If anyone is thinking of buying a ticket to see Joe Satriani play at The Forum in Melbourne Australia on Friday, March 18 or Saturday, March 19 please let me know. I have a ticket for March 18 but would like to sell it or swap it for a ticket for March 19 as my birthday is on March 18 and my wife is very unimpressed that I have bought a ticket for March 18, I bought the ticket before the March 19 show was even announced. Delfino, dammit, now I feel really bad. Thanks for telling me that, I shall contact those who forwarded it to me and let them know. I think the concept of that being a joke is almost as sick as it would be if it were true.....there's some twisted f*ck*rs on this planet that really want locking up :-(
jazzzzy, yeah I checked out Peter's guitars. They're pretty awesome aren't they?! I'm still in awe at the fact that he only charges $1000 as well!
Powerslave, It'll have to go on the CD Wanted List.....which is about as long as Godzilla's arm.....that sounds familiar! hehe

there's no debate to have, because we're both on the same side :)
i know what they do in Korea & China & other parts of Asia.
i've seen the photos of the dogs waiting for their turn to get their throats slit. but you know what - i can't stop what goes on in those countries. but when it comes to my own, Australia i expect better from people.
i've been a member of WSPA for a while now & i've found out about the worst animal cruelty in the world! it breaks my heart to see people in Bali carving up turtles whilte they are still alive. there's no excuse for it - they use religous reasons as an excuse to torture thousand of these wonderful things.
and Bile farms in China are just awful - death is a release for those poor bears :(

Jazzzzy - The sitting down is the only reason I can think of. It been done that way for so long now it's just tradition. Plus if you put buttons where they are on an electric, the guitar is all out of balance. That's why most "strollers" use the sound hole strap. Beyond that it's anybody's guess.
Delfino - I feel your pain. This week is Chemistry week with the mid term finale on Friday. What a way to end the week.

Civgeek, Jazzy, I think that yes, classical is meant to be played a-sittin with thumb firmly placed on back of neck and therefore another mechanical (screw or other) intrusion into the soundbox was deemed uneccessary and a potential nuisance to the soundbox vibration and true acoustic sound. Nothing more nothing less... I also think there was/is a move afoot to make it as humanly difficult as possible for dudes and dudettes that play classical to busk...lol

CLimber - I like the site. It didn't take that long at all to load. (broadband) In the Band section there are no names. Not hard to figure who's you at this point, but something to possibly add later. Other than that nice job. You should check out this site.

I've been a fan of the guitar for a long time and also of Joe Satriani, and up until recently have'nt had the drive to start playing.
I bought myself a cheap guitar to learn on, but would love some pointer and starting tips, I love the blues and wanna play my way towards some good blues.

Civgeek, I never laughed so hard as I did a couple of years ago when it was reported that Mr Manilow had broken his nose. The paper I read speculated he broke it leaving a friends appartment in a hurry in a building with "width challenged" hallways!!!
Got some Carpenters or Captain & Tenille lyrics for us next?? Perhaps Muskrat Love???
