mikesb, we went to a Reading Royals hockey game Sunday night. My husband and son got up for some refreshments and left me sitting alone. They really crank the music bits throughout the game, which to me is almost better than the game. lol! Anyways, I'm sitting there by myself and Black Betty came wailing over the speakers. I damn near thought I was going to jump out of my seat! I was like HELL YEAH! lol! They played a bit of it after the Royals got their second goal. I sang along like nobody's bidness. lol! I loved that song since 1970whatever year I first heard it. I was in Jr. High when it came out I think - oh so looong ago. lol!

still about 4 pages behind...

UFDean - you're alive!! lol! Glad to see you back. Good luck with all the things you have going on.

Advice for Men

Dear Friends,

It is important for men to remember that as women grow older it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as they did when they were younger. When men notice this, they should try not to yell.

Let me relate how I handle the situation.

When I got laid off from my consulting job and took "early retirement" in April, it became necessary for Nancy to get a full-time job, both for extra income and for health benefits that we need. It was shortly after she started working that I noticed that she was beginning to show her age.

I usually get home from fishing or hunting about the same time she gets home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says that she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts supper. I try not to yell, instead I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she finally does get supper on the table.

She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. It is now not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after supper. I do what I can by reminding her several times each evening that they aren't cleaning themselves. I know she appreciates this, as it does seem to help her get them done before she goes to bed.

Now that she is older she seems to get tired so much more quickly. Our washer and dryer are in the basement. Sometimes she says she just can't make another trip down those steps. I don't make a big issue of this. As long as she finishes up the laundry the next evening I am willing to overlook it. Not only that, but unless I need something ironed to wear to the Monday lodge meeting or to Wednesday's or Saturday's poker club or to Tuesday's or Thursday's bowling or something like that, I will tell her to wait until the next evening to do the ironing. This gives her little more time to do some of those odds and ends things like shampooing the dog, vacuuming or dusting. Also, if I have had a really good day fishing, this allows her to gut and scale the fish at a more leisurely pace.

Nancy is starting to complain a little occasionally. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. In spite of her complaining, I continue to try to offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two or even three days. That way she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any, if you know what I mean.

When doing simple jobs she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the yard. I try not to embarrass her when she needs these little extra rest breaks. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. I tell her that as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me and take her break by the hammock so she can talk with me until I fall asleep.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Nancy on a daily basis. I'm not saying that the ability to show this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible. No one knows better than I do how frustrating women can become as they get older. However, guys, even if you just yell at your wife a little less often because of this article, I will consider that writing it was worthwhile.

Signed, Bob

Bob's funeral was on Saturday, January 25th. Nancy was acquitted Monday, January 27th.

KRIS RICHARDS- If You like the edge-pro series, Then either one will do ya' They are of the same construction, but, Of course a newer version, with small differnces! I am really liking the Zero-return feel! Myself, and will hopefully be Purchasing an S' body, with the ZR system, You will find that trem's, Bridges, and stuff are soon to become very personal, and to find the right one desired to Your style of playing- What Your musical intention's are. The choices are very unique! and persolable! Honestly, you can't really go wrong, with Floyd rose, ZR- But, make sure if You want to play the trem with any amount of agression, My advise would to be sure You get A double-locking trem System! and they all pretty much stay in tune about the same, I have come to experiance! Pull a litttle here, and there to whip it back into "tune" Have Much sucess, I am on My 2nd year of learning, But, I have some really gifted teacher's, and they go into trem's and all that set up stuff! well, have fun, and! Hope to see you on the big stage! have a great Day!.............................MICHELLE- Hey, I sure hope your doing fine today! It is so nice today here in the alameda area, COLD, But sweet! My ol' ex-is really calling me a lot lately! Why do they do it? I wen't to shopping at mervyn's, and Met this real cutie pie!, She loves guitar Music, and Joe to! She asked me for My number, so Maybe the week might be cool? How's everything with You? i hear Your 4 pages behind, So if'n You don't see the last i posted to ya' I just said Michelle, Hi what's up? and the same ol' doodad's! well now to finish up My coffe, and house cleaning, I hate clutter! Have a very cool nice lovely day! and all My blesing's on the Family, and everyone!...............................SteveeT- Glad to hear great thing's about your new album! keep us Smiling with the cool Music! :-) "before dawn" sold again through I-tunes, and another on apple. they are digital distributor's. "before dawn" was a keyboard piece, i wrote to depict My break up with My longtime Girlfreind Tuesday, from Hollywood, She was so great, But, She has a need!!! And I am NOT Hollywood style at all!(but we did turn LA out once! We rocked HOLLYWOOD! Met Gene Simmon's, He's a real wild son of a seacook! He Liked My whaky tunes though!!!! Anyway, Just seeing how Your doing and to wish You a very nice day! Keep up the very fine work!...........................BIG BAD MOON- Hi, What's up? gettin' a lot of cool riffing going on? hope so! keep the guitar alway's on! and playing something! GIT- They teach you always have the guitar in Your hand's at all times, and 18 hour day's-well that's just part of it! it is a very cool school! I strongly recommend it! They have a lot of cool fetured artist's and have awesome seminar's and speacial function's! You will liteeraly fall asleep with the guitar on a number of time's1 Then wake up, and go-Whoaahh, Oh yeah, That was way cool! and Play what was in Your head, the momment on a consieous, and sub-consiuose level! Hope your doing fine, and Don't stop rockin' ! Remember Learning is the best part of The guitar experiance! For that time will never come again! SLANSHROOM taught me that! He's another of the INCREDIBLE players on the site! Also check out DCK-Mark london's, and Paul Clark's, and also ALEXANDRE, 962, and ZENFISH is awesome to, I dont think he has a website though. and also STEVEET, He dose have a site, and is Extremmely gifted!, BUT, They are all just simply fabulous! Jazzzzzzzy- I'm using a different computer this evening, but guess what- I can't get sound on this one either! The sound thing needs updating, and I don't like meddling about with someone else's computer (especially my father-in law's one!) Sorry about that, I noticed though you had some Ozzy stuff recorded, are you much of a Randy Rhoads fan?

Delfino- shame about that keyboard!

Steven- Hi there, thanks for the e-mail! Am feeling very tired this evening, we've made the mistake of arranging loads of stuff for this weekend, people coming to see the new place etc, and am regretting it a bit now! All of a sudden I feel very anti-social!!!

Steven Wilde, hey dude! yeah I'm good, hows things with you hombre? yeah Alex is still hyped about the recording! My recording setup is out of action now though.....I was using a multi-fx processor cause it has stereo output, and I was running that to the stereo input on my soundcard. But the multi-fx unit has quit outputting anything, even through the headphone socket, so I can't record stereo any more, and I'll be buggered if I'm recording mono! hehe. I will get it sorted out in due course, but it could get expensive!

So, as a result, no new recordings at the moment, but I'm enjoying the process of looking objectively at my gear and finding out about the little nuiances of each different variable in each different instrument! But yeah, we've been working on stuff and discussing ideas and he's still kind of on a high about it, it's really satisfying! Good vibes being aimed in your direction bro :-)

ps. that's a whole lot of middle-name-ing going on there! Respect!

TASTEY, haha, thanks, I'll pass on your compliments to my cat! She seems to have a bit of a 'thing' for me.....I'm her favourite, it seems! It's dead cute though, she's really affectionate!

finally i got in here at long last. i was lucky to log in yesterday.

im having password problems. every time i log in and click on post message the computer logs me out. its really screwing me over.lol

i dont know how i got in 2nite.

962- your so right about lukather. what a musician. remember that gig at the royal albert? WOW! your right about his incredible ability to improvise, ive got sum dvds of him and larry carlton which really show off his ability. the highlight of every show they did on there was a song called "the pump". i dont know whether youve heard of it. its a 14 minute jam, and every version they did was purposly made different. no solos were the same. its gotta be quite an achievment to be able to do this. i hope i get to see him again.

seeing as your a luke fan, do you like dann huff or mike landau? they are both awesome. and also best friends of lukes.

peace
