 1 ratio is good for power guitars, and I have been playing around in that area 3:1 @ 2::3-1- around there, and then bringing up the entire singnal for A real overall punchy mix, power guitar's(overdriven) I think are 4-5 hz EQ response?...And drum's-2-3>..Anyway I am really experimenting with EQ and commression! It seem's that that has everything to do with How Tight one's recording's are?...Am I right?..................................DannyK- Hey how's it going? sound's like You have been having A lot of fun! and are venturing off into new ground! Good Luck! and best wishes!............................PETE MULAS- Hi! Steven here!(ATN) How are You doing? glad to see You stop By! Hope all is going well! and that You get that resolved out with Your Music! Buzzy Linhart to this day has People 'Ripping off His original work, Because they know it was big, And claiming that it's there's! So much as to get it PUBLISHED! How do You like them apples?...Stay cool and thank's for stopping and saying Hi!..............................I suppose None of You out there ever experianced 'keychange setting' and click keyboard function's> Hold down 'enter' for 5 click's, then the keyboard types more or less normaly? I have never saw this fuction? I wish I could switch it off! I don't know what I hit to start this awkward setting? Take care All

Steven- the contracts still haven't been exchanged on the house, looks like it's all being strung out as long as possible.... our estate agent has lied so many times it's hard to tell what IS the truth any more. Anyway, there was a little tiny hope that we could possibly move before Christmas, that's not looking too good now unfortunately. If we exchange contracts in the next few days (IF IF IF) then it's looking more like early January now..... :-(
Still as long as we move eventually, that's the main thing!!

MMMM, Reading lots of the posts, got me thinking of a few things.
Greatest Canadain: James Labrie (why not he can really sing, sure beats the heck out of Avril and the like)
Favorite Guitar (right now): Ibanez Artist (circa 1980's) Semi-Acoustic with M.O.P. inlays, burgundy transparent fade, Still plays great.
Best show: G3,03 in Minneapolis, life afirming, awe inspiring and dang Yngwie's cool.
Hopes for the new year: That there is an evening with Joe date coming for Minneapolis in 2005.
Favorite new album / DVD: DT Live at the Budokan
Future G3 dream line-up: Joe, Steve, Petrucci
Dream Venue: Iron Guitar Tour, (yes take-off of Iron Chef) A grudge match between all the greats, and crowd decides winner, moves on to next round etc...
That the way I saw it, ciao from the North.
