big bad moon 1889,

less might mean more on your DS-1 setting...you might what to try rolling off on the amount of distortion you have it set on.

If you listen to Joe's sound you...should...notice that's he's not really that distorted...you've gotta play around with your gear to coax the best sound out of it...try a bunch of different settings until you find the best ones that fit your ear!

Hope I've helped...you gotta kinda pave your own way...

...Ok...I leave the room for 5 minutes to 'round up' my cats and put them in the kitchen for the night, I walk back in my room and having left my tv on, there is a guy who is the spitting image of the bad-guy from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" cutting up a human body donors ball sack on channel 4.

For the love of Haagen Daaz WHY?!...*breaks down*...Its something I really didn't need to see.

I think one day my nads will stop hiding...but until then I will be talking like I've inhaled a lot of helium...

Clarky I love these hybrids they feel so 'fluent' to play on, but I really like my Low E being a .48 for some reason...wonder how a .66 would sound as a Low E when every other string is from a set of 9's....

Whooo band practice tomorrow, I'm gonna' be mostly playing bass, and although it isn't my main instrument I am really, REALLY looking forward to it.

Hi everybody!

STEVEE T tks a lot! LOL (now I know!! ) at work I laugh out loud and everybody look at me and laugh too! I like laughing! this is the only way.. you know what I mean... to live

................................................................................................... BIGBUNNY: could you send me that interview that you scanned? my email: b.bottura@terra.com.br I'd appreciated! feel free to send me anything about Joe!

..............................................................................................

STEVEN WILDE: You and Stevee T are great ! I noticed how you both teach and encourage others guys that ask for help! congratulations!!

................................................................................................. KD6aaj / Bahduh : thanks to the "wellcome", yeah BAHDUH I 'm lucky! and I live in a very nice country, there are great people here, and samba is very good... but I prefer... ROCK AND BLUES!! I think that India is a very different place to live, isn't? I used to read things about meditation, OSHO's history, incense and everything , and I wonder if all those things are really serious in India or it is only a big commerce here in ocident. what do you can say about this to me?people in India practice meditation? ...................................................................................

962 Hi !!! DVD Satch tapes is great! and I love every thing that comes from Joe, it doesn't matter clips or live show, I'm Joe's fan , I love his work! But I have to agree that DVDs like G3 is more pleasant to watch, musicians in a show are much more spontaneous ...specially Joe. That songs that you mentioned are awesome! this album "is there love in space" is really special! but there is something magical in "just look up" .... and the vocals of "lifestyle" are great! and Bamboo? wow! wonderful! .............................................................................................

jazzzzzzy! Hello! I like you very much! I was reading that you had a terrible night, it was 3:00pm when you wrote "i'm tired", sorry but I laugh a lot!!! you are funny!!! and you mentioned that you was listening to "WHY", I love this song! Why didn't you sleep last night? tell me about you, are you a teacher? ............................................................................... good night to everybody! it's 11:00pm here..... kisses! LOL !!!

I have a ticket for March 18 but would like to sell it or swap it for a ticket for March 19 as my birthday is on March 18 and my wife is very unimpressed that I have bought a ticket for March 18, I bought the ticket before the March 19 show was even announced. What Is Love?

A group of professional people posted this question to a group of 4 to 8 year olds. "What does love mean?"

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

See what you think:

When my grandma got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandpa does it for her now all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.

Rebecca- age 8

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouths.

Billy- age 4

Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving Cologne and they go out and smell each other.

Kari- age 5

Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French Fries without making them give you any of theirs.

Chrissy- age 6

Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.

Terri- age 4

Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.

Danny- age 7

Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My mommy and daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.

Emily- age 8

Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.

Bobby- age 7

If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.

Nikka- age 6

Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.

Noelle- age 7

Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.

Tommy- age 6

During my piano recital, I was on stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.

Cindy- age 8

My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.

Clare- age 6

Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken.

Elaine- age 5

Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.

Chris- age 7

Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.

Mary Ann- age 4

When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.

Karen- age 7

Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and doesn't think it's gross.

Mark- age 6

You really shouldn't say "I LOVE YOU" unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.

Jessica- age 8

And the winner was a 4 year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly man who had just lost his wife. When the child saw the man cry, the little boy went over into the man's yard and climbed on top of the man's lap and just sat there. When the boy's mother asked him what he'd said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

Hey Joe, my husband and I are glad you are feeling better! I just want to tell you first off my husband idolizes you. You are an amazing musician, composer, performer and more! He has learned to play some of your songs, and when we were in Maui last year, all we played in our rental convertible was the extremist over and over. It's our favorite cd! I especially love Rubina's song. You were also the inspiration for my husband to learn how to play the guitar when he was 12 years old! (we're 25 now)

BIGBADMOON- Hi, Hey You shouldn't feel bad about the string winding, On A locking Floyd! It is very tricky, and depending the type you have! I have found a way, Well People have been doing it for year's, string the it from the ball end side! And start at the headstock, Then, work Your way down. It is environment freindly to No cutting off the bal end's. And it dose take A presumably shorter time, Onece you get the technoque down! Good Luck!..............................TUNE- I am so glad Your Birthday wen't well! Many cheer's here! :-)

S. WIlde: If you thread the strings "backwards" (so to speak), how do you do the windings around the tuning pegs? Before, or after you lock in the free end at the bridge saddles?

Powerslave - If you string the from the headstock to the bridge, you lock the strings in the bridge then give just a little bit of slack and start winding. Now one other thing that I do is make sure that I have a few windings around the peg so that if I break a string at a gig, and I normally do this right at the bridge saddle, I can loosen the nut slide the string down the 1/2 inch that I need and retune. This makes for a fast restring and more importantly gives me a string that has beeen stretched and all that, so I stay in tune for the rest of the show. Since I am doing bar gigs that could be four hours. Like on New Year's when I broke a string at the beginning of our second song.

kd6aaj - Ed if you can give me the time stamp for the passage, I will Power Tab the section out of my Autographed (had to put that in) Flying in Blue Dream Book and email it to you tomorrow. Either post it or send me an email. In fac,t if you want to send me or tell me what Powert Tab you are using, I can compare it to the Cherry Hill version and get back to you.

EDIT: Can't type!!

www.fast-rewind.com/crossroads.htm

what an assfuck, "we sped up vai's parts some" sure Arlen....

Arlen Roth -

"I worked on the music for Crossroads from day one. First of all, I wrote and played all of Macchio's parts right from the beginning, including teaching him 4 days a week, for 2 months even before we started filming. Almost all of his parts were played by me, and improvised on the spot, because I knew the "vocabulary" I had given him on the guitar, and what he could "fake" accurately.

I directed the guitar scenes, and the original "duel" at the end was musically different. It was a slide guitar duel between myself and Ry Cooder (made much more sense than this heavy metal nonsense!), it was real blues! Cooder was also supposed to play the evil part on screen. When he found out he'd been dropped by Walter Hill, he really got pissed off! So, in walked Vai, and then we re-recorded the ending. They actively pursued him, it wasn't some receptionist's "find".

We were all dead-set against this musical destruction of the film, but Walter Hill and Tim Zinneman had no idea what they were doing about music. That's why Walter let me sit in the Director's chair when the guitar scenes were shot!

The blues band and bar scene were actual re-creations of what I did in real life while we were on location in Mississippi! Ralph saw me do that, and said he wanted to do that in the film! He also chose "Landslide", an original piece from my first Rounder album as the piece he plays when standing at the "Crossroads!"

The end sequence actually features the playing of Vai (sped up sometimes) Bill Kanengiser (classical) Ry Cooder and me. Cooder only plays two parts for Ralph in the movie. The rest is all me, and the classical is played by Kanengiser (who has also made 2 instructional videos for my company, Hot Licks Video!)

After coaching Ralph and directing the guitar scenes for Crossroads, I was approached by Oliver Stone to do the same for "The Doors" movie. I turned it down though, the money was lousy, and Frank Whaley didn't want to bother with learning the guitar for his part of playing Robbie Krieger!"
