Guitar Cowboy: If you buy a copy of the Satchurated Feedback CD we'll consider doing another one haah! Kidding....but your money go to a good cause, and there are really great performances/tunes on there, the clips on the website online give you a taste, especially in the case of Clarky's tune, which really develops in a Dream Theatre sort of way. Were still up in the air about another album, but the best way to find out is to hang around the forum and see what develops.

962: Yeah, the library is killer! I had no idea that that leval of realism had been achieved until I heard it. Basically the library is so large because instead of recording one note per octave, then pitching it up or down to create more notes (which is typically done in many midi libraries) this library recorded every note of every instrument in the actual Vienna orchestra, which means you ar actually triggering pure recorded notes every time you hit the keyboard. That's why the library is 100 gigs (mind you it's only 16bit 44.1.....you can imagine how large it would be at 24bit 96khz...probably 3-400 gigs!).

Zenfish: funny you should say that, our keyboard player is likely to leave the band soon. We can cope without her on stage though. The band would fall apart without the drums. I've watched them trying to rehearse with me doing sound levels. Not pretty. Well done to you!

Bahduh: the wicket at the WACA ground in Perth is very hard and this causes the pitch to bounce more. As a result, the Australians (in particular Western Australians) are more used to the extra bounce and use different tactics in batting and bowling. You can leave the ball more because the ball will most likely bounce over the stumps. You also need to pitch the ball up more when bowling.

Big Bunny: the Tasmanian beer is probably Cascade. I don't think Boags have tigers on their beer.

Suzie, haha, no I don't want to offend you really! Sounds like this move, although highly stressful, is an excellent thing for you both!

DCK, dude, you're not far from Broadway Pawn? Here's the score - I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a Yamaha Motion B, a shortscale bass made in the 80's. I had no luck on any ebay, but on the 6th page of results from a google search (!) found one on buysell.com, being sold by the guys at broadway pawn! Here's the link:

http://www.buysell.com/showad.asp?id=27223413

In a couple of weeks when I know I can comfortable afford to buy it, I will do so. Are you really in the area or is it a bit of a detour? (it's 612 broadway avenue). If you are close-by, and it's no hassle, would you be able to check it out for me, just to make sure it's condition is ok? I'm sure it is - it's priced right, but it'd be nice to know, if possible!

JS_JS/BigBunny, hehe, interesting.....I thought it was Smooth Mother F*ck*r! Austin will know! haha
OCPS470, so it's loaded with audio samples? Excellent! I want one really bad! hehe. Decent string sounds can be hard to find....the ones I use are good and they sounds pleasant, but they still don't sound real. 16 bit is ok.......32 would be nice but probably not necessary and yes, huge! It sounds like a great tool to work with
Anybody else watched Desperate Housewives? It just made it over here to the UK, it's hilarious!

Stevee T, If you want to hear Keith Urban at his finest you need to go back before his solo stuff to a little instrumental ditty called "Clutterbilly" on the band album "The Ranch".. Some smokin Tele on that tune...

SOTD "Sleepwalk" from Stray Cats "Rumble in Brixton" DVD. A truly virtuoso performance by Setzer on this tune. Not my favorite kind of music but the man can flat out play.....

Civgeek, we need your daily soap update and maybe some Thomas Dolby lyrics?? "She blinded me with science" perhaps?

Hello Joe and other website members. James B here, currently in Sydney Australia, on tour as a guitarist in Queen's We Will Rock You musical. Yes, I can hardly believe it either; I get to pretend to be Brian May! I am very glad to see Joe is touring Australia. I certainly hope to see Joe in Sydney on a Wednesday in March. However, it may work out that I have a show to do myself that night...I certainly hope not, as Joe is one of my alltime favourite guitar players ever and I would love to be there. In fact, the Aussie promoter is our promoter too, now THERE is a thought.,.!! Best wished to all of you out there. Get well Joe and kick our Aussie butts!! Cheers, James B

Wednesday's Soap Update.....
This morning, since I got a nasty elbow from my wife with along with a request to turn over and "Stop that F#$%in' snoring !" I was a little more coherent as I stumbled to the bathroom. Therefore, I managed, in the dark, without my glasses mind you, to waddle my fat ass to the other bathroom where in the cubbard awaiting me like a beacon of nice smelling clean was a brand new bar of Dial soap. This is not my usual soap. I am a bit of the princess and normally use Aveda soap or sometimes we will get all "earthy" and make our own soap. But, Hail, today I am clean AND I don't have that feeling of being chased by an orange every where I go. So far a good day.

Mikesb - I love Brian Setzer. That guy has a great vibe when he's playing. Having spent a lot of years playing in a big band I really dig the new stuff also. Nothin like having the horns popping behind you as you're soloing. Awesome stuff.

Sotd:

Everyone get their white cowboy outfit and sing (If you don't get that joke I'll post later on it)

With the heartbreak open So much you can't hide Put on a little makeup makeup Make sure they get your good side good side

If the words unspoken Get stuck in your throat Send a treasure token token Write it on a pound note pound note

CHORUS: Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? Subtle innuendos follow There must be something inside

We don't follow fashion That would be a joke You know we're going to set them set them So everyone can take note take note

When they saw you kneeling Crying words that you mean Opening their eyeballs eyeballs Pretending that you're Al Green Al Green

No one's gonna tell me What's wrong or what's right Or tell me who to eat with sleep with Or that I've won the big fight big fight

Look out or they'll tell you You're a "Superstar" Two weeks and you're an all time legend I think the games have gone much too far

If the words unspoken Get stuck in your throat Send a treasure token token Write it on a pound note pound note

Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? (repeat) Subtle innuendos follow, must be something inside
