Another cool thing, is to sweepick all 6 string's, all the poer chord's! and move up and down the octave's Nuno Bettencourt, and Joe, Vai, and A host of other's use this, It's pretty common, but it's sound's cool fast!

Espeacialy speedmetal, and heavy stuff, the technique is quite simplistic, But It's the emotion, and the feeling, and the way it's written, that makes it speacial, When I learned "up inflames" and "love thing" surfin' and a bunch of other's They all seemed to be in the same general theme with slight general pattern!

Delfino, haha, and that's why you are going to do better at school than i did! hehe. Good move on booking the table at the chinese, that should be a cool evening out! Hope you're feeling better today, take it easy mate

Steven Wilde, I'm diggin your new website man, it's very nice! This weekend I should get the opportunity to check out some of the tracks you've put on there (finally!!!) and I also gotta check out the rest of jazzzzy's soundclicks that I don't get to today. Anyway....yeah I'll get a chance to check out your stuff soon, but until then, my question would be "what about guitar9.com?" just thinkin that might be a good place to try selling your work, they're a good community, especially for new musicians!

Hey that's cool about the *new* guitar! it seems the 80's is a really good vintage for guitars....it was a period when it still took a while to make a decent guitar, so they're all of a fairly high standard, whereas these days it's mostly just mass-production crap. I'm really looking forward to getting my bass.....it too was made in the 80's, and sounds fat! yeah the new tune is going allright thanks, I've improved the arrangement and done a few drum edits, it's sounding groovy!

tune, happy 27th birthday, hope you had a cool day! What's it like in Vienna right now? I put the TV on on sunday to watch the men's Downhill from Kitzbuhel, and found out it had been cancelled cause there was too much snow! haha
Suzie, haha, I'd not noticed the sorets/Ballesteros thing! Well done Lucia, you managed to fool britain! hehe
Lucy, that's a cool surname! Are you into archery?! hehe. You should buy you a crossbow
estrela, yeah The Satch Tapes DVD is excellent isn't it?! And I agree with Stevee T, Joe really should make some more videos....I'd love to see videos for Lifestyle, If I Could Fly and I Like The Rain!
cheese101, yeah, unless they missed a "j" and it's actually John-Paul Jones! haha. So, another tour with Petrucci.....I wonder why they couldn't pursuade someone else to do it?!
Stevee T, you're a nutter! haha
TRJS100, thanks for reporting what you heard on the Mark And Brian show! Finally, proof that EJ did have a good time! Too many shallow bastards claim that him and vai didn't get on and all sorts of nonsense! i'd love to see Eric on G3 again, he's still the best guest "G" there's ever been!

More Joe videos a la satch tapes?

Just say no!

These things cost a lot of money, where for the cost of just one or twp videos, they could easily shoot a live concert dvd (eg. g3 '05). That would be much less cheesy, far more often watched, far more often bought and a lot more sensible for a guy like Joe...

Michelle - Time to move to VA. The endangered Virginia big-eared bat — Corynorhinus townsendii virginianus — would become the official state bat

Another beautiful day in Oregon, CLouds and Liquid Sunshine, 55F for a high.

SOTMorning - Somewhere I Belong, Linkin Park

Mikesb - Memories!!

Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep it alive

The road is long, there are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day

CHORUS:
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know, up where the clear winds blow

Some hang on to "used to be"
Live their lives, looking behind
All we have is here and now
All our life, out there to find

The road is long, there are mountains in our way,
But we climb them a step every day

CHORUS

Time goes by
No time to cry
Life's you and I
Alive, today

CHORUS

I want his hat - Try Power Tabs. There are a lot of tabs availible. It is free and with the software you can write your own stuff also. Feel free to ask more detailed questions as there are some great players here with lots of knowledge.

EDIT: forgot an 's'

Civgeek, my memories of that duet are remembering just how far Jennifer Warnes stayed away from Joe Cocker as he writhed through his toned down, but still freaky looking spastic gyrations.lol I recall as well that there was no embrace at the end of the song either, quite a contrast from say Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush???

Thanks to everyone who remarked to me! From yesterday morning to today there were so many posts from so many places. The web is pretty amazing.

Steven Wilde - what is your website, I'd like to check it out. Learning to play is fun on my own but I can use all the help I can get. Chords seem to come failry easily to me, but reading notes and playing solos is kicking my butt. I guess it takes time for the fingers to learn to move and the mind to remember where the notes are. I'll get better.

If anyone else is going to be in Vegas for the April 9th show let me know. My wife and I are arriving during the day and are having dinner at the House of Blues before the show. It would be a kick to meet some other friends of Satch for a few drinks.

Off to Work
