Any update (1/5) on Joe?

I had the dreaded "P" and it took me 3 months to recover. Got it from pushing myself when I had the flu. I should have stayed in bed...

michelle: lol, if it has four pops (propellors) and makes a low deep humming sound it is a C130.... Unless of course it's not a prehistoric taradactal, lol!! ;-) The Marine Corps ones are all light and dark grey, and the Air Force ones have the different color greens.... If there is a base near you, they are probably pre-positioning supplies and people to bigger bases where they can transport overseas.... The C-130's are very slow too, and here is a pic of one so you can check to see....

Clarky: Sounds kuul bro, and if you can get more info as the dates get closer, that would work.... Have fun man!!....

962: Hey man, I got a few days to check in at the right time here, lol.... I see what your saying about Steve, and his rules are really funny.... "No babies in arms" etc, lmao!!.... He did do something better though.... He kept the EVO Premium people out of the backstage giveaway, and saved that for site members only.... But, cant you be both??.... lol.... And one more thing.... Is'nt Steve looking just like the Ultra Zone character from the album these days!!!! ;-)

....Well peeps, gotta run.... Be back when I can....

Ola, how was your holidays? I just caught up with 20 or so pages of posts. I took your quiz and scored as a

"CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government

control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on

the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention

and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,

tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what

they describe as "practical" solutions to problems."

Interesting very interesting....................................

Also the silo home is the coolest crib I have ever seen. I would love to own one.

Just listened to all of the clips on the "Talk 2 Joe"CD. Nice compilation of talent. It's always great to hear other players and their styles of music. I'm wondering how successful the CD was, and if there are any plans of a Volume II? Haven't had much time to play the past few years, but hearing other musicians has inspired me to make a little time to pick up the axe again.

Newbies ~ we have a fantastic cd featuring the folks here at T2J who have recorded their own ORIGINAL songs onto one compact disc titled SATCHERATED FEEDBACK.

Here's what Joe himself had to say about it ~ "The T2J CD is finally available for all to enjoy! You've got to check out how our fellow musicians here at satriani.com are writing, playing and recording. This is a great CD, the first of many more I hope! --Joe"

At the request of Joe Satriani, proceeds will go to the International Red Cross.

You can find it at www.Talk2Joe.com :-)

Anyone know anything about the JS100 guitars? My guitar player got one from his wife for christmas. Does not have the edgeII tremolo. Has the cheesiest piece of shiznat Ibanez makes on it. When he got it, it was unplayable. Needs serious fretwork. We have someone setting up the neck properly now, but cannot find any contact info on Ibanez site to ask about getting the correct tremolo. Also cannot get info from his wife on where she bought it. I think she is scared to tell him how much she payed for it. He wnated a 1200 but hey, that's what happens when your old lady surprises you with a musical instrument. Any help would be appreciated!

Cows, Constitution, & Ten Commandments

COWS Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington. And they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give them all a cow.

CONSTITUTION They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and we'r e not using it anymore.

TEN COMMANDMENTS The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse! You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians! It creates a hostile work environment!

Greetings to Joe Satriani and the gang here at Satriani dot com !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from Ed, KD6AAJ (my Amateur radio call-sign).

This is my first post, and I have been dying to post so I could say GET BETTER JOE! I'm prayin' for ya.

I just want to thank the people who made this site possible. I just accidentally found this page 'cause I was surfing the net looking for Satriani CDs.

You saved my life Joe, you inspired me to play again (but I suck after like 10 years of not playing).

I was listening to the classic rock station this December 2004 (sorry, Joe, as the 1985 song says "When did Mottley Crue become classic rock?") and I heard "If I could Fly" for the first time. It brought tears to my eyes. It was like angels singing!

Fortunately the radio station switched from playing that rap-cr*p and now plays rock!

Last album (yep, vinyl) I heard was "surfing with the Alien".

Unfortunately, they don't play enough of you stuff here (YET!!!) so I have'nt heard all your stuff.

As soon as I can I will get all of your cd's. Tough 'cause I am married with 2 kids. But now I am finally making (when I work) decent money as an Apprentice Electrician. I will graduate apprenticeship in May 2005.

Then I will have more time to dust of my Kramer and play again.

Music is a love I left in 1991, when I sold my first 1 year old $600 Kramer for $250 (pauseing to wipe tears from eyes)

But I found MusicYo.com who now sells kramer, now owned by Gibson.

Bought my new one for $235, so I figure I made $15.

I just bought both my kids their first electric guitars for Christmas (Matthew is only 7, and Stephanie is 11) so now we can practice together! I started playing when I was about 14 years old, so I figure they have a head start on me.

Well, I gota jam, and I hope to hear from you guys (especialy you, Joe)

"a stand-alone sammich shop is impressive. It is rare to see one not in a strip mall (whatever the brand). "

Thanks for noticing, I hope if you stopped in you had a good experience. Originally when I purchased that store it was in a strip mall. I moved it and sales jumped from $2000 / week to just under $17000 / week! I started targeting poor ownership / location stores purchasing them and relocating them to stand alone with drive thru stores. Profitability soared.

"As far as centrism is concerned, it depends on their definition of practical. If it means compromising so everyone is a little unhappy and freedom is still pretty well restricted by government, I'll stick with extremism, as such centrism is ultimately impractical -- it goes against individual human nature."

I feel that the "collective good" really defines our human nature. For it clearly defines the NORM. I am an extremist, an optimist, and a CONSERVATIVE (I think).

P.S. Fucking minimum wage went up in Illinois today. It increased a dollar to $6.50. That really pisses me off. The Government, just gave a raise to many people that don't deserve it, so the people that do take it in the shorts! I wish I could raise my prices but the public decides my price not I. Employee rights are getting out of hand. It all started with the organized labor movement, what a corrupt bunch of jackasses. I know so many people that go to college, graduate go to work and feel that their company "owes them something". The reality is nobody owes anybody shit! It's like this Tsunami deal, duh, you live or vacation on the ocean and this is what happens. Or an earthquake in San Francisco, I mean Jesus, is it a surprise when it happens? It is a tragedy, but how come people are already critiquing what America said or has done? How fast we respond. That the president was on vacation at the time and waited three days to say something. I mean man, maybe the guy was trying to assess the situation and respond with worthwhile information. I believe that we should help people in need and "that but by the grace of god there go I". I just get fed up when people critique the generosity and slap you in the face for how you give.

Yea..... I am a conservative!

SteveeT, it is a .rar file, you need to download it (right mouse button click) and then explode the .rar file with a program called winrar, which is shareware. What you end up with is a folder containing the twelve tunes and some jpeg cover art in the folder. You cannot listen to it directly unfortunately. It took me five minutes to download his file via high speed internet. If that is toooo difficult, I found three of his own tunes here that you can listen to directly but I am glad to have downloaded his free album and listened to his take on Satch, Vai, Timmons, YJM, Thal, Gilbert, V. Moore et al, he rocks!!!

PS there are also some videos of Thomas you can watch with RealPlayer...

962- thankyou! Yes the champagne would probably smash in the post, or the postie would probably half inch it! lol!!

Steven- Thanks too! I think that much red wine will be consumed over the next few days. I've nearly had a nervous breakdown over the past few days, no joke! This moving house experience has taken my brain to the brink! We had to finish packing / boxing up / tidying up today, more or less finished thank goodness. I have the day off Friday... it's exciting, bit at the same time a HUGE pain too!

Jazzzzzzzy- that sucks if you and your room mate aren't getting on; good idea to move rooms to avoid any more misery! You can be a crybaby if you want lol!:-) Will let you know how things go on Friday...

Pfields- Cheers, how have you settled in to your new house? Last time we moved, it bucketed down with rain- that always seems to happen while you're trying to make a mad dash with the TV!

Michelle- yep, it's a weight off our minds! Until Friday!

Cheese101- It's funny you should say that, when I was going through some paperwork stuff earlier I found a whole load of stuff I forgot about, old photos and little ornaments etc...

Thanks everyone for your kind words, it really helped!!! :-)

CUTHBERT- i took the quiz.... heres what it said -

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

it's true.... take prescription meds, you get pharmaceutical companies who employ scientists to research drugs, obviously a conflict of interest..... if that researcher doesnt bring back evidence to show drug X is effective for condition Y he won't be paid for long..... trials are influenced by bias, when the research comes back showing drug X is effective the FDA approves it, now insurance companies will cover it and the pharmaceutical company banks..... they hide evidence that shows anything to the contrary, look at prozac and vioxx.... this is what happened with anti-depressants being approved to treat anxiety......yeah, ANXIETY..... the patents on the meds that work (benzodiazepines) like klonopin and valium expired....now everyone can make the stuff and no one makes money cause no one has a monopoly on it....everyone has to sell it cheap, it's now $13 for a month supply....you cant bankroll on $13 a month.....so they get research to show SSRI's are effective in treating anxiety.... which is ridiculous as anxiety is GABA related and depression is serotonin related....two different neurotransmitters, two different drugs.... independent double blind - no drug company bias research has shown that SSRI's, like zoloft, effexor, paxil etc are just as effective as placebo in treating anxiety, but due to the research the pharmaceutical companies paid for it shows otherwise, gets FDA approval, is now all over tv stating it's efficacy, is covered by insurance and the off patent drugs that have been shows for years and years to be effective are touted as being "old, addictive, reserved for those who don't respond to more conventional treatments".....more conventional, you know, placebo.... two docs diagnosed me with social anxiety, forst one gave me paxil.....i didnt take it, second one gave me lexapro.....which is celexa XR, renamed and remarketed cause the patent on celexa expired....imagine... didnt take that either, asked the doc about the meds that DO WORK and he got pissed "klonopin is addictive, u take this or thats all" i said see ya and got the meds I need from india.... this is the shit im talking about

people should be allowed to choose any medicine they want, all medicines should be available to people and ALL information, research, risks, complications should be disclosed to everyone so people can make informed decisions about what to take, people should be allowed to choose whatever medicine they want as long as they know the risks associated with the medicine..... no doctors trying to strong arm patients into taking certain medicines, it used to be that the patient IN CONSULTATION with the doctor chose a medicine, not doctors choosing medicines.....you inform the patient, the patient chooses.....YOU WORK FOR THEM.... too many people and entities getting involved in the lives of other people, thats why i stay inside all the time....i leave to go to school then come home, thats it.....ive gone off on more than one person/doctor/public entity for trying to micromanage peoples lives and decisions....just stay the fuck out, let people make their own decisions - they're the ones who have to live with it.....like the meds, they assume the risks, if they get worse or die thats too bad.....no malprctive lawsuits - you chose the meds and thats it.... would lower ins rates for docs too....anyhow....im on a tangent......ill just buy my own planet.
