Mount- You may be hitting the tensioners on the bottom of the bridge and may not even know which is why your detuning your guitar. As for his screams, he does a pinch harmonic, and pulls up on the tremolo arm w/his left hand.

mount......if the guitar is out of tune before you even play it...it may be that you are tightening the screws on the locking nut too tight. I've had the best results just putting them on "snug". If it's too tight...it actually compresses the string out of tune......and that is just "one" possibility as far as your tuning problem goes.....I hope it helps.

Happy New Year Satchland !!

Joe:

I flew from DC to Vegas to see your show on the 29th. Long time fan here. Sorry to hear of your bad health. The Vegas trip was not that bad, but it would have ended with a bang at the HOB. For now I will have to settle for the Live in San Fransico DVD. Get well soon!

you know, i hate the iggnorance of the common musically involved plebian. My brother, he just doesn't feel the passion, the emotion, or feel the absolute beauty when he hears me play any song from joe satriani, steve vai, yngwie malmsteen, gary hoey, and.... well, you get the picture. Even when i play him a track. The words that dribble out of his mouth are, " Man, this guy is trying to show off, he's trying to play impressively instead of making beautiful music." I was stunned, that my brother didn't see the beauty in songs like starry night, or down, down, down. I know that people are intitled to their own opinion and have different taste. But man, what does it take to convince people that fellows of that guitar playing calibur aren't just playing random notes and that they are staying on key, and that they can play chords, etc. It just irritates me, how do i cope with dumb-witted twits who won't admit that songs of complicating playing levels can sound just as beautiful or even more so than a song with a common chord set-up? And i guess it's just that my brother is so commonly used to a person's voice instead of a guitar's.i don 't know, i guess i should just shut-up, i feel ridiculous even bringing this up... i just want to see if there's people who agree with me, i feel quite alone right now... oh yeah, by the way, those last few post, uhhh, that was just a total brainfart, i thought i was just talking to other folks thats why they weren't directed towards you, sorry joe, i'm a guitarist, not a computer wiz

Powerslave, I didn't wear the Granny dress, or Jethro's rope belt, but I thought about getting out my husbands old work boots like Granny's and dancing around in them. LOL! That show was the best! Irene Ryan was the star of that show hands down IMO. She reminded me of my own Grammy, but back in the day when I told my Grammy that, she didn't think it was to funny. lol!

Zinc, have you seen the Vince Neil make-over show on VH1 or MTV (I don't remember which?) I watched it yesterday. His body looked great, his haircut was cool, but I like him blonde better. I wasn't to happy with the plastic surgery. Maybe his face was still swollen, but his chin was to pointy, err, his face was actually to pointy, but like I said, maybe it was still swelled. He sure was a trooper through the whole thing. Kudos to him! He stepped waaay out of his box. lol!

YaYo, nice to see a post from you. Careful in all that rain. You guys are gettin' hammered!

Stevee, when someone mentions Sanford, I think of him grabbing his chest and saying "I'm comin' Weezie!" lmao! Glad you weren't doing that dance. lol!

anibur, Happy New Year! I miss your posts.

Tracie, great idea -

WEBMASTER OR JOE, could someone give us an update on Joe's health. Gett ZZ to make an entry on his dad's behalf if necessary, but please let us know. I know he's only been resting (he BETTER be resting ;-) for 5 days, but we're worried about him. Thanks.

Summoner, telletubby hunting! lmao! I'm against hunting, and I hate guns, but I'm so there dude! LOL!!! Pass the tequila!

guitarsoulo, Austin's lil' brother! Welcome to the board! Do you have a nickname? Drew, Andy, errr just Andrew? lol! How old are you?

Yoda, "Oh, man - the year 2000. That sounds weird, and I'm finally gonna be sixteen!!" ha!! ;-) Dude, I was saying "Wow, it's 1980, and I'm finally going to be 16!" lmao!!! By the time 2000 came around, I was looking towards 36. lol! 2010 - fuggetaboudit! lol! When I was a teen, the year 2000 was sooo far away. lol! It's cool though. I can't imagine how it must feel to live 80 - 90 years and say "shit man, the year 2005! lol! Life is amazing.

VFR, I hope you hear from your friends soon.

Adrián, Happy New Year to you and yours!

Steven, thanks for all the good wishes. Right back at ya buddy!

Suzie, best of luck with the house!

JS_JS, happy birthday! My daughter is also dealing with her friends drinking and getting high. I talk to her about it as much as I can, and I hope she uses her head and does the right thing when the opportunity arises. It also helps that she knows I'm not stupid when it comes to that stuff. lol! I was a kid once too. Good luck!

SupaaDave, hope your SupaaFamily has a great year!

Jersey Jet, happy birthday!

Eva, nice to see you post again, but sorry it has to be about such a sad subject. Such a terrible, terrible tragedy. Glad you FINALLY got your ITLIS. lol! Good stuff, eh?

DCK, 2-fitty ain't bad :-) How many cds sold so far?

Virtuososean, I know exactly what you mean! My bro doesn't seem to get it, either. I took him and a couple of my buddies to the Satch concert in St. Louis, MO and one of my buds has a new found respect for Joe and his music...he loves it! My bro had a good time watching Joe play and he enjoyed the music, but getting people like that to truly understand what it takes to make the guitar "speak" if you will, as Joe does, and Steve Vai and Gary Hoey and others do so well. It's a challenge, but some people only hear a guitar playing and don't notice the incredible talent and devotion and "complexity" (if that's even a word...sounds good!) put into the music. My bro is very musical, so the factor is people have different taste, I guess!

Joe, you have pneumonia?! That sucks!!!! You are in our prayers. Get Better Soon!!!! G.W.

Hi Joe. I'm a new member here, and I'd just like to say I think it's really great that you actually have a section on your site devoted to directly interacting with your fans.

I also hear that you have pneumonia... get better real soon. Don't think you're letting anyone down either. Crap like this happens, and anyone who can't understand that you can't work in your current state isn't a true fan, and you should disregard what they say.

Anyway, pardon the genereic request that follows... but, I'm also wondering if you'll ever have any plans to come to Calgary, with G3 or whatever. Calgary doesn't see many great bands or artists, and I'd personally love to see a show here that I'd actually like to go to. There's more to Canada besides the far west and Ontario and Quebec!

Anyway, get well quick!

-Robbie

If there is anyway to me into the melbourne show it would would be greatly appreciated. Could you please have someone contact me if there is at satch4@bigpond.com and could i please have some imformation on the possible guitar clinics your doing in Australia because it would be such a great oppurtunity. Anyway thanks for taking the time to read this. Keep on Rockin.
