Thanks for the wish - some of the posts were memorable. Some were not. Some were, "What was I thinking?"

WEBMASTER Jon, thanks for the update. Not exactly what I was hoping to hear though. I've never been that sick (thank God) but I know it takes a while to recoup from something so serious. I was hoping to hear he was a bit better than "pretty knocked out". Thanks for letting us know. It's greatly appreciated.

C'mon peeps, keep sending Joe your good vibes and prayers for a full recovery!!

GET WELL SOON JOE! WE LOVE YOU! Rest up, and when you get tired of resting, rest some more!

You must be very bright - must be since you are down under. My wife, when she was younger, twice lived down under, outside of Brisbane if I remember correctly. I think she has told me she has been by/through Perth as well.

Zenfish

Wild one about Ray Charles and seeing extra F's.

I had to think about that one for a minute. A little slow this morning.

civgeek, it's a true gift handed down from generation to generation - the art of tweaking your child. lol! I'll send you an email of the sound clip I played yesterday every time my son walked in the room. It's from the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape. It's one of our favorite movies, and I finally bought it for the kids for Christmas. It makes me laugh like hell. lol! I expect you to use it on your kids! Congrats on the gigs!

mowlie, what's a pair of trainers? I gotta get the whole picture here. lol! Nice place too!

Rocker Lets F-Word Slip on 'Tonight Show'

LOS ANGELES - NBC hasn't received any calls about the F-word that Motley Crue rocker Vince Neil (news) dropped during the live New Year's Eve broadcast of "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."

"Happy f---ing New Year, Tommy!" Neil said to bandmate Tommy Lee (news) shortly after midnight Friday.

The remark was carried to viewers on the East Coast but was edited out before it was broadcast in the West, according to the entertainment trade paper Variety, which reported the incident on its Web site Monday night.

Leno normally tapes his show for broadcast later in the evening but does a live version for New Year's Eve. He had never a problem with profanities before, although the word has slipped out from time to time on other programs.

"The network has not received any calls regarding the incident," an NBC official, who asked not be identified, said Monday.

U2 lead singer Bono used the F-word at last year's Golden Globe Awards (news - web sites), which was also broadcast live by NBC. The network has said it will put this year's broadcast on a 10-second delay.

The Federal Communications Commission (news - web sites), in a ruling issued last March, said the word should never be used on over-the-air radio or television programs. FCC (news - web sites) officials said at the time they had received hundreds of complaints from Golden Globes viewers.

Networks have been more cautious about material they air after singer Janet Jackson (news)'s Super Bowl performance last year

Jackson was near the end of a Feb. 1 halftime duet with Justin Timberlake (news) when Timberlake snatched off part of her bustier on stage, revealing one of her breasts, which was covered with only a sun-shaped "nipple shield." Those involved blamed the exposure on a "wardrobe malfunction."

Anaheim Angels Adding Los Angeles to Name

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Baseball's Angels have a new name, and it's a mouthful: The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The switch, which will be challenged in court by the city of Anaheim, is intended to help the team market itself to more of Southern California, attract more advertising sponsors and broadcast revenue, the team said Monday.

"We believe that the appeal in the marketplace will be broader," Angels spokesman Tim Mead said.

The city of Anaheim will file a lawsuit to block the name change and hopes to obtain a temporary restraining order in place this week, city spokesman John Nicoletti said.

Anaheim officials believe the change violates the terms of the team's 33-year lease with the city.

Parker - I have 2 that I play now. One is a heavily modified Strat. It has a H-S-H se up with coil taps. It sounds great. It has a comfortable neck but is harder to play than my Ibanez. I'm thinking about stringing it with 8's to help with that. This guitar was actually stolen from me and I found it 2 years later in a pawn shop. I also have an RG 560. This is the one I play the most. It now has a red Tone Zone in the neck, the stock single coil in the middle that I painted yellow, and a green Fred in the bridge. Both of these I've have for almost 20 years. How's the JS 1000 savings fund coming along?

In the latest issue of Guitar World, there's a CD-ROM that has a track off the upcoming Vai album titled "Yai Yai".

Oy.

I never thought I would say this. I cannot *stand* this song. It's like an experimental Bjork vocal run through digital effects.

*sigh*

Powerslave, It is not all that suprising. Steve mentioned really liking Bjork when I interviewed him a few years back..... He said when he saw her in Iceland it (the show) totally freaked him out....

My wedding is in 4 days, and I am going to surprise my wife by playing "Cryin" and "Always with me always with you" at the reception with my guitar....Those were the 2 first songs that I played for her on guitar when we first met, so I hope I get the same reaction from her. I am going to be playing pretty loud....hopefully I don't screw up :)

SteeveeT, I did download the tunes from Thomas Bressel site. The kid DOES have the chops... I cannot comment on the production quality as I am listening through laptop speakers at the present time.

Although his site lists "Part 1" and "Part 2", they are both in fact the same.... You will need WinRar to extract the files which are mp3 at 192 kbps. Hell the kid even made CD covers... I am impressed, check it out!!! here

Big Bad Joe!!

Saw you on the 26th at the Fillmore. Even though you felt like crap you sounded fantastic! Thank you for your sacrifice. It's probably what led to your current condition. Also saw you at the Bone Bash, which was the first time I had seen you live, and you were incredible there. You were in a groove that night. Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that we are all thinking about you. Get rested and well and will see you on the flip side. KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!!! CHEERS!

DCK- That's great! An acoustic eh' It should be pretty facinating! I am quite taken with the acoustic, I bought an Applause! with the funky plug, and play electronic's! But overall it's a beutiful guitar You've seen it on My site! a bright cherry red job! Is the entire song acoustic? I really do like the mix of both! I recently did a track, and tracked an acoustic over the electric guitar! in the same key just played it in the octave. and got this real fatheaded sound. trouble is everthing I do end's up sounding just like Me! Experimental or otherwise! Execpt when I am doing a "cover tune" ...Well, I am alway's standing By for to hear a ML tune! You, and Paul C. are My favorites! Right up there with Joe, and Beck, and Vai! and SRV.My true insirpiarations!...................................ZENFISH- I alway's worry about My freind's. You know that! :-) That is to bad, really. But hopefully you will Find Another drummer soon. I am glad otherwise that thing's are going fine! I have been really working with "theory' of guitar-the how's and Why, a note is playedLOL sort of helpful. I know, I am learning how not to 'flub' notes, And pretty much stay in key. despite all this guitar rambling! Well, I'm rambling so, I'll let you go...Have a great day!...........................CLARKY- That cool! I hope You like the Card! also, thats right, i forgot, the rehersal's are in Jan. But, I know that's still a pretty busy time! I just have to say, What a wonderful Inspiration, You and Mark London, Have been1 Alway's willing to help! despite Your really being busy Artist's! To lend a hand to Guy's like Me who are struggling to become an Okay guitar player. I really hope the best for You Paul, in this new year! Cheer's! and much sucess!..........................................Big bunny- How is thing's? How are you doing? Hope all is good!..............................962- I will e-mail You later today! Hope You had A great B-Day!.................................CivgeeK- Yeah, I was really bummed to, That we could not meet! But talking to you was great! Good to hear Your prgressing with Your new Band! good luck!.......................................Suzie, I Hope your Doing okay! and don't get to down! You'll get Your new place! It's just get's drawn out sometimes. But I really have My fretting hand, and picking hand and toes, all crossed, and better, I am praying that You hurry up, and get settled! :-)..........................................SteveeT- Hope writing your new album, is coming along great! :-)

Ya Yo Gakk, I agree on the overpriced ticket thing. Steve has taken it one step further tho.....His package for the RI tour includes specially autographed CD's, with bonus tracks on that you can only hear by buying one of the ultra-high-price tickets. I'm very disappointed......it seems Steve is favouring business over just writing music these days.
Steven Wilde, thanks dude, yeah my birthday was cool! Hehe, no rush man, just mail when you get a chance!

Clarky - I went to Guitar9.com today, and there was an advert for this CD as a banner. I just brought it up because of the title, since it could raise one or two 'issues'. You may want to check it out.
