After the Christmas break and three days of holiday, I'm here again.
Well...I don't really post very much but I often check the messages out, so I have been reading the posts since my last visit and why not to say, a pleasure, not only for all the cool people's messages over here but because it helps me to keep my English alive ;-)

First of all, I want to express my condolences and prayers and my solidarity to all those affected by the tsunami tragedy. I want to mention some of the first events organized by the music world:

Pop Stars for Victims in Asia: Cliff Richard, Elton John, Jamie Cullum, Boy George, Ronan Keating, Bee Gees...

Some big music stars unite for a charity single to help raise funds for the victims of the Indian Ocean Tsunami. The funds will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), which is co-ordinating the British relief effort, with the idea the day after Boxing Day.

Tsunami Relief Efforts: Willie Nelson headlining a benefit concert

Bruce Robinson, Patty Griffin, Spoon, Joe Ely, Alejandro Escovedo and Kelly Willis and the Geezinslaws are among other musicians scheduled for the "Tsunami Relief Austin to South Asia" concert at the Austin Music Hall this 9th January Sunday night.

Dave Koz Free Benefit Concert to the Tsunami Victims

Free Benefit Concert by Grammy Nominated Saxophonist Dave Koz on Monday, January 10th, 2005 to benefit the Tsunami victims.

More than two-thirds of the tickets for a Live Aid-style concert in Cardiff for the Asian tsunami disaster appeal have been snapped up. Around 40,000 tickets for the 22 January gig at the Millennium Stadium have been snapped up, with 20,000 sold within the first hour on Saturday.

CANADIAN MUSICIANS REACH OUT FOR TSUNAMI VICTIMS:

TORONTO (CP) - In what organizers hope will be an unprecedented fundraising event that will make an international statement of generosity, a live, organizers have put together a live three-hour broadcast event to benefit the victims of the South Asian tsunami disaster.
Canada for Asia will air next 13th January Thursday night in prime time on CBC television and radio, and it will feature a who's who in Canadian music and entertainment. Organizers have also issued a challenge to the country's private broadcasters to simulcast the show, which will include Tom Cochrane, Blue Rodeo, Bryan Adams, Anne Murray, Rush, Molly Johnson, Oscar Peterson, Jann Arden, Barenaked Ladies, Bruce Cockburn and, in a special segment direct from her Las Vegas stage venue, Celine Dion.

GERMAN STARS ROCK FOR ASIA:

Aid events for the victims of the Asian Tsumani's are underway - Australia's telethon concert Saturday night looks devoid of anything melodic, apart from a reformed Noiseworks set to play their classic track Touch. In Germany however, a huge concert planned for January 27 is set to feature Scorpions, Europe, Saxon, Edguy, Bonnie Tyler, Doro, Crystal Ball, Bonfire and more.

SWEDISH ALL-STARS COMPILING BENEFIT DVD FOR TSUNAMI VICTIMS:

About 150 of the biggest names in rock and hard rock from Sweden have recorded a song that will be released in a couple of weeks on a special DVD to raise money through the Red Cross for the victims of the horrible earthquake and flood disaster in Asia.
This special DVD will include a documentary of how the song was recorded, a music video of the song plus 10-15 never before shown or very rare videos with great bands like Europe, Talisman, Talk Of The Town (Free Like An Eagle), Lions Share, Pain and lots of other great stuff. SCREAMING JETS TO LEND A HELPING HAND:

On tour in Brisbane to support the release of their new single Right Place Wrong Time, Australian rock icons THE SCREAMING JETS are taking some time out this weekend to help with the Australia Unites appeal for victims of the Asian tsunami. Preceding the concert and national simulcast on the Triple M network, the guys will be dropping by live on air to encourage the public to donate with an acoustic version of their classic hit Helping Hand on Saturday afternoon. The appeal will be aiding World Vision in their quest to rebuild the shattered villages and lives in Asia and the Jets are proud to lend a helping hand on the day. Donations to the appeal can be made to World Vision on 133 240.

ANOTHER TRIBUTE SHOW FROM AUSTRALIAN ROCKERS: WAVE AID - THE TSUNAMI RELIEF CONCERT

Waveaid, a major concert event with over eight hours of music will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday January 29th from 2.00pm - 10.30pm. Such an unprecedented event has sparked one of Australia's all time favourite live bands into action for the evening as Midnight Oil join in to do their bit as part of this massive Australian music fundraiser. Waveaid will also feature live sets by Powderfinger, whose performance will be on the back of a sold out Hordern Pavilion and the Sydney Big Day Out as well as The John Butler Trio, Kasey Chambers, The Waifs, The Finn Brothers, Missy Higgins, Pete Murray and for their first Australian performance in two years Silverchair. It's really kind of you to miss me even when I'm not a very regular poster here hehe, I'm grateful for that. I love this forum! Sorry to hear about your baby's state of health, keep giving him the best of the cares, although I still have some time to have my own children, I have two nieces and two nephews and I know that babys need you 24 hours a day. Additional Creations is the the only piece that is missing in my Joe Satriani collection, what a drap! It has became a very hard piece to find even at ebay, the two last times that was there, I lost the bids in the last seconds! And the average price now is about $40.

I found a simply astonishing site with before and after pics of the devastation of the earthquake and resulting tsunami.

I apologize if this has been posted before. I try to read every post but over the holidays I might have missed a couple.

Slanshroom- When i was laid up, from brokken stuff, or serious wreck's. My Motorcycle pal's, and "fans" would all be there at the bedside, watching Me and talking bout My great Steven wilde crash and burns- and I would Watch the tv, and read...I hated it. I am (was) very active to, and the thought of being imobile, away from the track, and stuck to a bed. It was unthinable. But I studied a lot, and drank all my herbal celestions green tea :-) ate a lot. Actually theres not much to do! I've had 5 ribs busted, and one punctured my lung, That not fun. But, Gee, I sure appreiate You being able to take it sort'a well! How long did they estimate for the healing? Mine it took a half a seson! and even when they were heaaled, I still couldn't do much-That was due to the puncture, I am sure. Anyway, I hope Ya' dont get to bored, If you do, You alway's have Us to chat with! and I am really wishing you a speedy recovery! So You can get back to those aesome Jam's! But I do follow My emotions when writing. I get so screwed up often though, and the guitar dose the writing itself. I find that The guitar is just an extinsion of My felling's and thought's. And They really do get away from me a lot. But it's good thing sometimes, Because, I have never been accused of trying to sound like something I am not, or a rip-off artist. It's great toknow covers and stuff, I do that as daily practice. But to write Your own emotion's in song, and string's and make something out of nothing really floats My ole' Boat! And having it come across the way it dose...Granted a lot Folk's don't see the beneifit in My style at all. But This whole Music journey, to Me is finding what works and what dosen't. and to explore EVERYTHING possible, all style, and every single inch of notational value within Myself. It's tuff, But, as I have said b4 the whole reason for doing this is for the Learning aspect, and the Value of creativity within Oneself. 1 Thing I have learned from all these gifted teachers, It's all in the fingers!
