Delfino- hope you are feeling better soon :-)

Zenfish- Good evening to you too! Still haven't got that VH Women and Children First CD though..... I'm a bit broke at present, and my computer has no sound so I can't download it from the net!

Michelle- We still haven't had any snow yet this year in South East London- it's not looking likely either! You never know though, sometimes it has even snowed as late as April! (Sounds like a Prince song LOL)

962- Do you know if overseas mail gets opened when being shopped into the US?

Steven- Thanks for the e-mail! That was so kind of you! Good news about the new guitars, you sound really excited about your new additions to the collection! Keep rocking! Oh, and when the letter eventually arrives I hope the tape and dollars etc are still in there, if the mail DOES get opened from overseas? I hope so, as I'd love to get a copy of your Rotating Sky CD. :-)

Estrela- how was your day, good I hope!

PFields- My old computer won't allow me to go in either of the chatrooms- it's like an old man with a walking stick, the speed it moves along!

Bahduh- hope all's well with you and your family!

Mowlie2000- hope you're taking good care of that new rig!

Take care everyone and have a good evening :-)

andrew_the_edge, there's no news yet of a Joe tour here.....not that I know of anyway. I'm not sure if he'll be over any time soon, cause he just did a euro-G3 tur last sumer. then it was G3 south america, then back to the US for evening-with-JS tour. This summer it'll be G3 in the far east, and he's got a new album on the go, which me might see at the end of the year, so I wouldn't be surprised if '06 will be when we next see joe on tour, with the new record. Vai's record is out next month, so maybe he'll come this way after G3 Asia. Pre-G3 he's touring the US, then coming over to Holland in june.
Clarky, re. a new bridge pickup for lust. what are the other pickups in there, and what's it's main use? is it down-tuned? Maybe a Breed would go nicely with C or D tuning? then again, Steve's Special is meant to be interesting
I'm just listening to Mourning Widows: Furnished Souls For Rent. this record is so FAT. I still don't get why I'm the only one on this board listening to Mourning Widows' stuff?!?
Delfino, dude, maybe you got something you should get checked out? Hope it's not an organ malfunction or anything. maybe some dodgy Chinese?
Steven Wilde, yeah please do get some pictures of the new units, especially the Samick, i'm really intrigued about that one! Any idea what Frank Gambale uses these days? last thing I heard, he was still actually using his sig model, even though Ibanez have dropped him from their lineup......intrigueing! hehe. yeah I'm not too bad dude, hows you? That's a nice thought on giving Randell the Charvelle, do you reckon he'd use it?
Suzie, usually it doesn't, it depends what it is, but if you put a customs declaration-of-contents label on it you should be okay. Some things might get XRAYed but I'm sure your stuff will be ok! I sent a CD, letter and 3 dollars to TASTEY and nothing disappeared!

Joe - I have a 17 yr. old son, Jamie, who truly admires your music. He also plays electric guitar for his band, Daybreak. Jamie is graduating from high school this spring. He plans to attend college and continue playing his music in the Louisville area. I am putting together a book filled with quotes, advice, poems from our family and friends. It would be great if you could share with Jamie any thoughts/advice you have for a young man regarding music, life, career,???? Anything! Your words would make this gift very special.

Thanks Pancha

"Diabetes will cut 17-27 years off your life"

My Dad has diabetes...now this has made me worry so much.

962 I hope not, but I'm going to take your advice. I think it was some meatballs I ate cold yesterday...it said on the packet "Delicious Hot or Cold" and I remember thinking after eating them "Aww, I can feel this giving me gas already"...who knows.

Steven Wilde On the soundclick thing if you right-click on where it says MP3 to the right of "Platypus" and click "Save target as" you can save it to your computer :-)...I made it with Reason 2.5 and the Electromechical Refill, which all keyboards and such, its really excellent stuff.

Clarky If I had the money I certainly would...or I would probably spend it on some amps/ guitars/ effects and a car....who knows lol.

962, hi, about Jan Cyrka, yes...he is quite unknown as many others great musicians around here :-), but he is fantastic. He produces the instructive CD accompanying the UK magazine Guitarist, he had made jam tracks with Joe, Vai, Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert etc, he has three albums published in which he emphasizes melody and arrangements over mere virtuosity, and he combines soft ambience rock songs with hard rock and even songs with a female vocalist. He is like a melodic Vai. Currently he works for an amps label.
To get an idea of how he sounds:
http://www.infoclub.com.np/entertain/music/hollywood/htmfile/lesserknown/cyrka.mp2
As you have already been able to guess, he is my third favorite guitarist alive after Joe and Steve :)
Talking about Steve Vai, I got an autographed Real Illusions too!!!!! Have you heard the clips? I'm obsessed with "Glorius" it's an authentic organic guitar!!

Steven Wilde, hi, how are you? I'm fine, thank you for your kind words as usual, I love your karma hehe. I woke up this morning with some Monday melancholy but I've been cheering up in my way to work (fortunately :-) Love to hear it's sunny there and you have bought two new guitars! that's great! I've been listening to "Melodic Shapes" and "Rotating Sky", they are really cool! And I have a question... Is About the Numbers your band or is a solo project apart from your solo stuff? you have a lot of good tunes -this is a good thing-, well, see you soon and have a wonderful day too!

bahduh, hi, I see you are very busy these days, take it easy :-) I'll write you soon too, I wish you all the best for you and your's

TSarkis, about the connection of heavy music and violence, not much to add to what has already said, just to point out that aggressive music is a "safety valve" to frustration and feelings of a lot of people and in a way "has prevented more violence than it has caused" in the words of Agnete M. Kirkevaagwhen. When the individual has the predisposition not only heavy metal but films, videogames, sports, books etc lots of things can generate violence, the individuals are responsible for their actions.

I've seen some people (estrela, 962...) talk about the song "Searching" and I can't help to give my vision of this beautiful theme that is my current favorite of Joe's last album, it's like a musical dream journey for the soul, I love the raw sound of the guitar, the simplicity of the backing instruments that let Joe's guitar feeling shines strongly I think it reflects an unique moment of inspiration. It makes me think that I could be hearing Joe jamming and improvising for hours and hours....and I will never grow tired of it! Simply amazing.

962: So...since you have a Legacy and no Traynor (haha I'm a dope) have you tried a JSX yet to give some insight into the differences between the two amps? It seems to me (from hearing a Legacy in person) that it is a very smooth, liquid lead sound without getting too distorted, but still having tons of sustain. The JSX on the other hand seems to have a marshall vibe on the crunch channel and a Mesa vibe on the Ultra channel. Actually, I'm more curious about the clean channel on the Legacy. When ever I hear Vai playing it, it almost sounds like a guitar run direct into the mixing board. Is it warmer than that in person? Thanks

just for Artanis

A Football fan favorite!

Football analysis by a blonde... A guy took his blonde girl friend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's bench... After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience. "Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents."Dumbfounded, her date asked, "What do you mean?" "Well, I saw them flip a coin and one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: 'Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!" Hel-LLLO! It's only 25 cents!

Delfino: hi! sorry for yr dad, i need to tell you that my ex-husband, have diabets since he was 16 and he is 43 now, and all he have done throughout these years is taking care of what he eats, and check the level of sugar in blood using appropriate device, this is extremely important, he needs insulin every day and maybe twice a day depending on the level of sugar. Everything is gonna be alright, just help your father to take care of his food, and check blood everyday.
