A man and his wife are awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.
"Not a chance", says the husband, "it is three o'clock in the
morning!"
He slams the door and returns to bed.
"Who was that?" asked his wife.
"Just some drunk guy asking for a push." he answers.
"Did you help him?" she asks.
"No, I didn't, it is three in the morning and it is pouring outside!"
"Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!"
The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pouring rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?"
"Yes," comes back the answer.
"Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband.
"Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark.
"Where are you?" asks the husband.
"Over here on the swing!" replies the drunk.

From the state where drinking and driving is considered a sport, comes a true story (from Kansas). Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a local neighborhood bar. Late in the evening the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes with the officer quietly observing.
After what seemed an eternity and trying his keys in five different vehicles, the man managed to find his own car which he fell into. He was there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off.
Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off (it was a dry night), flicked the hazard flasher on and off, tooted the horn and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then remained stationary for a few more minutes as more patrons left in their vehicles. At last he pulled out of the parking lot and started to drive slowly down the street.
The police officer, having patiently waited all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and carried out a breathalyzer test. To his amazement the breathalyzer indicated no evidence of the man having consumed alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said,
"I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken."
"I doubt it," said the man, "tonight I'm the designated decoy."
LMAO!!!

One of my friends serves in our military. He is still stateside, in California. He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him and the troops, everywhere he goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so that others may have them also.
He also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at the other day, on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha . He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the US flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly," yes, I always wear it and I probably always will." The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.
A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi woman:
"Lady, hundreds of thousands of me n and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid."
Everyone within hearing distance cheered.
Pass this on to all proud Americans.

Zen, I finally got a CD of Larry Coryell "Offering", a classic recording. Only about 5 more vintage pieces of vinyl left to replace and I will be able to put the turntable into storage!!! I did once spend some time transferring some vinyl to CD but it is extremely time consuming....

Clarky:The latin translation for Lucifer is "bringer of light" if i remember correct,so that would make y a technician right enough, lmao
guitar solo on Blue Bossa/Pheonix Street- Paul"Lucifer"Clark i,m tempted,..........really,lmao
Track changes, hmm, yeah,as y well know, pro bands have a habit of doing that to y,y know, like... look how pro we are...we can change all THIS the night b4 the gig!!!....I recall many a moment with Iron Horse, theyd walk up t me & say "new tune for tomorrow night" & smile... usually followed up with the same chirpy all happy with themself bouncy voice & tell y its easy, yeah right;just as i,m getting over the pre-do i really have my shit together thang.Bro as good as the other tracks undoubtably will be,you have my deepest sympathy, lol
Steven Wilde:Work went well, thanks Steve,i managed t master 8 tracks,i have one more t complete that i,m doing with ol nick upstairs "points up t previous mail"lol & its a wrap,so a very successfull night was had.I should get a chance t listen to your tracks today. On being a beginner. The beginner always gets the true nature of music, its a bit like being a child, your mind is open t all the things & everything is fresh & exciting.Enjoy your time as a beginner bro because one day y wont be,i,ll get back t y after having a listen,a very happy & good day t y sir.
Jazzzzy:Excellent bud,i,m one more step towards the final product after a successfull night in da studio,i figured this would wind up a promo album & i,m going treating it as such,if i manage t cover my costs,i,ll be more than a happy man.I,ll be posting y on its completion & thanks again,ah yeah i nearly posted earlier t say y have a R.R touch, keep up the chops bro, they kick ass!
mikesb:Death cube:Thats Jazzzy turning into a demon,Lmao
Zenfish:Ok friend its good news, bad news time.
First the bad:The lad that owns the studio now wants t live in it,lol, typical, because he doesnt have a home!so we,ll have t make do with what i have here on Sat,thats the bad news
The good news is after we record on the Saturday,on Sunday morning my friend Pau,is kindly giving his time t mix it down with pro tools. We talked last night for the first time in months, basically because i work during the day & he works at nights. If you would like we can jam & record the sunday afternoon with him & his friends at an acoustic volume, mix it & go to the Jazz Si club in Barca for a jam session Sun night.Your wife will not be bored i must add during all this,Tura will make sure of that.Sun we could all go down t Jazz Si for a night out t make up for any time lost. The Sunday session is a straightforward blues or funk jam affair,so plenty room for improv. Each musician only has a couple of tracks t get up & play & it swaps to another,so lots of fxs are out, just a couple of pedals run on batts is a better plan.i,m goin t go down & check it out this Sunday t get an idea.I,m told the standard is fair-good,i,ll be posting y soon with my address & any other info y may need after bro,ah while i,m on it,Pau is from Chile,a great drummer & percussionist with a heavy lean towards indian music, his friend is Catalan & plays Sitar, the bassist i,ll meet on Sun,well, all i can say is it should be an interesting fusion with us added, lol
ballad:If your looking for the inverted snob, audition for the music course of further education in Perth,Scotland, that will put an end t your dilemma, lol

jazzzzzy, sorry to hear about the sleeplessness. I hate that, I usually get it the night before I have a driving lesson, which sucks cause I'm then half asleep when driving, and I don't even have my license yet! haha! Safe!!! Thanks for the link bro!
ballad, haha, I know what you mean. It's crazy....you go abroad and people are so friendly, then you come back here and people look at you like your a national hate-figure. Customer service is at an unsurpassed low here too!
UF Dean, hey great to see you back on here dude, and thanks a lot for your kind compliments! Thanks for checking out the music, I really appreciate the feedback, glad you liked it! Cheers dude
civgeek, this is the thing.....mine is an RGT - thru-neck - and it's neck is slightly different to just-about-every-other RG. It's neck is thicker, but about the same width, and yeah, it's flat across the fretboard! because of the thickness it's more rounded across the back, and the paint finish covers the entire back of the neck. It looks hot but paint isn't exactly fantastic in the smoothness department.
i dunno, I'm just finding it so weird to readjust to. The SA and my Strat sound so much more open, whereas the RG now seems to just sound super-bassy. It's like the actual note being played is fighting to overcome the natural harmonics and feedback around it. usually it's the other way around! And the RGT has a PAf Pro and Fred in it too, whereas the SA just has stock pickups! If I change those for something better I swear it's going to sound amazing!
Sorry, I went off on a noteably long tangent there didn't I?! haha
TASTEY, if the Venue has it's own website then using that to regularly check as and when tickets become available seems to work nicely. if they don't have online ordering you can always just phone. This is what my sister has done for tickets to see Vai's return to Holland. he's not put ticket ordering up on his website yet, and probably won't for another month, but we already have them.....so yeah, that'd be my recommendation!

I was assigned to the Ben Frank in Norfolk in 1986. Later that summer we sailed her to Charleston South Carolina for a reactor overhaul. AHHHHHHHH shore duty, it was the best of times it was the worst of times! In the summer of 89, we went on patrol. In 1991 I was reassign to a different boat.

I really don't want to start this bullshit with you again. I wasn’t even talking to you when you responded to the post about the plenty o liberals. The vibe here is greatly improved when you’re not around. So if you must stay and you must respond to posts where no one is talking to you, could you at least do so with some tolerance for views that don't jive with your own? There is nothing wrong with disagreement, but once again to attack someone personally is just childish and unnecessary. Respond, debate, do what ever you want to, just do it with some maturity.
That is the last response on this issue from me. Go ahead and get the LAST word.

mikesb - Henry is a huge German biker from Berlin who is also a 'soundie'...
I wasn't playing anything from any specific song, solo or riff etc... I was just goofing around... playing fast... whammie tricks... feedback... and improvising riffs and all sorts of stuff.. genrally being tasteless and going mental I guess...
that is until I got slung out.... lol...
I'm sure Henry meant Lukather... lol..
Zen - what do you think about Gregg Howe?
Fablawer - so are you working on setting up some kind of distribution or music publishing Co?
uf dean - lol... I own three acoustics... two nylon and one steel....
I'd really love to have a high quality l/h nylon.. even if I am just a mindless shredder.. lmao..

Clarky Oh no!! Just doing all this for Slansh. I'll get his stuff published and promoted but I don't have the time to work on it like I wish I could. After February I will devote time to getting art and publishing done. Thankfully both Roy and I know several people with record companies and publishing companies - but we'll see what the options are. Martin Furey's last CD 'Belladonna' looks and sounds great (not a guitar CD). Its on our website and has a great booklet insert. I want to get this looking really great for Slansh. And I will :o)
All the best

slansh - you can write what you like on the album.. lmao... you'll have no objections from me.. lmao....
DC ripping out a 'reasonable' song and replacing it with two good'uns I'm ok... which is what he's done...
goofing around with the arrangement of something I've already gone to great trouble to learn I find tiresome...
I'm rather fond of the idea of keeping things stable... the live version is essentially the same as the studio version.... not exactly note for note, but at least with the important stuff like form etc... that makes for a reliable band....
especially given that we'll only rehearse as a band a handful of times....
check your e-mail.......

Happy new year ya'll !
Sorry for the lack of news, Steeve T and Zenfish
I got busy for for a looooong time...
Some very good (greaaaat gigs to come, a lot of compositions to do) and some very bad (my baby left me...)
Mmmh... Some recent musicology studies determinated that when you sing a reverse blues, by reversing all chords and beats, the result is amazing.
The Baby comes back home, the dog is back alive, the car is repaired, the guy find a damn good job and is fuckin' happy at the end.
That's what I gotta do... Ha !
Peace
