"I just recorded my own version of the "Charlie Brown Christmas Theme". I did it just for fun, and I think it ended up being cool. Its all guitar stuff mostly. Let me know what you think.

Thanks Guys "

I had yet to get into the Christmas spirit until I checked it out. Just the motovation that I needed to go hang lights outside. I expecially liked when I just get into the lul of the melody, you add some nice little Diddly Dits. Happy Holidays.

Webmaster and Frequent Users - Now that I have been on the site for a while I have noticed , as I'm sure you have, the reposting of the same questions. Is it time for a FAQ page? Or are people asking similar questions what we want. If there was a page that we could direct them to that would be cool. Just curious. Let me know what you think.

Hope thing's are fine!.....................ZENFISH- Ya' know, I cant get hold of Bill(trutina) anymore, He was using His neighbor's comp. while posting on TJ2, He dose not own one. But I am sure He will pleased and delighted that You asked about Him! I am glad all wen't well at the gig!.............................CLIMBER- Hey nice track! I like the cool power guitar's, and the Picture of You and the band jamming away! Thank's Man! You are really talented!...........................Jazzzzy- That sound's like a lot of fun! It should be pretty challenging to I would think! Much luck!.....................DELFINO- You bet! Have great time! Playing in front of an audience is awesome! And addicting! Wow, you guys rock!

jazzzzzy, thanks a lot for downloading the new mix man, I'm glad you like the tune! I'm a lot happier with the remix - you can actually hear the rhythm guitar now, and the "gods" ~ that's the name I gave to the big choral section under the main melody verses.

juju, thanks for checkin out the remix, and you're too kind.....haha, a CD for you to cart round? I dunno.....Actually, part of the purpose for recording these tracks is so that I can find a bassist and rummer who would be interested in recording them, give them a CD each and a couple of months to learn it's content in it's entirity, and then I can just go in a studio for a couple of days and record the whole lot properly, and it won't cost so much!

Also, by then, I'll hopefully be able to play properly! haha

Delfino, cheers mate....i'm really pleased about all the people checkin out my stuff. And man that really made me smile, that you're rockin out to Breaking The Ice! Did you notice the oh-so-NOT-subtle use of the whole-tone scale in the end of the solo? haha, I was havin a Tony MacAlpine moment, only I don't have the style or the class to pull it off like he does! hehe, still, it kinda worked, and I quite like the resolve of the last few notes before the melody finally kicks in again.

climber, "You will never be satisfied.....you're gonna chase the raibow blind". Kenny Wayne Shepherd wrote that, and I think it kinda sums me up! hehe, but in a good way I hope. Thanks a lot for your massive encouragement, it's most gratifying!

OpticalStudio, thanks, and yeah, I have a fair bit of performance experience. I haven't done loads, but what I have done has been varied. I had spent so long anticipating my first gig, eagerly looking forward to playing in front of my old schoolmates and showing them that I could do something, that it was the most enjoyable gig I ever did. The audience wasn't massive, but they made the biggest noise, it was so cool! So yeah, I can relate to the situation Mr Delfino is in, and I really hope he manages to get his head straight about his gig and focus on just enjoying himself, cause if he does he will have an awesome time!

Suzie, hey that's no problem! Give me a shout when you can download again and i'll give you te link, if you like. yeah, it was Red Square.

That's something I wanted to ask actually - Everybody seemed to really like Red Square - why? I'm just interested in knowing what particularly people like about that track! I'm semi-happy with it, though it needs a drum fill in the intro, and some fills in other places to break up the metronome-ness of the drum track! hehe

Zenfish, chill dude, I'm not gonna hate you just cause you have an opinion! I think you're exagerating the EVH influence a litle, but I know you love EVH, so it's cool. but you're probably right on Led Zep - I know Gary Cherone is a massive Zepellin fan, so it stands to reason that Nuno is pretty keen too! They cover some Led Zep on the end of the Guitar Wars DVD (very well, I might add).

I'd probably agree, on a good day, that no, Nuno isn't a genius. Vai is a genius, but I think Nuno rocks more!

guitarnett, "Christmas Time Is Here" - I started working on a guitar cover of that a few weeks ago, but got sidetracked playing another track from the Charlie Brown Christmas CD. The track is "Linus And Lucy" and it's awesome, check it out if you don't know it. And hey, great choice of a tune to cover!
civgeek, yeah but then if it's possible to miss the fact that there is an FAQ page (i didn't know there was one till you said so) then it kinda suggests, to me at least, that the FAQ page needs to be more obvious! hehe. Included should be the answers to "Why do they boo Stu?" and "Where does Joe get his cool hats". Oh and "does Joe still teach....if so, how can I get lessons from him"!

Hey again folks, sorry for double post, but I ran out of room on the last one!

Anyway, I just uploaded the remix of Time Boogie, which was the other track that desperately needed doing! You can now tell the lead guitar from the rhythm!

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/5/simondaultreymusic.htm

edit:

wow, all of us posted at once! hehe

Delfino, haha, well during the end of the solo, after the bit with all the delay, there's an awkward sounding scale which is the whole-tone scale!

juju, cool, I'll let you know if I get far enough to record it. It's a tricky song, and I really don't want to wreck it, so it'll only get recorded/uploaded if it's any good!
I meant to say, about a week ago I got the DVD of BB King's Sweet 16 gig in Africa, 1974 - it is one of the coolest music DVD's ever. I love it, BB is a god, he is so awesome. I recommend it to everyone, it hardly cost anything!

I Just realized that the song I recorded was actually part of "Linus and Lucy", I always referred to that as the Charlie Brown Christmas Theme song...I should have known that:) Better change that on my site. There are alot of great songs on that cd, I'd like to cover a few more.

DamMissNamm

That makes me feel good, thanks for listening! Might as well get ready for the holidays right?

I didn't finish my text-transformation of "Much Ado About Nothing"...for the simple reason that its a first draft, my english teacher has given us very little guidance and I don't want to waste my time finishing it if its wrong, I've done 1200 words out of 3000 and would like to know whether what I have got so far is right.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa!!

My husband and I just wrangled our first bat tonight. My cat Stewie was acting funny and running up and down the stairs and making noises like he was looking for something. What I didn't know was that he was doing his best Lassie impersonation and trying to tell us that there was trouble in Timmy's room...err, I mean trouble in my daughter's room. lmao! My son went upstairs to take a shower, and came running down holding Stew and yelling that there was a bat in his sister's room. lol! OMG, it was so funny! My husband and I went upstairs, and there it was, a big brown bat flying in circles around my daughter's room. EEK! Man, I was laughing so hard I could barely stand it. It was our first experience with a bat in the house, and everyone was freaking out but me (yeah, right). I kept saying "it's like a little hamster with wings" to which my daughter yelled "I hate hamsters, especially hamsters with wings!!" I was running all over the place trying to find a fishing net, even knowing we didn't have one I was still looking, and ran to the garage. I came out with a hockey stick and a net to hold all the balls. I put the net on the stick so my husband could get the bat in the net, and we could take it outside. After taking a second look at the bat, aww hell no! It was bigger than we thought. lmao! We needed to catch it SECURELY so it wouldn't chase the kids around the house if it got loose. We needed a container and cardboard for this catch and release. I went looking for a decent size Tupperware container. My husband came back with a 5 gallon bucket. Did I mention it was a big bat? ROTF!!!! When we went back to her room, it had landed on the wall, hanging on nicely to the photos of her friends she has taped there. I kept telling my husband to be quick and careful. We didn't want to hurt it. He got the bucket over it, and carefully slid in the cardboard. I'm hoping the bat didn't leave any little toemails stuck to my daughters pictures. LMAO! I told her that and held up a finger like a claw and she freaked out. Anyways my husband got the bat in the bucket, and ran downstairs and outside with it. He took it out onto the grass and turned the bucket sideways and the little critter flew away. Needless to say, my daughter is down here sleeping on the sofa because she knows there's bat hair on her bed. LMAO!

Anybody got any tips on how to ease a traumatized 16 year old girl and her fear of more bats in her room? lmao! We don't know how it got in, but we're telling her it came in on her boyfriends back or in his hoody. He came here and went up to her room to get her, which is where the bat made it's escape. Either that, or it was in his big mop of brown hair and fell out when he flicked his bangs out of his eyes. He was gone by the time Stewie discovered the bat, so we can blame him :)

michelle.........................I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! That's toooooo funny! But very tragic for your daughter! I know how I felt as a teenage when one night I woke up after having fallen asleep with my light on (which my parents were always yelling at me about) to find a spider crawling up the bedspread towards my face....I started screaming, jumped out of bed throwing my arms around, my parents came running and tripping over each other and were extremely disgusted with me when they found out I was hysterical over a spider. Did I mention it was like 2 in the morning? Anyway, I refused to sleep in my room until someone finally found a spider in there and squished it! And then slept with one eye open for a couple of nights! I really hate spiders too! I'm sure your daughter will eventually calm down, change her bedding and go back to her own room!!

And the award of the year goes to the courageous mom and dad who braved the evil fangs of this creature to capture it and release it outside!!! I bet none of you ever forget tonight, and of course the story (mostly the bat) will only grow bigger and bigger with time!!! I'm still crying and laughing over it! Thanks for sharing the joy!

Anyways, I'm 100 posts behind already.

Alex, it was to many posts to catch up with, so I gave up and started fresh. Hope you are healthy and all things are going well my friend.

Steven, hiya buddy. I'm hangin'!! lol! Thanks :)

civgeek, that made me smile. Thanks :) Live at Buddakan is a killer DVD, isn't it! I watched MP's drum solo today. I need to watch the whole thing over again. Great stuff!

Mowlie, had a bit of time this morning and listened to Blowout. I loved it!

Suzie, describe...manky. lol! It's a great word, and very descriptive, but it could mean a lot of things. lol! Hope your feeling better.

Jazzy, I saw someone post that you are a "day maker". That's a good one, and I agree :)

Simon, I'll try to listen to your track in the morning. To late now.

Tracie, LOL!! I wanted to take a picture of the bat as it sat on the wall, but I was afraid the flash would scare it and make it fly around again and make me break my face trying to get out of the room if it did. I did get a picture of the bucket with the cardboard over it when my husband sat it on the porch. I made him stop so I could take a picture, even though you couldn't see the bat...it was in there. I wasn't brave enough to take the cardboard off and peer into the bucket. I'da got whiplash for sure if the little bugger would have flew out. LMAO!!
