Estrela: You'll need Real Player, which is available as a free download from http://www.real.com
I generally find that Real Player gives me better audio playback quality than iTunes does. Windows Media Player is comparable if you use the DFX audio enhancement plug-in.
Every time I watch The Satch Tapes DVD, I get cracked up at Nigel Tufnel at the end.
Does anyone here have a copy of The Reel Satriani?
I picked up a copy of the March issue of Guitar World today....it's a tribute to Dimebag Darrell and other guitarists that died before thier time. : ( It also has a review of the JSX head and seems to be flying off the rack...I got the last copy.
Ugh...weather forecast is calling for 8-10 inches of snow here. Blah.

kd6aaj - Got the email, thanks. Weird about the other civgeek. I went through a bunch of different mutations of Civil Engineering Geek before I found one in yahoo that didn't have a number with it. Oh well some much for being original!!
Steven - You have a good weekend too. Not sure I'll be around this weekend. The wife and I are without kids for 36 hrs. WOOHOO!!!
Michelle - I just killed a big ass spider about the size of a quarter. I know it wasn't one of those Aussie spiders that ride on the mud flaps but hey I did my husbandly duties. Stay Warm.

WHOOOOO 18 TODAY
Legal drinking age atlast...even though that hasn't stopped me in the past.
Remember that university I was moaning about a few weeks ago because they kept giving me appoinments during stupid days in a month plagued with Exams, I phoned them and told them I had an exam on the day they wanted to interview me and asked if they would reschedule it for after the 29th of January, they said "Ok, sure"...well they sent me a letter today saying I didn't attend my interview and that they had withdrawn my application...so many words come to mind to describe them right now but I'll contain myself and try to make a good impression when I phone them to tell them how wrong they are.
I am also now somewhat rich...£205...its the most money I am going to see all year.
Looks like I'm going to have a good start when it comes to saving for a new guitar, and also I'll be going out a lot more.
Steven Wilde lol...I'll remember to stand out, I've promised myself, I'm going to dress formal, but I'm not going to look like an ass and wear a tie...I mean what do they care if you dress formal they just want to know if your social and you've got the motivation to get onto their course lol...
Take care man, the new track I'm working on is coming along nicely, a nice 80's keyboard groove going on in it :-)

It went something like "You do more coke, so you can work longer hours, and make more money, so you can do more coke, so you can work longer hours, so you can make more money, so you can do more coke" and it shows this guy walking around inside a square box. It's one big circlejerk, and that ain't no joke.Laters bro

Stevee T, yeah the Yam's nice! I wouldn't usually get a guitar in black cause it shows up scratches too easily and is kinda boring, but I couldn't afford to be picky - it was the only Motion B I could find for sale anywhere in the world right now. Admittedly, I didn't go through every google search result, I stopped at the first one, but the chances of finding others, from as reliable sources, are slim. I need some bass compression now so I can record properly....I recorded some yesterday, and now understand why bassists need compression! hehe
Clarky, crazy, I always thought the Breed was meant to be a watered-down Evo, a-la-PAF Pro, just like you said. I guess we're wrong! With all that mid ir must sound pretty fat then! I'll have to listen to some tracks with it on and see if I can hear the differences...
juju, keep up with the pain.....your fingers will go hard in about 2-4 weeks, depending on how much you play! And on air guitar....yeah it made sense, and I think I probably would play the right notes, yes, but I don't play air guitar cause it looks well stupid! hehe
civgeek, is the 5-way switch you're using the same as the one in the Jem? I would guess not, cause Ibanez use loads of different switches for different things. You could either: take it to a shop and take advice on wiring the neck pickup; or buy a DiMarzio 5-way switch and do the wiring again, according to their schematics.
mikesb, "just make me weak in the knees"....hahaha, yeah I think I know the one! I really dunno what I'd say if I bumped into her on the street...
Ibanez89, she did ask about his health, in a way....she said something like "I hope you are better" which is as good as asking "how are you?"
LucySorets, if it gives me an excuse to take a vacation in madrid, I'll play darts with your whole family! hehehe. And regards Jan Cyrka, i'm ahsamed to say that's someone I've not heard of :-( Tell me more!
Delfino, Happy Birthday amigo! Hope you have a rockin time this evening! take it easy mate...
estrela, hi! Thanks, yeah i'm real pleased with the bass, it's exactly what I needed, especially for teaching purposes! I'm glad to see your enjoying listening to "Searching".
I was lucky enough to win a meet+greet pass for a G3 show last summer, and one of the cool people I talked to was Jeff Campitelli. if you listen carefully to the very beginning of Searching, you know the drum into, you hear him playing a simple riding beat on the hi hat and then it cuts out, and comes in again a few bars later. He said it's cause he leaned over to adjust an EQ setting on his mixer when recording it. even though they did many more takes of the drum and bass parts for that song, the first take was the one they all liked best, so that's what we got, the one with Jeff adjusting his recording levels! Useless-fact-of-the-day, but I thought it was really cool!

We've been hearing about the connection of heavy music and violence for a long time... and yesterday Blabbermouth reported about this article with +70 musicians, including Tommy Shawn (Styx), Sandy West (The Runaways), Matt Bissonette, Steve Vai, Eddie Ojeda (Twisted Sister), Steve Vai, Tom S. Eglund (Evergrey), Albert Bouchard (Blue Oyster Cult), Vinny Appice, Carmine Appice, Joe Lynn Turner, Zak Stevens (Savatage), Paul Di'Anno (ex-Iron Maiden) and yeah... Delfino- HAPPY 18th! And 1400th! :-) Have a pint on me (doubt it'll be ONE though- have a good evening tonight!)
Steven- Thanks, well now the week-end is here it's nice just to relax. Matt has to work Saturday mornings at the moment, hopefully that'll only have to be until he finishes his postgraduate course he's doing 'til September. Then I can start thinking about applying for mine! It's all about the quids though, moving home sure does put a big dent into the finances! Take care and hope your day pans out well!
SteveeT- no I'm not a Katie Melua fan. Like I said I'm not so keen on that Norah Jones / Katie Melua / Jamie Cullum stuff. I quite like Trad Jazz though, big band stuff, especially when you see it live. We sometimes go to a local Jazz club, and there's something real cool and laid back about it! Getting back to KM though- if you didn't think she was lovely looking like you do, would you still like her music as much? Seriously though, each to their own and all that, I really don't mean to offend! LOL!!! :-)

Ibanez89, (belated) hapy birthday wishes to you too! :-)
everyone, I just uploaded a very rough cut of a track I've been working on. It's kind of funny, the first minute sounds like a talk show theme, but it improves! haha. I recorded it all using the voiced line-out on my amp, and just used my guitar, amp and wah pedal for the tones, so all gain comes courtesy of JJ tubes.
The line out is mono, so the guitars are all mono at the moment, and I have no bass compression so the bass is uneven, to say the least, but lead and bass guitars will get re-recorded eventually. Check it out if you got time, the track's called Winter Pallace:
