Jazzzzzzzy- I'm using a different computer this evening, but guess what- I can't get sound on this one either! The sound thing needs updating, and I don't like meddling about with someone else's computer (especially my father-in law's one!) Sorry about that, I noticed though you had some Ozzy stuff recorded, are you much of a Randy Rhoads fan?

Delfino- shame about that keyboard!

Steven- Hi there, thanks for the e-mail! Am feeling very tired this evening, we've made the mistake of arranging loads of stuff for this weekend, people coming to see the new place etc, and am regretting it a bit now! All of a sudden I feel very anti-social!!!

Steven Wilde, hey dude! yeah I'm good, hows things with you hombre? yeah Alex is still hyped about the recording! My recording setup is out of action now though.....I was using a multi-fx processor cause it has stereo output, and I was running that to the stereo input on my soundcard. But the multi-fx unit has quit outputting anything, even through the headphone socket, so I can't record stereo any more, and I'll be buggered if I'm recording mono! hehe. I will get it sorted out in due course, but it could get expensive!

So, as a result, no new recordings at the moment, but I'm enjoying the process of looking objectively at my gear and finding out about the little nuiances of each different variable in each different instrument! But yeah, we've been working on stuff and discussing ideas and he's still kind of on a high about it, it's really satisfying! Good vibes being aimed in your direction bro :-)

ps. that's a whole lot of middle-name-ing going on there! Respect!

TASTEY, haha, thanks, I'll pass on your compliments to my cat! She seems to have a bit of a 'thing' for me.....I'm her favourite, it seems! It's dead cute though, she's really affectionate!

hey joe hey guys

finally i got in here at long last. i was lucky to log in yesterday.

im having password problems. every time i log in and click on post message the computer logs me out. its really screwing me over.lol

i dont know how i got in 2nite.

962- your so right about lukather. what a musician. remember that gig at the royal albert? WOW! your right about his incredible ability to improvise, ive got sum dvds of him and larry carlton which really show off his ability. the highlight of every show they did on there was a song called "the pump". i dont know whether youve heard of it. its a 14 minute jam, and every version they did was purposly made different. no solos were the same. its gotta be quite an achievment to be able to do this. i hope i get to see him again.

seeing as your a luke fan, do you like dann huff or mike landau? they are both awesome. and also best friends of lukes.

peace

The Farting Gnome, hell yeah man, I 'll not be forgetting that Toto gig last summer! that was immensely cool, the whole band were on top form! Bobby's singing was incredible, and Lukes playing was so fresh. I had watched the Amsterdam DVD lots, and then seeing them playing some of the same songs live, and hearing the improvisation going on, was fantastic!

yeah I have Luke and Carlton's "Live In Osaka" CD on which they play The Pump.....it's amazing, they compliment each other brilliantly. I'm ashamed to say I've not heard of Dan Huff.....what's his style and where's he from? I have heard of Mike Landau tho....he's on one of the tracks on Gregg Bisonette's 2nd album, and is very impressive!

Please let me know the titles of those DVD's with Luke and Carlton on....are they official or are they bootlegs, and where'd you get 'em?! Cheers dude, keep on rockin!

edit:

damn me being so slow.....

marimariSRV, please check the board, pleeeasse! hehe, I just looked on andytimmons.com and in the news section it says he'll be signing auto's at the Ibanez booth at the NAMM show!

962- dann huff was in a band called Giant in the '90's. he also does a ton of session stuff. nowadays he's just a producer. you hardly hear of him any more im upset to say.lol. Giants last album was released in 2001. since then...........nothing. its a real shame. still check 'em out. listen to sum sound samples on amazon. see what you think

standout tracks include: "time to burn" and " thunder and lightning" ( from the album "time to burn")

and also a awesome track called " you will be mine"( from the album Giant III)

hope this helps :)

I just saw the news that Satch is going to be showing a new Chrome JS guitar... Anyone know anything about it, like if they are going to start selling them, and if they are, are they going to make more than 500 like the last chromeboys that were made? I really wanna get my hands on the new chrome JS guitar, I'm trying to find out how much it might cost, because it's going to be one of the nicest guitars you can have. Anyone with any info, let me in on it!

Hi, Really great that Joe is playing Melbourne Aussie on 17th March. My 17 year old son has been playing for about 4 years and has been a fan for the same amount of time. Must admit I love the sound as well. Nothing better than driving allong with Satch blasting out the speakers. I am very disappointed that the Melbourne concert is an over 18's only. Means a lot of young Aussie fans are going to miss out. My son and his mates are devastated. Watta you think???

The demon appears again...

dck and mikesb: I had On fire playing on my stereo while recording the solo. I used my new maple fretboard fender strat.

slansh: excellent bro! anytime dude. have you ever recorded with a banjo? I am thinking of this getting this banjo player on my floor to do some jam sessions. Do people in England ever use banjos? later dude.

962: I just bought some Nyquil. yay!!! which means I can sleep well. You cat looks so squeezable! its very cute. looks too soft. damn, now i wanna squeeze it!!!!!!

damm miss namm: nice Bill o Reilly quote "you get the last word!!!" I think everytime you show up, you try to start some name calling like "plenty O liberals" with rest of your "Heil Coulter" and "Heil Hannity" BS. Mikesb had posted a Socratic quote but your conservative ass had to blow it out of proportion and find a reason to start shit again and blame liberals. Hope you had a fun time pleasuring yourself to the Bush innaguration.

a little about me:

18 years old, been playing music since I was 13, guitar 3 years and alto sax and clarinet for 5 years. started listening to Joe's music a year and a half ago or so. live in the right now blistery cold of southern ontario canada for the time being. I play in a local jazz ensemble playing sax and clarinet. I enjoy playing jazz, blues, rock and a assortment of other music except for pathetic pop music lol. Joe is one of my influences as a guitar player along with the other technical master Jimmy Page but as a sax player I would say that Johnny Hodges is my biggest influences. some summer I want to arrange some of Joes music for my sax or clarinet, just ya wont get all the crazy squeals unless I mess up or somethin lol. i love to build stuff, been a Lego fanatic since i got my first lego set when i was like 3. I am gonna actually build my own electric guitar from scratch as I have mentioned before because I want something with a little more power than a squier but at the same time my wood working teacher thinks I suck at building things so it should show him that i aint useless.

the vai bad horsie guitar looks k00l. but......

the RG model is almost exactly like the JEM. Which guitar is out there that competes with the JS? none...

question: If my brother pays for my fender strat, should I return it and get a JS or should I stick with the strat? I am really loving the strat, but the JS looks too tempting.
