ZENFISH- That just suck's No drummer. I hope thing's get situated where you can get all the player's you need for your Gig's. Randell, is doing good, Because of His situation, We can't do many stuff together as we did before :-( But We are still Above the number's. And Still really enjoy each other's Playing, and learning from Tony, and John, as well as each other. But I am more adventerous with Guitar music, than he is. He is reall resreved about His performances, and playing. I Love to Go un-charted water's and start sinking, Then quickly get up to speed, and stop from actually drowning! and for some that's just too risky, and Not formidable, That's why I love beck, and Vai's, Style, there are no boundries, and no limitation's. Explore every facet of the guitar and it's cababiliteis, And then just like a flight time at A Supercross event, get as radical, and crazy, as You can! and hold nothing back! Thats why I Love Experimental riffing! Get totaly lost, and overwhelmed, and then if You return good, but if not..Well then your in discovery mode, and the guitar dose the songwriting. I know i have Werid philosophy about the guitar and it's Tone, and vibes. But, I am alway's searching for something, I know i'll never ever find. So it keeps the learning Adventureas, and new! I tire of thing's very quickly. Thing's that are aweome today. i will burn out on them in 5 hrs Well, I rraally am rambling, So Heres' wishing you well, And for Zenfish to retrieve a Drummer that Fit's well, and makes up the Other percussion half!....................................MICHELLE- How Is Your Tooth where the cavity was? is it doing much better? Hope so! Warmest, and Freindly regards!.......................OVATION1-Mike, hey Alway's good to see you! What's up? How Ya' been? I'll bet you sure have been doing a lot of Working, and Playing! eh!? Well, keep up the cool work, and I will try and do the same! Have a great Day!

For the first time in absolutely ages I'm listening to KoRn...seems like only yesterday I picked up the guitar and started a 2 man guitar band with my best friend...which faded away until we went our own seperate musical routes.

I think I was as obsessed with the guitar back then as I am now...and he is a kick ass song writer, he has songs posted all round his room that his has wrote...

I feel so fortunate to have the friends I have, including you guys.

Happy New Year to ALL. I dont get here as often as I used to. Mari - I did get your e-card - THANK YOU.

Slansh - UR a FEKKER. Get that album finished THIS MONTH or I'll kick yer ass.

Mikey - Hope you are well. I was in Japan in September, Thailand too. Be back in Thailand in April. I'm getting around. Moved to NY from Atlanta. Still trying to figure out ways to get SLANSH and SBM over here. I am working it out though.

JOE - I had pneumonia last Christmas - actually flew 2 hours after the doc said i was VERY sick and pumped me full of drugs. I keep penicillin on hand now - strong stuff - in case i get the slightest hint of catching it again. Scared the life out of me. Not sure how you could play - I couldn't even lift my feet. Glad you are recovering. All the best to you, your family and the band.

You know - I gave Joe a copy of Slansh's stuff a couple of years ago - wonder how he liked it. Had some SBM stuff and Flyman's knuckle. I'll give you a new copy of stuff in the near future - You will like it. :o)

Anyway, I'll try not to disappear into oblivion again. Hey - noticed Holdworth is here in NYC on 13th!! I can't quite understand the jazz aspects and am not an avid fan - but a player second to none. Pure genius. Bye for now Ronnie

Clarky: You ought to check out the Vienna Music Library or something like that. It's a new midid library that the composer (who I've done a bunch of work with) bought about a year ago. It's amazing! Everything sounds just like the real thing...I mean, he noodled with an oboe sample and it sounded like a rreal player in front of me! Basically it's a $5000 100gig library, but if your looking for great orchestral midi samples, that's the real deal.

Mikesb- Actually it's simple. Growing up in the oakland berkeley ghetto's, Music, was something that was lived, and not enjoyed. and had no control over the media, and coud not afford Music, that i wanted. So I got stuff srtrictly from the media airwaves! And "freinds" So i had to filter out what was pleasing to my ear, and what was not. all on the same radio. And, I geuss, the refreshing sound of Those rock artist's whoever they were at the time. was great for me! So I geuss, I sort of got them confused. with all that goin' on! BUT as i got older, and Understood more of what i was listening to. It made sense! AND You are right! They sound entirely different, and Have There own uniqeness. It would be hard to NOT tell them aprt! Sorry If I offened.

The Husband Store

A store that sells husbands has just opened in Dallas, TX where a woman may go to choose a husband from among many men.

The store is composed of 6 floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights.

There is however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down except to exit the building.

So, a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband.

On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 : These men have jobs.

The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?" So, up she goes.

The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 : These men have jobs and love kids.

The woman remarks to herself, "That's great, but I wonder what's further up?"And up she goes again.

The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 : These men have jobs, love kids and are extremely good-looking. "Hmmm, better" she says. "But I wonder what's upstairs?"

The fourth floor sign reads: Floor 4 : These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good-looking and help with the housework.

"Wow!" exclaims the woman, "very tempting. BUT, there must be more further up!" And again she heads up another flight.

The fifth floor sign reads: Floor 5 : These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good-looking, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak.

"Oh, mercy me! But just think? what must be awaiting me further on?" So up to the sixth floor she goes.

The sixth floor sign reads: Floor 6 : You are visitor 89,012,996 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at The Husband Store, and have a nice day.

Hello to all of you, I am also a big fan of Joe Satriani, as a matter of fact, he is one of my main influences for playing the guitar, I saw the CD you guys put together and I was wondering if you have in mind doing another one, I have written some instrumental songs, if you do plan on doing one, I really would love to be a part of it.

Thanks and hope to talk to you soon, oh and warm regards for Joe and get well soon from that pneumonia you caught, by the way, is there any chance Joe would give a concert in Laredo, Texas sometime?

First Date Contest Winner

This is probably the funniest date story ever, first date or not!!! We have all had bad dates...but this takes the cake. This just tells you how tough it is to be single nowadays.

This was on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Jay went into the audience to find the most embarrassing first date that a woman ever had. The winner described her worst first date experience. There is absolutely no question as to why her tale took the prize!

Marilyn said it was midwinter... snowing and quite cold...and the guy had taken her skiing to Lake Arrowhead. It was a day trip (no overnight). No, not Marilyn. They were strangers, after all, and truly had never met before.

The outing was fun but relatively uneventful until they were headed home late that afternoon. They were driving back down the mountain, when she gradually began to realize that she should not have had that extra latte. They were about an hour away from anywhere with a rest room and in the middle of nowhere! Her companion suggested she try to hold it, which she did for a while.

Unfortunately, because of the heavy snow and slow going, there came a point where she told him that he had better stop and let her pee be side the road, or it would be the front seat of his car. They stopped and she quickly crawled out beside the car, yanked her pants down and started.

Unfortunately, in the deep snow she didn't have good footing, so she let her butt rest against the rear fender to steady herself.

Her companion stood on the side of the car watching for traffic and indeed was a real gentleman and refrained from peeking. All she could think about was the relief she felt despite the rather embarrassing nature of the situation.

Upon finishing however, she soon became aware of another sensation. As she bent to pull up her pants, the young lady discovered her buttocks were firmly glued against the car's fender. Thoughts of tongues frozen to pump handles immediately came to mind as she attempted to disengage her flesh from the icy metal. It was quickly apparent that she had a brand new problem due to the extreme cold.

Horrified by her plight and yet aware of the humor she answered her date's concerns about "what was taking so long" with a reply that indeed, she was "freezing her butt off and needed some assistance!"

He came around the car as she tried to cover herself with her sweater and then, as she looked imploringly into his eyes, he burst out laughing. She too, got the giggles and when they finally managed to compose themselves, they assessed her dilemma. Obviously, as hysterical as the situation was, they also were faced with a real problem. Both agreed it would take something hot to free her chilly cheeks from the grip of the icy metal! Thinking about what had gotten her into the predicament in the first place, both quickly realized that there was only one way to get her free. So, as she looked the other way, her first time date proceeded to unzip his pants and pee her butt off the fender.

As for the Tonight Show .. she took the prize hands down. Or perhaps that should be "pants down." Now I'll bet any of your bad first dates were not this embarrassing.

Jay Leno's comment: This gives a whole new meaning to being ............. "pissed off."

Apple Unveils Mini Mac, IPod Shuffle

SAN FRANCISCO - Apple Computer Inc. chief executive Steve Jobs (news - web sites) introduced a cut-rate computer the size of a paperback on Tuesday and a tiny iPod that starts at $99, but holds fewer songs than its hard drive-based music players.

The new products seek to make inroads against the traditionally more affordable PC market and against lower-cost competitors to Apple's wildly popular iPod.

The Mini Mac computers, smaller than even some standalone external computer drives, go on sale Jan. 22. They lack a monitor, mouse and keyboard. The 40-gigabyte Mini Mac will cost $499, an 80-gigabyte model $599.

The computer comes with Apple's latest operating system, Mac OS X (news - web sites) Panther, as well as the newest version of its iLife suite of digital media software programs, also unveiled Tuesday.

"People who are thinking of switching will have no more excuses," Jobs said during a keynote speech at Macworld and Expo. "It's the newest and most affordable Mac ever."

The product for the first time puts Apple in the budget desktop PC arena, which so far has been largely confined to personal computers that rely on Microsoft Corp.'s Windows operating system.

Building upon the success in a rapidly growing niche that it already dominates, Apple also is rolling out two lower-priced versions of its iPod music players.

The iPod Shuffle, available immediately, is smaller than most packs of chewing gum and weighs less than an ounce.

Unlike the hard drive-based iPod Mini, it doesn't have a display. There's a scroll wheel for the controls so a user can either play the songs in order or have the device automatically shuffle stored songs in a random order.

Apple is selling two versions of the iPod Shuffle.

The smallest will have 512 megabytes of storage and cost $99. A one-gigabyte version, which holds 240 songs, will sell for $149. The lowest cost iPod is the mini, which costs $249 for four gigabytes — enough to store about 1,000 songs

"We want to bring even more people into the digital revolution," Jobs said.

The iPod has helped infuse new life into Apple. In the past year, the Cupertino-based company's stock has tripled on strong sales of the iPod, which is emerging as one of the 21st century's first cultural icons.

Analysts expect the new iPods will help Apple hold its lead in the MP3 market.

Because many rival flash-based players have just 256 megabytes of storage, Apple is "sticking to its cut-above position," said Susan Kevorkian, an industry analyst with IDC. "There are plenty of people who want an iPod but haven't been able to afford the $249 Mini, so offering these lower-priced players allows Apple to attract not just new users but those who already own an iPod but want an even smaller version."

With the Mac Mini, Jobs is setting out to expand Apple's 3 percent share of the U.S. computer market.
