Dear Joe,
I heard you weren't feeling well and I'd like to say "Get well soon," and "Happy holidays." I still can't figure out how the heck you do your stuff!
Hope you feel better,

Michelle: LOL!!! Bats at home, bats at work..........we need to start calling you BATWOMAN!! :+) I'm just catching up on all the posts since we left here early Sunday morning to drive to San Fran and see Joe. I felt so bad for him for how sick he is...I just wanted to send him home to bed so he could get better. At the same time, we were so sad to leave the last concert last night...wanted to stay in "JoeLand" forever..but my son wanted to get home to his JS100 and play like a fiend after seeing Joe again! I hope your daughter is okay, with her major bump on the head! Happy New Year!
Do The Stu and Mega Boyd: It was really cool to meet both of you in San Fran. My son especially enjoyed the second night standing out in the cold rain and having someone like you, Austin, to talk with. He's very impressed with your knowledge of many things and thought you were great! And Boyd is as nice as folks have said before here...it's great to meet other Joe fans face-to-face! I'm just sorry we didn't get to meet Chron, that would have been cool too!
Austin, how about those "lovely" fans the second night? People sure can be ('scuse me a moment) BUTTS can't they? Between the lady yelling at Joe to sign her shirt (yeah right, like Joe is gonna drop his guitar in the middle of a song just to sign something) and banging up against us constantly trying to get Joe's attention....to the jerk who grabbed the microphone stand to try and get picks after Joe left at the end of the second set.........to the guy who kept putting his backpack on the stage between the monitors, which was BLOCKING people's view..what was THAT about? Sigh...some people just don't think before they act I guess. I know my son wasn't thinking when he flung the backpack backwards over his head into the crowd, he said he was so mad about the pick thing that happened right before that that he just took it out on the backpack guy who wouldn't stop. He was wrong to do that too. He was feeling very protective of Joe I guess, but got the mom lecture about what he did wrong, too.
Thanks for helping us all out when these folks went from being fans to being serious jerks!
BTW, can you hear anything yet? We're both half deaf, but hope it's a passing thing! Hope your family enjoyed the show as well..you obviously got home safe and sound, since you've posted already. We'll put on a review of both nights as well, but I bet yours will sound much more intelligent!

Jazzzzzy: Dude, it's been forever, how are ya man???
JS_JS: Firehouse is one of my all time favorite bands. Love the first two cd's in peticular. Bill Leverty is a great melodic player, very underrated. I saw them in 99' on the
"Catergory 5" tour, and they tore the house down. Great to see you're a fan!
Zenfish: Great Satch Blues fusion lists!!
Well Joe played another great show in San Francisco last night. The set was full of obscure material "War" Morraccan Sunset" "Lords of Karma" to name a few. The highlight of the night for me was "Is there Love in Space" I think that has grown to be my favorite track off the latest cd. Live, it really came to life. Joe's tone was unbelievable, I finally got to hear that song at the proper volume! My god it was so beautiful, the solo gave me goosebumps. There was a Jam at the end of the evening with Doug Doppler, and Neal Schon, very cool!!

RGD, welcome back! ha! There is no catching up after 9 months, just starting over. lol! Sorry Joe's show was cancelled tonight. I hope you got the news (as well as everyone else) before you headed out to the venue.
Steven, do you remember bahduh saying he was going away for the holiday? I don't have time to look up his last few posts, but I have that in my head. I'm hoping he and his family went north.
Stevee T, my husband? He had nose surgery to help him breathe better. He's doing well now, thanks.
juju, nice friend! lol! Have a great time on your vacation.
Delfino, it's on the DT DVD and it's on Joe's welcome greeting on the home page of Satriani.com :) Check it out! Great idea about the fundraiser too!
anibur, HELLO!! Hope you and your family had a nice Christmas!
Tracie, thanks for the story. Man, I can't imagine being that sick and doing a job that requires that much energy. I just hope Joe didn't over do it. So some fans were "butts" as you so nicely put it. Where do these people come from? No friggin manners or respect for anyone else. Man how I hate that.
Why did they let that guy put a backpack on the stage? Where the hell was security? I guess your son was security, and although he shouldn't have thrown it...I bet it felt real good ;-) As for the bats - does this mean I really am batty?? lmao!! My daughter didn't want to go to the doctor today, but she did call off work. She still has a bit of a headache.
For anyone who has my email addy, we switched to Verizon, so now it's the same addy but @verizon.net instead.

Joe, take care my friend. You have many songs yet to write and albums yet to make. Don't burn the candle at both ends to the point of illness. You are too important to music. We all want to hear and see you for years to come. Keep Wailin!

I was just Informed this afternoon that the ventura theatre show was canceled. I hope you will be feeling better soon and wish you the best always. I bought my tickets 7 months ago and was bummed to here of the cancelation. The first time I saw you was you made your LA debut at the roxy in the late 80s. I have seen you in concert 6 times total, twice in Ventura. The Ventura Theatre New Years show was to be the first time I was going to take my 16 year old son to Chris to see you in concert and he was very excited about it. My Wife my Son and I hope you return to full health as soon as possible and look forward to you rescheduling the ventura date as soon as possible. I was checking my Email daily to see about winning back stage passes for me and my son thru your online fan club. This is mostly for my son because he is as big a fan of yours as I am and it would be a moment he would never forget and that would talk about for the rest of our lives. Get well and God bless you.

Joe,
Sorry to hear you're under the weather, bummer man! Doesn't matter though, still have my gold pass ticket package for your Phoenix show! Hopefully I'll still be here and not deployed to Iraq when you do come through in 2005.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say I hope you recover and come back strong brother! God bless and help you during your recovery!

Ouch....sorry to hear about your bout with pneumonia, Joe. I was in the hospital for over a week with in when I was about 7 years old....very scary time when you're that age.
That's an amazing testament........that Joe would come out after a show and do a meet and greet when he's feeling like death warmed over. God bless ya : )

Fretslayer: Well, MegaBoyd was there on the 26th but not the 27th, which was too bad. He was standing to the left in about row 2 that night, closer to where Mike Manning hangs out, and I think Do The Stu was right by him as well that night. We were just to the right of center stage, front row.
For the 27th, Do The Stu was right in front of Joe's pedal board (lucky him!!) along with a couple of his family members, then my son and I were right next to them, all against the stage. I had a tall young man standing right next to me (he caught a pick early on and was thrilled!), and next to him was the guy that was constantly yelling, dancing and waving his arms at Joe..he was really into it! So I bet you might have been the guy next to him! Great show, wasn't it? Sorry we didn't get a chance to say "hey"!!
Michelle: Yeah, it would be nice for people with no manners or class to just stay home and leave the rest of us to enjoy ourselves....That'll never happen!
And though he won't admit it, I think my son was GLAD to throw that guys' backpack away....I guess a lot of his stuff spilled out all over the floor when it hit, which made the guy pretty mad and he was gettin in my sons' face, so he gave the guy a shove...pretty scary actually, cuz I didn't know what the guy might do in return. Luckily Austin and a couple other people around us kept him from doing anything else and he left. Poor Joe, he probably saw what happened because he immediately moved right in front of us, playing all the while.
Security was nowhere to be seen, at least not up front by the stage. Before the show started we actually had some breathing room around each person where we could move comfortably a bit...but when Joe came out it seemed like everyone pressed forward and then you couldn't move at all, had to fight to keep your space. Luckily, being up against the stage, we couldn't be pushed out of our spots very easily, but it sure made for an interesting couple of evenings! And by golly, Chris and I stood outside in the rain and the cold from 3:45 on the second night to be able to be up front (by the time the concert was over we figure we were standing about 8 hours at that point!) and we weren't very willing to give up our spots!
But ya know, not really complaining cuz we got to see JOE 2 nights in a row!! Yeah!
Happy Birthday Mr. Campitelli! Hope you really enjoy yourself!

Happy Birthday to an awesome drummer! Jeff C. you have a great freakin birthday, man! Be crazy!
Joe, hope you feel better quickly. I'm looking forward to the Phoenix reschedule date. By the way, it took me an hour to figure out you are using the boss gigadelay "twist" effect on "Searching". That's such a cool sound..I like it. Now I have to go buy the pedal, dammit!
I'm really bummed out because I broke my right forearm and had to have surgery two weeks ago (only a few weeks after my JS1200 arrived!) and I can't play!!! Oh, this sucks so bad. I'm just glad it wasn't my left arm. It's frustrating to hear or watch you play and then not be able to pick up my guitar and let the energy out! So, I hope by the time the Phoenix show is rescheduled and i meet you back stage I'll be fully recovered....I'd like to shake your hand and thank you for all of the inspiring music you write and play.
...matt
