Hi Joe,
i'am back in berlin/germany from my very very sad trip to ventura/ca. It was a dream of mine to spend new years eve 2004 with you, so i become a platinium member. My kids gave me this very special week as a x-mas present. Imagine my shock and frustation to find 6.000 miles away from home and separated from my family a handwritten poster: "...postponed due pneumonia". The fact of not cancelling but only postponing the shows is not very helpfull for me. In other words: nobody will get his money for unused tickets back.Actually i dont think that i'am able to spend another 1.500 $ for a second trip to L.A. I am very sad und unlucky about this.
I hope you will be back 100 Percent very soon. Nobody is perfect, even a perfect guitarplayer. Take care
Mathias

Yoda - it's the 9th of Jan... like this Sunday....
I'll call and we can talk more about it then..
SteeveT - I don't feel like I'm at a dead end... there's tons more music in me...
I just feel the need to out-do myself every time...
and out-doing the Baptist is going to take some out-doing.. lol..
delfino - I'd save double hard and do both... Vai and studio stuff... lol... or prioritise.... go see Vai... then save for the studio kit....
I've not worked out a price for the album yet....
I'll look at all that when it's done and ready for sale..
Steven Wilde - I got the card... thanx bro....
good luck with the midi stuff.... it's grief to get working but worth it...
the Japan dates are in April..
Jan until then is all rehearsals... yuck...
Mikey - "My son.... You have snatched the pebble from my hand!!.... "
give it back... it's mine you goddam thievin' bastard... lmao...
Slansh - you're a very nice player... I'm looking forward to your album too...
alexandre - I have many compositional methods... the key thing I think is not to stick to the same method all the time....
this way you'll have greater variety...
Shell - shit!!!! - where have you been all this time.... happy new year and it's great to see you back again....

WEBMASTER Jon, thanks for the update. Not exactly what I was hoping to hear though. I've never been that sick (thank God) but I know it takes a while to recoup from something so serious. I was hoping to hear he was a bit better than "pretty knocked out". Thanks for letting us know. It's greatly appreciated.
C'mon peeps, keep sending Joe your good vibes and prayers for a full recovery!!
GET WELL SOON JOE! WE LOVE YOU! Rest up, and when you get tired of resting, rest some more!

You must be very bright - must be since you are down under. My wife, when she was younger, twice lived down under, outside of Brisbane if I remember correctly. I think she has told me she has been by/through Perth as well.

civgeek, it's a true gift handed down from generation to generation - the art of tweaking your child. lol! I'll send you an email of the sound clip I played yesterday every time my son walked in the room. It's from the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape. It's one of our favorite movies, and I finally bought it for the kids for Christmas. It makes me laugh like hell. lol! I expect you to use it on your kids! Congrats on the gigs!
mowlie, what's a pair of trainers? I gotta get the whole picture here. lol! Nice place too!

Rocker Lets F-Word Slip on 'Tonight Show'
LOS ANGELES - NBC hasn't received any calls about the F-word that Motley Crue rocker Vince Neil (news) dropped during the live New Year's Eve broadcast of "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."
"Happy f---ing New Year, Tommy!" Neil said to bandmate Tommy Lee (news) shortly after midnight Friday.
The remark was carried to viewers on the East Coast but was edited out before it was broadcast in the West, according to the entertainment trade paper Variety, which reported the incident on its Web site Monday night.
Leno normally tapes his show for broadcast later in the evening but does a live version for New Year's Eve. He had never a problem with profanities before, although the word has slipped out from time to time on other programs.
"The network has not received any calls regarding the incident," an NBC official, who asked not be identified, said Monday.
U2 lead singer Bono used the F-word at last year's Golden Globe Awards (news - web sites), which was also broadcast live by NBC. The network has said it will put this year's broadcast on a 10-second delay.
The Federal Communications Commission (news - web sites), in a ruling issued last March, said the word should never be used on over-the-air radio or television programs. FCC (news - web sites) officials said at the time they had received hundreds of complaints from Golden Globes viewers.
Networks have been more cautious about material they air after singer Janet Jackson (news)'s Super Bowl performance last year
Jackson was near the end of a Feb. 1 halftime duet with Justin Timberlake (news) when Timberlake snatched off part of her bustier on stage, revealing one of her breasts, which was covered with only a sun-shaped "nipple shield." Those involved blamed the exposure on a "wardrobe malfunction."

Anaheim Angels Adding Los Angeles to Name
ANAHEIM, Calif. - Baseball's Angels have a new name, and it's a mouthful: The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
The switch, which will be challenged in court by the city of Anaheim, is intended to help the team market itself to more of Southern California, attract more advertising sponsors and broadcast revenue, the team said Monday.
"We believe that the appeal in the marketplace will be broader," Angels spokesman Tim Mead said.
The city of Anaheim will file a lawsuit to block the name change and hopes to obtain a temporary restraining order in place this week, city spokesman John Nicoletti said.
Anaheim officials believe the change violates the terms of the team's 33-year lease with the city.

Parker - I have 2 that I play now. One is a heavily modified Strat. It has a H-S-H se up with coil taps. It sounds great. It has a comfortable neck but is harder to play than my Ibanez. I'm thinking about stringing it with 8's to help with that. This guitar was actually stolen from me and I found it 2 years later in a pawn shop. I also have an RG 560. This is the one I play the most. It now has a red Tone Zone in the neck, the stock single coil in the middle that I painted yellow, and a green Fred in the bridge. Both of these I've have for almost 20 years. How's the JS 1000 savings fund coming along?

In the latest issue of Guitar World, there's a CD-ROM that has a track off the upcoming Vai album titled "Yai Yai".
Oy.
I never thought I would say this.
I cannot *stand* this song. It's like an experimental Bjork vocal run through digital effects.
*sigh*

My wedding is in 4 days, and I am going to surprise my wife by playing "Cryin" and "Always with me always with you" at the reception with my guitar....Those were the 2 first songs that I played for her on guitar when we first met, so I hope I get the same reaction from her. I am going to be playing pretty loud....hopefully I don't screw up :)

SteeveeT, I did download the tunes from Thomas Bressel site. The kid DOES have the chops... I cannot comment on the production quality as I am listening through laptop speakers at the present time.
Although his site lists "Part 1" and "Part 2", they are both in fact the same.... You will need WinRar to extract the files which are mp3 at 192 kbps. Hell the kid even made CD covers... I am impressed, check it out!!! here

Big Bad Joe!!
Saw you on the 26th at the Fillmore. Even though you felt like crap you sounded fantastic! Thank you for your sacrifice. It's probably what led to your current condition. Also saw you at the Bone Bash, which was the first time I had seen you live, and you were incredible there. You were in a groove that night.
Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that we are all thinking about you. Get rested and well and will see you on the flip side. KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!!!
CHEERS!
JASON
