Thanks to all who sent well wishes for Steven. he had a cascading seisure recently but has snapped back quickly this time despite the severity. I got a chance to go visit and check on him. He's amazing! MIKE-ovation1: I am concerned for you and japan with a tsunami warning of your own! Give us a note when yoyu can and let us know how your doing now. MATT King: Long time, old friend. Hey Joe, new album is sweet. Definitely another step forward for you - yet again!
Just a quick question to ask if you can do a gig in Belfast or Dublin (Northern Ireland & Ireland [Eire] respectively) on your next UK/European leg? Whilst a small population in comparison to the mainland UK, we ARE the best audience you'll ever come across.
You've heard about the place no doubt (both good and bad), and I'd strongly recommend you visit it at least once to sample the people and culture, not to mention the beautiful countryside. May provide some inspiration!!! ;-)
Looking forward to seeing you live sometime soon.

Best wishes for 2005 and beyond.

I know we are all guitar nuts around here, but I just got done watching the second episode of American Idol. I love the first few shows with all the aaagghhh-ditions. There are some people that just need the reality check. And it just makes me laugh.

Cuthbert: yes, I remember the NAMM MAN relation you told me about (as a veteran). Namm man is in his mid 30's it seems, which means that during the vietnam war, he was forced to suck a pacifier or everyone around him would go deaf.

962: Thanks for the info. I know my PC's soundcard definitely doesn't have an optical output. Nor do I have a DVD drive in the PC, so I'm torn between upgrading the current one, or getting a new one altogether.

MariMari: Please take plenty of pictures and have a lot of fun....wish I could be there myself.

Pitch No 8, no I don't have that DVD. When did he start advertising that? was it in the last few days? I haven't checked his site for a bout a week so maybe that's why I missed it! Will go check now...

jazzzzy, oh crap, I knew I had to check something. Can you re-post the link to your soundpage and I'll have a look. I might have to wait till the weekend but I will check it out.....gimme the link anyway bro!

and yeah, I'm kinda *familiar* with the jem neck! haha. Crazy thing.....I sent my RG for repairs to the bridge and have been playing the SA while it was gone. now the RG is back, I'm used to the SA and can't play the RG any more! Guitars are a proper nuisance! I'm also pining after an EJ Strat too, but they're surely going to be a good couple of grand when they come out :-(

Zenfish, I understand your point and why you don't like Toto.....fair enough, but I will just highlight the "not really an improviser" part......that's something else you find out when you see Luke play live.....he Improvises more than most people. He improved a 15 minute acoustic medley when we saw Toto last year, and had a great time with the solos on some of the other songs.
ATN, it's good to see your name here man! Thanks for letting us know what's going on with Steven! take it easy
DCK, I got payment for the Yamaha sorted out last night, and Joe said he'd get it sent today! YIPPEEE! I hope it arrives in one piece!

death cube k: thanks for pointing that out. its been fixed.

962: I know what it means to be getting used to guitars! This one hippie guy on my floor (i seem to have many hippie friends!) was playing his banjo today and invited me to jam with him. His acoustic was so shitty....its strings were literally 1.5 inches above the fretboard. I somehow managed to play a chord (Em) and decided to leave after the "jam" session. It was quite the learning experience. I recently kinda purchased a fender strat but I'm thinking of giving it back. I love it to death but money is tight! If my bro agrees to pay for it I can probably have it. But I really love the maple fretboard. Its got the crunch to it. anyways, here is my link!!!!!111one!!1

Its around 3:40 am here and I cant fall asleep. sucks. My head was hurting when I woke up at 2:30. I decided to take some aspirin but couldnt find the bottle. I knew it was around somewhere in my tiny room. Therefore, song of the day is......

Hy everyone

Just a quick jump onto the site to see whats goin´ on......

Hope everyone ´s ok, good to hear from you Joe, that you´re on the best way to fully recovering!

The last few days were not funny for me..... my Mom got problems with her health and had to go to hospital..... I lost my job, because the firm I worked at has to save personnel costs ....... this year starts not very good for me, looks like I´m out of luck at the moment.....
But in such situations family and friends help so much .....
Because of this I just wanted to thank everyone at this wonderul site to take my mind off my worries and think about other things, ´cause your goin´crazy if you´re thinking too much about such problems.... and I´m looking forward to my birthday, in 6 days I´m gettin´ 27! Happy birthday to me :-)
And I don´t want to get everyone in a bad mood:

So what´s goin´on playing your music instruments and making music ?
I can´t wait to hear about the new Chrome boy.......

Keep celebrating music friends......... tune ;-)

Joe's getting well oredy! joe's getting well oredy! joe's getting well oredy! joe's getting well oredy! joe's getting well oredy! mebe i posted this message late, joe's probly all good and going =D i wana thank you again for coming into my life, joe I'm gonna learn to play the guitar and to write songs until i find that 1 thing that will alow me to play ever so freely and with full confidence, just lyk u, joe. Better done than said. U've inspired to pick up the guitar everyday and eventhough the end product may just be me learnin a few more chords and improving just a little bit more on that string-bend-vibrato, I'll be more than happy to pick the guitar up again the next day and practice some more. I listen to your music most of the time for reference and most importantly, your music is the only sound i can feel. Thanks again joe. I'm yet to see u live!

- The tsunami victims of South-East Asia, especially those from Aceh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, India are getting all the help they can get get. More donations are pouring in everyday to help them get back on with their life, though it's tough cause many lost their loved ones. The only thing that can be done now is show support, and they're getting that from everyone all around the world. May the souls of the departed tsunami victims rest in peace, while the living pray for them and a better tomorrow.

Anyone like Tom Waits? The man is a musical genius. His new album, Real Gone, is sublime.

Was watching Mystery Men last night and was amazed to see that he plays Mr Heller, the inventor. Some of the sounds in his lab (in a derelict old carnival, funnily enough...) have appeared on his many records.

Also, Marc Ribot, his guitarist has a style all of his own. Anyone heard his stuff?

Joe should make a Tom Waits-esque album - full of tinpan alley, drunken guitar melodies. Lying in a gutter being pissed-on by a labrador? Write the album, Joe...

Time for a brew... Dev

Hey all. Sorry I haven´t been on in awhile. Currently studying in Madrid, Spain. On that note, if anyone around here would like to meet up, email me at aschwartzseid@gmail.com. Anyway, things have been good, just very busy. I was on a cruise from the 18th to the 28th of last month, then spent the entire time until I left for Spain on the 4th applying to law schools. We´ll see what happens with that. Anyway, Hope everyone´s doing well. I´ll try and be around a bit more if at all possible in the coming months.
Michelle, you think YOU´RE behind??? haha And I´m rooting for the Eagles because they´re my best friend´s team and my Gints suck.
962, been checking out your stuff that you´ve sent...in a word, awesome!
DCK, Thanks for info on JP´s album! I´m looking forward to seeing which direction he takes this one.
Austin, congrats on the new car! My friend has one of those 3´s and it´s pretty sweet.
Clarky: from what I´ve heard of your music, I´m surprised you even OWN an acoustic haha

962 Hey Simon, is your RG neck like mine ( wide and super thin, flat on both sides) ? If so I totally understand how you feel. I use the RG and my Japanese strat (whos neck I like better than the US strats) live. It always seems to take about 1/2 a song for my hands to make the switch. Nevermind I've had both gutars for almost 20 years. It's actually amazing the small details that your hands can feel.
