Hey folks, what's wrong with Joe? Does he have a cold or something? He's such a trooper even playing when he's sick.

JOE, take care of yourself and stay out of ther rain. Get as much rest as you can, drink lots of fluids, and take whatever meds you need to ease the symptoms. You're the best! Hope you're feeling better soon!

joe this is very special to me to be able to write you , since the time i saw you at the bootom line in manhattan at the surf tour, to the pier with stevie ray vaun , to the beacon on the flying tour , and every other tour to date all . i have been fasinated with your technic and i am obsessed with learning your style. i always wished just once i could just jam with you , but so does every other obsessed satch fan. i learned satch bboogie, crushingday, flying in a blue dream(my favorite), rubina, always withme etc, memories, friends, strange, crush of love, and on the learning mode to add onther fasinating song from the music page to my memmory, to my fingers and on to the fret board!!!!! after this message i am off to the guitar to learn some more. i know you probably will pass this by ,due to the fact that your busy and have thousands of emails to read. But just remember that this obsessed fan will always keep you in mind and you wil always continue to make me understand the art of creation like you said it is 90% preparation and10% inspiration joe thank you for the gift you gave me and that is understanding that learning is fun and creative hope all is well with you and your family and i hope you had a very merry christmas lots of italian food i am just stuffed to the gill all the best please write i know i will CARL

Bunny The one in the style of a poster for a show in Perth was the first one I saw and it was excellent, the other one aswell was very very good, you've got a lot of talent :-).

My favourite is definitly, the green and blue frog one though...I too am a fan of frogs lol :-)

Steven Wilde I never realised you had only been playing 2 years, you sound like you've been playing for much longer than that, ah well I guess it can only be really judged on how someone has aclimatised (if thats the right word to use) to the instrument.

Today I have a head cold, and a mirgrane lol. Which means I'm missing my best mates party and I have to lie down a lot :-( Ah well, I suppose if the migrane eases off I can finish parts of my track.

I'll keep ya' posted on the progress.

I would like to know what Joe's spiritual belief's are. I am a Christian and am planning to start a ministry for bikers. Part of the inspiration came from realizing what the song 'hill of the skull' was about.

thanks, Ben

Joe! The Arena in QLD is sold out- can't you be supplied with a bigger, better venue- the arena is all good for 13 year old punk "rock" kids and their "emo" clothes that they snatched from grandad's drawers, but for an artist such as yourself......?

Alexandre: The new project (the video game right?) is going pretty well. We passed the first round of cuts with Activision, and now we have to do a 10 minute piece that will actually be put into the game. If this goes well, myself and the main composer (Colin O'Malley) will be awarded a contract to do the music for the game! They were very pleased with the first demo we gave them, so I have high hopes for getting the contract.

michelle - Caught up after 9 pages... Try 9 months here!!
Man it's seems like forever since I've wandered in here. Hope all is well with everyone (or at least those who even remember who I am)

Can't wait to catch Joe's show tonight in San Diego at 4th & B. Had the pleasure of not only meeting Joe, Galen, and Jeff last year, spending a little quality time after the show "H2 HUMMER STRETCH" style, but then played myself the week after at 4th & B opening for Blue Oyster Cult. Spied a few notes from the show reviews Joe hasn't been feeling to well, so will SOMEBODY please get that man a bowl of chicken soup already! ;-D

Well, hope you're feeling better Joe. I'm sure the show tonight will be nothing sort of awesome regardless.

Hey Steven, I'm well, although we went for a meal in Wetherspoons today and it was very very very crap indeed!! Not really in the mood to do too much today, productive task of the day accomplished by me was provisionally booking our removal van (if the date ever gets finalised.) Matt has been busy starting to box things up too, it's a real catch-22, as we have to start packing up, otherwise it'll be a horrendous rush just as I go back to work on the 5th... but we still don't have it set in stone that it's all going through!! We shall see how it all pans out.....

One daft present I got given for Christmas was a box of cards called "Practical Jokes for Grown-Ups" which at first I was about to chuck out, but I've just started reading it and thought I'd share this with all of you::

"Nasty Trick # 35 : TUMBLER!

Equipment: two tumblers (ideally plastic.) Broom handle & stepladder for advanced version.

This is a classic practical joke, so you need to be subtle in the build-up to avoid discovery. Simply ask your victim to place his hands flat on a table, palms down, then place a full glass of water on top of each hand. They will be stuck there until some kind soul helps them, or they drench themselves. Alternatively, fill a plastic tumbler with water, then, standing on a step ladder, hold it against the ceiling. Ask your victim to help you by pressing the broom handle against the bottom of the glass. When it is in place, get off the ladder and walk away, leaving your victim to choose between a soaking or spending the rest of their life in this undignified position!"

Hmmm....

... or how about

"NASTY TRICK # 42... Doorway to Another Dimension...

Equipment: Newsp[aper, polystyrene balls, adhesive tape.

Do this to someone whose bedroom door opens inwards. When they've gone to sleep, and you're not expecting them to get up to go to the bathroom, tape together sheets of newspaper to make one large sheet large enough to cover the outside of the bedroom doorframe. Attach the bottom and sides firmly with tape, making sure there is a gap between the door itself and the paper. The top is still open, so use this to pour the polystyrene balls into the gap. Try to fill up the whole space, then tape up the top side. Come morning, the victim will open his bedroom door, be swamped by tiny white particles and have to walk through a wall of newspaper! Great way to start the day!"

Even better....

Excited

I received an i-pod for Christmas - finally delivered today.

I set up i-tunes last night - all my Joe, Motley, and others are ready to be downloaded into my i-pod.

Anybody else have an i-pod?

I received the 20 gig one.

Anything else I should get or watch out for?

Hello Joe!

I was at your concert last night at the Fillmore... Welcome Home! .... I loved the "in your face" riffs and boundless energy..... But the Amps were maxed out and clipping bad, sending (unintentioned) distortion.... Ouch ! That hurt... pure magical sound was lost.... Fire your Sound Engineer !

all - if you haven't read the news or gotten the emailer, i wanted to let you know here too -- joe's been diagnosed with pneumonia! watching the show last night it was hard to imagine him playing like that for almost 4 hours, high energy, jumping up and down, but you should have seen him afterwards-- there was no doubt he needed to get in bed and stay there for a week! if you ever doubt his dedication to all his fans, this was another example of him putting it all on the line. send him some wishes for a quick recovery, and he'll see you at the rescheduled dates when he's back on his feet!

and yes, this means that the show on the 1st that we were going to webcast is also postponed. at this point, we are still planning on doing that show, whenever it's rescheduled. it'll still be an on-demand webcast that will be available later on and stay up for a while.

lastly, although ii don't have time to read all of the posts here, i have gotten a few emails from people about the general vibe in the T2J section. let me just pipe in and say that this area exists for fans to chat back and forth and also write public notes to joe. joe uses it to pop in on a regular basis and just get a picture of what's going on in his fans' minds. so think about it-- it's full of angry posts, is that the impression you want to send to joe? please try to have respect for different points of view, and if you disagree, do so, but with some respect. people who make a regular habit of abusing the site and making it bad for everyone will eventually be blocked.

do the stu - thanks for noticing that-- i added the DP/thin lizzy shows back into the road archive section. i also added date ranges for each one.

jblaze1 - if you collect dates of first posts by folks, send it my way and i'll try to put it to good use.

civgeek - repeat posts in T2J are strongly discouraged. posting the same message over and over again doesn't improve the chances of them being seen (i search for any post with "webmaster" in it on a regular basis) and definitely doesn't make you come across better :} there is a rather outdated FAQ in the archive vault, and i'd be willing to entertain folks in T2J to volunteer-organize a fan-run FAQ that appears here on satriani.com.... if you could self-organize enough to do so :}

photos - if you're wondering if i got your photo, the odds are YES! i've just been overwhelmed with other work the last few months, but will get to posting them soon! this is both fan artwork and live shots.

Suzie, Ha! Ha! Yeah, That's funny stuff! I actually saw the one about the water on back a hand's move! Those are pretty Funny thing's! Been, Really depressed latley, I needed the cheering up! Complted A "heavy metal" tune, with Much distrotion, and spent all day with this leadwork, and rythym fill, And it came out sounding So Melencholy! But Good! It's werid, Filled with emotion! got some neat drum, and Basswork in it to! Also AWESOME new's about Your house deal! That's A great sign when You have to prepare to pack thing's and get thin'g in order to Move! Much Luck! Keep Me Posted!..........................ZENFISH- Yes, It is very diffidult stuff, that Ole' SRV, Doggone it He did all that with One guitar to! Fascinating! I have really taking to all that stuff! I was thinking, with all the Gut Feeling, I should concentrate on the Blue's! I can see Why It's easy to mix Blues and Metal together! One is the apitmy of Aggression, and the other Full of Passion, and emotion, and deep rooted felling! Incredible! I long to do both! Lately, Listening to SRV, Only, getting the feeling down! Simple 12 bar blues, Made Spicy with Meaty, and chunky major and minor pentotonic scaled riff's! Yes, Indeed! Well back to being depressed......
