962 and Dr. Mindcrime: Thanks for the information on the JS series tremolo systems. After swearing up and down that my next guitar would be a non-tremolo (I still want an ESP Viper Standard), once I saw pictures of the JS1000BP, I had to have it.

The Jemfest sounds cool....do they also display other Ibanez models as well?

I've never been skiing or snowboarding, but I wouldn't mind trying it sometime. Just remind me to stay off the Sony Bono and JFK Jr Memorial Trails.

Yes, there has been some negativity here as of late. But if you look at Alexandre or Baduh, they're *never* negative. Reading their posts will always make you smile. Then again, so will Michelle's ordeals with spiders! *grins, ducks, and runs*

Re: Michelle

i totally understand where your coming from :)

when WSPA send me something out I have a look thru it - but then i put it in the recycling bin because the photos are sad. but it's good to know they are trying to help the orangutans & stuff :) i give them $15 a month - not much, but it's something :)

the thing is - i understand we have to kill animals to live - like livestock & that. but when it goes over into senseless cruelty & making an animal suffering for a long period of time.....that just freaks me out! i have to pray to God to help my brain, because i can't stand the thought of things suffering.

did you here about the Dolphins that saved some young swimmers in New Zealand? i think it happened in December. a group of young Surf Lifesavers were training - & the adult with them saw a White Pointer underneath them - but he didn't want to panic the kids....so he didn't tell them it was there. then a group of dolphins surrounded the group & protected them from the Shark! :D Wow! one of the girls said 'oh my gosh we're getting attacked by mad dolphins!!' (that's not an exact quote, but she said something like that) it wasn't till they got to shore that they realized the dolphins saved their butts!

horray for dolphins! BigBunny... . . . .......

here it is Dolphin story

Nov 23, 8:23 AM (ET)

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Reuters) - A pod of dolphins circled protectively round a group of New Zealand swimmers to fend off an attack by a great white shark, media reported on Tuesday.

Lifesavers Rob Howes, his 15-year-old daughter Niccy, Karina Cooper and Helen Slade were swimming 300 feet off Ocean Beach near Whangarei on New Zealand's North Island when the dolphins herded them -- apparently to protect them from a shark.

"They started to herd us up, they pushed all four of us together by doing tight circles around us," Howes told the New Zealand Press Association (NZPA).

Howes tried to drift away from the group, but two of the bigger dolphins herded him back just as he spotted a nine-foot great white shark swimming toward the group.

"I just recoiled. It was only about 2 meters away from me, the water was crystal clear and it was as clear as the nose on my face," Howes said, referring to a distance of six feet.

"They had corralled us up to protect us," he said.

The lifesavers spent the next 40 minutes surrounded by the dolphins before they could safely swim back to shore. The incident happened on October 30, but the lifesavers kept the story to themselves until now.

Environment group Orca Research said dolphins attacked sharks to protect themselves and their young, so their actions in protecting the lifesavers was understandable.

"They could have sensed the danger to the swimmers and taken action to protect them," Orca's Ingrid Visser told NZPA.

ibanezmike and pp0, the first thing to do with a JS1000 is give the trem loads of sh*t, then unlock the nut, give it a bit more sh*t and tune it. Give it yet more abuse, tune it again then lock the nut. Check it's tuning with the nut locked....it should be ok. If there's any fine adjustment needed, use the fine tuners....if there's any major adjustment needed, unlock the nut again.

It takes a good couple of months (or 3-4 weeks if you play a few hours a day) for the bridge to settle, and when it does, it'll stay that way. That said, the Edge Pro bridge isn't as stable as the Lo-Pro Edge, but I'd imagine the Edge Pro II (this year's incarnation of the Edge Pro) is slightly better than the 03/04 build.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Joe....I know you said you know it's not his fault, but unfortunately he has no say in what happens on the Ibanez drawing board. it's all about cost, and committees and board meetings. The Edge Pro design is being introduced across most of the higher-end Ibanez range. The RG's, jem's and JS's are all getting the same bridge, while the S's get the ZR trem, which cuts down on cost and production times immensely. It's much easier than running 4 or 5 different permutations on a Floyd Rose design, like they used to.

jazzzzzy, it pains your ass to eat any criticism, there's the rub! I totally agree dude
Steven Wilde, yeah i'm not bad bro, how about you? Enjoying your element I hope?! things are not bad here....I still gotta save a bit of money to replace the multifx pedal, but for now I'm using the line out on my amp straight to the line in on my sound card. it's mono, but it's cabinet voiced so it's not too bad. I've been working on/recording a sort of odd-ball jazzy thing with a touch of blues thrown in. I have no idea where the influence came from, but it's good fun, and just strange. It'll sound good when I work out an appropriate arrangement and have a good think about it....it's definitely not one to be rushed! hehe.

Regards passing up dates with 2 hot ladies....that's hilarious! haha, what a fine example of self restraint. I totally get what you're saying though, me and my girlfriend split up last summer (which was a GOOD thing) and I've been achieving more of what I want to do ever since....no distraction! take care bro!

powerslave, no problemo, and, for your interest, read the above message to ibanezmike and pp0.

"Namm, a few days ago you mentioned you had the chance to see The Surreal Life. Funny as hell, wasn't it. LOL! Verne is a freaky dude"

I was visiting my brother last weekend and he had it on at his house. I had never seen it before, but I LMAO. The return of Peter Brady, living with Minnie Me! Funny stuff.

Sorry to see your steelers go down in flames, but last year I bet before the season that the Patriots would repeat. The deal was that people had to give me two to one odds and place a minimum bet of $100. I had three takers. So if the Pats loose in the superbowl I am out $300. If they win I am going to take my $600 and my wife to Miami. Any word on TO. being healthy for the Super Bowl?

Big Bunny - Don't take offense at this it is just a question. Why do you seem OK with livestock being used for food but get weird about dogs being used. I'm not a vegatarian by any strech of the imagination and honestly have issues with most vegatarians. I was just curious. Nice factiod about the Capybara. I used to watch a lot of nature shows and I remember these giant S. American guigea pigs. The Anacondas like them too. The big rodent we have up here is the Nutria. It looks like a beaver w/ a rat type tail. UGLY.

Bahduh - Mark, try writting your posts in MS Word, then copy and paste to the board. If it doesn't go through you still have it. Then try posting it in two parts. This will save you some aggrevation.

962, Ibanez Mike, PPO - If the nut is locked. what would cause the trem to go out of tume. It would seem that if the trem is set up right and the spring tension matches the string tension ... The only thing I can think of is some friction at the posts. Am I looking at this right? I've just never had problems with either of my trems once the strings were streched and the nut locked.
