Catching up on some unread posts since November.....only 7,000 to go : Þ

One in particular stood out. Clarky wrote: " read when I can, as much as I can.. books, science journals, etc.. watch documentaries.. I visit museums.. and occasionally visit a site [castle, battlefield etc].. it's not just history though.. I'm actually into anything and everything - history, sub-atomic physics, cosmology, palaeontology, technology and engineering, music [I think.. lol]etc etc.. I go through these phases of stuff that interests me enough to study it.. "

That's me, to a tee. I'd read a quote on Mike Portnoy's website about his almost obessive/compulsive drive to learn everything there is to know about a subject that interests him.

Nice to know I'm not the only one.

Hi everybody....sorry long time no see, but here is a part of an article I was just browsing from a news article about Pat Martino..... On All Sides Now, Martino is joined by sultry chanteuse Cassandra Wilson, Tuck Andress (of Tuck and Patti), hippie pyrotechnician Michael Hedges and Jay Leno sideman Kevin Eubanks (who had tons of fret-cred before he began playing Doc to Jay's Johnny). The result is both more and less than a standard-issue tribute CD. All Sides Now has more musical integrity and less star excess (with the exception, perhaps, of the studio-gobbling performance by hard-rock wizard Joe Satriani).

For his part, from his duet with Satriani to a cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" with Wilson,

Steven- thanks for your message, yep I'm ok today, well it's nearly the week-end so that's good! Hope you get our letter soon! Also hope your day was good. :-)

962- Hi, yes that was very observant about LucySorets' username- only took me 2 months to figure it out LOL!

SteveeT- Katie Melua for Prime Minister? Well, I doubt she'd be much worse than Tony Blair...

Symbiotic, I owned a Jem7v and sold it last year. the new ones are not as good as the old ones, and certainly not worth 1800 dollars. I'd personally suggest that you consider the Andy Timmons model, the AT300. It's really versatile, it sounds amazing, I'm sure it plays like a dream and it's maintainence cost will be much, much lower. Also, if you decided to re-sell it, it'd be worth more.

That said, $1800 would get you a really, really good guitar if you're prepared to buy second-hand. you might find an older Jem, which would be much better than the half-assed new cr*p they're shelling out!

IbanezMike, the guage will be 9's so there's quite a few to choose from, but i'd suggest restringing it with D'Addario XL 9-42's.....I've always found them pretty consistent and nice to play on a Floyd Rose type trem.

Steven Wilde - thanks for your post and your congratulations, my birthday was cool, I could do whatever I wanted to... :-), so lets see what the 28. year of my life will bring... I hope only positive things....

962 - thanks too for your congratulations, I had a cool birthday :-)
I knew the cancellation from the Downhill in Kitzbühel because of the snow, here in Vienna the last 48 hours it had been snowing non-stop , and now there´s so much snow in the city, that you could put on your skis (or your snowboard) right doin´one step out of the house.....

Hey all of you guys,
just wanted to say that I´m happy to see this community growing every day......everytime I do a quick jump to this site I see that new fans have registered, also if not every fan is posting something (captain chaos would have his fun...hehe), I think that´s a very positive feed-back for joe, the band, the webmaster and everyone at satriani.com that they all do their jobs very well.......
And finally I would be very happy to see Joe live at one of the music festivals around here in europe in summer. I love to see him performing live, because everytime I see him in concert I´m asking myself: Who has more fun – Joe on stage or the audience listening to the musical magic of Joe?

Have a great day everyone...... tune ;-)

Signs Your Hooker Has a College Education

5> Never works when the Crimson Tide's in town.

4> Condoms? Check. Breath mints? Check. Pamphlet explaining how heterosexual intercourse is rape and the notion of sexual reproduction is a deception maintained by the patriarchy for the purpose of preventing womyn from ever achieving equity? Uh-oh.

3> This month's special: For $30, she'll do you *and* your taxes.

2> The oral part of her "around the world" is a recitation of every country's capital and major exports.

and the Number 1 Sign Your Hooker Has a College Education...

1> She was an art history major -- how *else* could she earn a living?

Rumination of the Day

You know that thing dogs do when they tilt their heads because you whimpered or baby- talked? I bet they're thinking, "Who the hell put *this* fool in charge of the leash?"

INDICATORS THAT YOUR EMPLOYER HAS CHANGED TO A CHEAPER HEALTH CARE PLAN:

10) Your annual breast exam is done at Hooters.

9) Directions to your Doctor's office include "Take a left when you enter the trailer park."

8) The tongue depressors taste faintly of Fudgesicles.

7) The only proctologist in the plan is "Gus" from Roto-Rooter.

6) The only item listed under Preventative Care Coverage is "An apple a day."

5) Your primary care physician is wearing the pants you gave to Goodwill last month.

4) "The patient is responsible for 200% of out of network charges," > is not a typographical error.

3) The only expense covered 100% is "embalming."

2) Your Prozac comes in different colors with little M's on them.

AND THE NUMBER ONE SIGN YOU'VE JOINED A VERY CHEAP HEALTH CARE PLAN:

1) You ask for Viagra, and they give you a Popsicle stick and duct tape

big bad moon 1889,

less might mean more on your DS-1 setting...you might what to try rolling off on the amount of distortion you have it set on.

If you listen to Joe's sound you...should...notice that's he's not really that distorted...you've gotta play around with your gear to coax the best sound out of it...try a bunch of different settings until you find the best ones that fit your ear!

Hope I've helped...you gotta kinda pave your own way...

...Ok...I leave the room for 5 minutes to 'round up' my cats and put them in the kitchen for the night, I walk back in my room and having left my tv on, there is a guy who is the spitting image of the bad-guy from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" cutting up a human body donors ball sack on channel 4.

For the love of Haagen Daaz WHY?!...*breaks down*...Its something I really didn't need to see.

I think one day my nads will stop hiding...but until then I will be talking like I've inhaled a lot of helium...

Clarky I love these hybrids they feel so 'fluent' to play on, but I really like my Low E being a .48 for some reason...wonder how a .66 would sound as a Low E when every other string is from a set of 9's....

Whooo band practice tomorrow, I'm gonna' be mostly playing bass, and although it isn't my main instrument I am really, REALLY looking forward to it.

Hi everybody!

STEVEE T tks a lot! LOL (now I know!! ) at work I laugh out loud and everybody look at me and laugh too! I like laughing! this is the only way.. you know what I mean... to live

................................................................................................... BIGBUNNY: could you send me that interview that you scanned? my email: b.bottura@terra.com.br I'd appreciated! feel free to send me anything about Joe!

..............................................................................................

STEVEN WILDE: You and Stevee T are great ! I noticed how you both teach and encourage others guys that ask for help! congratulations!!

................................................................................................. KD6aaj / Bahduh : thanks to the "wellcome", yeah BAHDUH I 'm lucky! and I live in a very nice country, there are great people here, and samba is very good... but I prefer... ROCK AND BLUES!! I think that India is a very different place to live, isn't? I used to read things about meditation, OSHO's history, incense and everything , and I wonder if all those things are really serious in India or it is only a big commerce here in ocident. what do you can say about this to me?people in India practice meditation? ...................................................................................

962 Hi !!! DVD Satch tapes is great! and I love every thing that comes from Joe, it doesn't matter clips or live show, I'm Joe's fan , I love his work! But I have to agree that DVDs like G3 is more pleasant to watch, musicians in a show are much more spontaneous ...specially Joe. That songs that you mentioned are awesome! this album "is there love in space" is really special! but there is something magical in "just look up" .... and the vocals of "lifestyle" are great! and Bamboo? wow! wonderful! .............................................................................................

jazzzzzzy! Hello! I like you very much! I was reading that you had a terrible night, it was 3:00pm when you wrote "i'm tired", sorry but I laugh a lot!!! you are funny!!! and you mentioned that you was listening to "WHY", I love this song! Why didn't you sleep last night? tell me about you, are you a teacher? ............................................................................... good night to everybody! it's 11:00pm here..... kisses! LOL !!!

I have a ticket for March 18 but would like to sell it or swap it for a ticket for March 19 as my birthday is on March 18 and my wife is very unimpressed that I have bought a ticket for March 18, I bought the ticket before the March 19 show was even announced.
