I decided to bite the bullet and order new pickup and locking tuners for my SA1260! I can't wait though, it's going to be the dogs' when they're all installed.

Feedback/opinions on Fast Track 1 and Tone Zone would be appreciated! On the downside, my bass-neck is bending the wrong way, and I don't have the right size truss-rod tool. I don't think it's enjoying the massive change of climate it's just undergone! Oh well, it's fixable!

LucySorets, yeah I'm really looking forward to Real Illusions. I've not been listening to Vai much at all in the last year or so....I've spent so much time, over the years, listening to his records, I know them inside-out. The same can be said for Joe, but I still keep listening to Joe's records cause I'll never get bored of them. But yeah, a fresh new album from Dr Vai is a very good thing to look forward to! Are you going to go to The Aching Hunger Pt II in holland this year? if so, let me know, cause I'm going!

Amen on Searching! It's an amazing track, so powerful. I can't decide which is my favourite ITLIS? track though, cause I love Searching, Lifestyle and If I Could Fly so much!!

DCK, who is going to organise/do the artwork this time?
Suzie, what's your computer like? is it geriatric and laughably slow, or is it newish and okay in the speed/power department? If the latter then I'm buying you a CD writer! haha
can anybody offer their tips/advice on writing new material? I find writing incredibly hard. I generally find I can play something but not write something decent. I wish it were the other way around, cause then at least I could think of the idea then learn how to play it :-( I'd love to be able to submit something for consideration for the t2j CD sequel, but I'll be eating my socks with a flock of flying pigs under the next blue moon if that happens!! hehe

IbenezMike- I love that DVD- I love the G3 version of "Rockin' In The Free World!"

Wouldn't it be interesting if Neil Young could play with Joe?

I have to admit I've just been watching "Wife Swap" and am pleased to say that one of the relatives was playing "Always With Me, Always With You" on his guitar at a family get together!!!

Estrela: Thanks a lot! glad to have you around too ! and what an amazing to have Joe write you a message! Indeed, Why is a great song just like everything else Joe writes. I love t2j!

Namm Man: I hope you're ok. Lets forget the BS for once again. My apologies.

Cuthbert: A metallica pick? I would like to use James Hetfield's credit card as my pick. And no disrespect was intended towards the Amish dude. I have respect for people who live in sensible Alternative Communities.

962: Yes, It definitely was an amazing site to see the asteroid. I thought it rocked because it caught my eye all of a sudden at around 3:00 am. while I was typing an email and sitting right to a window. I saw it in Northfield, MN....are asteroid sightings a common thing? I'd hope so.

Michelle: hahahahahahahahaha! mission accomplished hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Steven Wilde: Thanks man! I hope all is alrite with you. I got an A- in my class BTW! Thanks for the support!

Alexandre: Happy belated Birthday bud! Always looking for new music from you!

hi i'm new. just got this thing up and im new to guitar. ive had my guitar for 3-4 years and i took lessons for about a month. i had to stop the lessons because of my hectic life with no spare time. recently i heard ur amazing music and it inspired me to play guitar again. im currently looking for lessons. too bad there arent any JS lefty guitars cause im a lefty. just like hendrix. i read that joe started playing when he was 14 when hendrix died so i fugre i should start to since im 1 yr older then when he started. im so glad u have this website to help ur fans communicate with you. ur awesome. i was just wondering on any pointers on plaing guitar cause iknow relativly nothing about it except sum brands like fender and gibson. what kinds do prefer? and my last question is are you going to be doing any touring in the minnesota area soon? my favorite of ur songs is slick and satch boogie.

No sweat jazz man, I also got carried away. I am doing fine, mostly lurking the past few days. I figured I had said enough for a while. Thanks for the apology that’s very mature of you. Please except mine as well.

I'm still learning "Rising Force" by Yngwie..although admittedly I did take a break to learn some CKY and Deftones.

I'm working on the solo and its very hard lol...especially the first part.

962: The ToneZone is a higher output Airzone. What this means is it has less dynamics, distorts slightly more, and has none of the reduced magnetic string pull characteristics of the Air pickups. Dimarzio has a PG clip using it on their tone demo page. I've heard some people say they are kind of harsh in the mids, but I have no idea. As far as the fast track is concerned....it's more like a small humbucker than a noisless single coil. Because the coils are in a traditional sideby side humbucker config, it should react similar to a humbucker, also if I remember correctly, the output is inthe 200-300mv range (medium output humbucker range) as opposed to the virtual vintage humbuckers, which are in the 80-150 range that a standard single coil would be in.

As far as writing new tunes....why don't you try combining 2 or 3 seamingly disparate riffs or progressions. Figure out how to make them work better (by changing the key of some of them, or using pitch axis to arrange them). Lata!

Delfino: Send us a tune man!! You are as welcome as anyone to contribute to the T2J CD II

962, regarding writing new material...when I sit down to play, practice, write new material...I usually ease into it, and listen carefully to what my soul is trying to let out...this way, what I play is true to my feelings...whatever they may be at the time. Sometimes, I just have to walk away to clear my head, if it's an off day. Hope that's some help!

Peace, Love & Happiness

OCPS - Is any genre welcome? My tune is of a funk/fusion/jazz type vibe. Is that cool, or are you just looking for rock/blues kind of stuff?

Hey all, new to the board. Don't get a lot of time to post in this kind of place, which is why I haven't joined up sooner. Always thought Mr. Satch was an awesome guitarist, but after seeing the "Evening With.." in October here in Raliegh, NC, I was so blown away! Joes melodies combined with the technique and raw emotion just leaves me at a near loss for words. Saw you on the G3 tour in Winston Salem, NC too...but I didn't get to see the whole set because I was in pain after standing up scrunched up next to all of those peaple; trying to peer over heads for 3 hrs. Being short sucks lol! When are you guys gonna play an auditorium here in NC? hahaha Also...it has to be said, that you have an amazing band! I know the focus is mainly on you, but I can tell that you're a humble guy. Most "stars" think of themselves as such, unfortunately. I think that Jeff is an AMAZING drummer. The whole band is just great! Anyway, take it easy...been playing for 17 years..maybe I'll be half as good as you are in another 17 hahaha. Wish me luck!
