yeah see i can rake the strings and play to notes seperately but when i try them together lol its a mess..my pick hand is faster than my fretting hand..im thinking thats what the problem is. after you hit the first note with a rake your suppose to pull your finger off the note?

You can Incorparate pull-off's, and neat little hammer trill's, and trick's to spice up the solo piece you are working at, Like I say give it time start slow, and build up....

humm that seems to work better if i hold the chord down..just all the videos i see they are all over the place...i was under the impression after each note you raked you had to move your fretting finger off.

thanks bahduh..i appreicate the kind words..i will take your advice steve...so it doesnt matter if the notes ring into each other..thats why i thought you had to move the fret hand so quickly so the notes wouldnt ring into one another.

I have found the best way is to pick a piece of music, or a set of notes i want to work on, and go over them very slow, and work up to speed, and then add little stuff, as it come's to sort of add cool little vibes-
And ALWAY'S practice to a metranome!!!

You will be able to work your finger's more fluidly, and then You will have complete control over each, and every srting! and they will will flow much more fluidly...

Another cool thing, is to sweepick all 6 string's, all the poer chord's! and move up and down the octave's Nuno Bettencourt, and Joe, Vai, and A host of other's use this, It's pretty common, but it's sound's cool fast!

Espeacialy speedmetal, and heavy stuff, the technique is quite simplistic, But It's the emotion, and the feeling, and the way it's written, that makes it speacial, When I learned "up inflames" and "love thing" surfin' and a bunch of other's They all seemed to be in the same general theme with slight general pattern!
