Clarky:Happy new year bro.Interesting y mentioned about the electric guitar catching up,i,ve thought that for some time.The acoustic purists i know are hell bent the acoustic guitar is THE way,which is somewhat annoying if like me,y feel y can let loose on electric.I,ve been given that double look of "ah yeah,but can he do it on an acoustic wink wink" shit for a long time & the fact is i cant,much to their cheer with lil overheard convos of "well if he cant on an acoustic,hes not that good"strange how that effected me,i felt so low & useless,but on the other hand,give them a feckin electric t see what noise they make,lol.I feel electric guitar is fighting t become an art form & the peeps stopping it from happening are...........MUSICIANS.I say this because for 4 pro years i spent playing with a scottish trad band,which although extremely interesting was way out of context for the player i had become.Electricity on any level seemed frowned apon,felt like saying ok take the rig away & play t 7000 peeps.It really is stupid & more than probably one of the reasons we find ourselves bustin our buts so damn hard.
A final word.Electric musicians have harnessed the beauty of classical/jazz etc work & have realized it for some time,i just need t hear a certain Les Paul,Tal Farlow,Malmsteen or a 17 year old Jason Beckers "Perpetual Burn" which i happen t think was a landmark for guitar,more than often put down as "widdley widdley"by the no need t get of yer ass & actually do it police.aaaaaaaaaaaaaah ok rant over,lol

Clarky, interesting re tendon problems.. I believe there are two kinds... The overworked overused tendon fatigue kind, such as experienced by classical musicians and the very few metal/rock mofos who actually practice ridiculous fast runs for several hours a day, and then the "incidental" kind. Hurting yourself with a monster bend etc and then having it get exacerbated by continuing to use the digit rather than letting it recover... Just like when we were growing up and happened to strain a tendon in the ankle with a poorly placed kick of the ball. If that happened early in the season sometimes the tendon would never recover till the off season coz we just could not stop kicking the damn ball.. That is the type of tendon problem I am referring to with the heavy gauge, high action, big tension dudes who perform monster bends... SRV must of had hands of steel....

Stevee T, off to see a buddy about some part time work with his construction firm. He and I went to college together. I have reached a time/place/station in life that allows me to be selective with my work habits soooo, I am trying to work an absolute minimum and spend more time with the upbringing of my kids, skiing, golf and music, not necessarily in that order. I wanna get some equipment/software and start recording some of my ideas... I also want to get back into interviewing guitarists/musicians. Plus as I have mentioned on here before, the onerous task of sight reading music (groaan)...
In other words just "tendon" to business LOL

Mikesb – I’m going through the sight-reading blues a bit myself. I have to know ‘An Afternoon In Paris’ By tomorrow at 3PM and have some method of soloing over the changes. The soloing part shouldn’t too hard, ii-V-I, in a couple different keys. But the head. I’m so not used to playing what someone else wants me to.LOL

PFields, hey no problem, I definitely think keeping to the JS1000 is a good idea. I personally think it looks a lot better than the 1200.....I like the flamed blue thing going on. A chrome JS would be the best if you can afford it though! Yeah, it's a shame you can't get a small selection of colours to choose from when you're buying these guitars!

Mikesb - Funny you should ask that. I got in the shower this morning and ,of course, my soap hadn't made it back yet. Kids!! I looked at the fruity soap and just couldn't do it. I dripped all over the bath and got the hand soap from the sink instead. Much better. As for Gary, I have one of those brains that are on ten different things at once. Cuthbert - I don't understand why DWB would want you to stop sending them money. Low overhead or not, medical supplies cost. The more donations the more supplies. I'm involved with Engineers w/o Borders as well as Northwest Medical teams. The two top things that are needed by either outfit is time and money. In that order, but the great thing about money is that you don't have a time frame in which to use it. There may be some end of year accounting things that I don't know about (I can ask the wife), with regards to not-for-profits, but you would think that to have a little extra in the coffers would be a good thing.

arg some universities are plain dumb...they are very aware of exams going on in january and the importance of attending college right before them...so why one university set me an interview date on a tuesday in january is beyond me...i sent a reply slip off saying I wouldn't be able to make it, so they send me a letter back saying I can come to an interview on another tuesday in january...another day when I have an exam...*GROWL*...buffools.
BigBunny Cats rock...especially fat cats, although when I get my own house I'm only ever having 1 bulldog....I'm finished with animals that malt everywhere lol.
Clarky The best thing for me to do is to try each set out then huh...I'll try Hybrids first. Do you ever/ have you ever had problems alternate picking on the low E?...When I do it sometimes I get it perfect and clear, other times I seem to be scratching the string more than picking it lol.
