I'm curious to know how people chose their nicknames on T2J.

Slanshroom: Siempre Amor is one fuckin fantastic track. Do you play flamenco music at all? Living in Spain, I'm sure you get to see some pretty crazy flamenco guitarists.

Slanshroom for G3.

MICHELLE: did you read my msg from 10:05 a.m ? I mentioned that normal level of sugar is 80 to 120 . You can get on drugstores a device that you take a drop of blood of one finger and measure the level, if its is more than 200 he needs insulin. Is he controling this? This is important. I wish him get better. Pls give me an answer, I'm worried....

Michelle, so sorry to hear about your step-dad. He will need to be very careful from now on to take his blood sugars faithfully and keep a log of what time and what they were so he can show it to his Dr. at each appt. Estrela was right in how he needs to watch his diet, and in normal blood sugar ranges, 80 to 120. If they prescribe medication he needs to be faithful with that. The local hospital should have a class or classes that both he and your mom can attend to teach about diet, blood sugars and what to watch out for. It's important that he also get some exercise, if he's able to, to keep the circulation going, especially in his legs and feet. He will have to be very careful about foot care, tell him to have a professional take care of his toenails as diabetics do not heal well from injuries. Even a small cut when trimming toenails or a sore on his foot can be really serious. And he needs to be faithful about having his eyes checked regularily.

Diabetes is a serious disease and shouldn't ever be treated lightly, but if he is dedicated to protecting his health to the best of his abilities, he will be okay. And there are many recipe books out there for lots of good and safe diabetic foods, so that he doesn't have to feel deprived with his diet. Oh, and lots of sugar free candies out there, can hardly tell the difference between them and "regular" candies!! My mom is also diabetic and controls her blood sugars with diet and exercise, so she has been lucky in that regard.

Hugs and prayers to you and your family, it's really good that they caught this when they did!

962 I think it might have been the EMG pick-ups I missed but none the less I still use the SA for church, my band, and Joe songs. I do gotta say it's a diverse little thing.

I'm sorry if this was brought up already, but did anybody know that Steve Vai played for the Halo2 soundtrack, hence the game. If ya didn't know and wanna know about it I'll see if I can get the song to ya.

Hey all, how's it going tonight? I've just recently started trying to learn some of Joe's unsual licks (after 17 years, I've finally been able to get equipment that makes me feel that I can explore new territory). Anyway, I used to be able to play until my strings started to sound dead. About 2 months ago I taught myself Joe's "open string harmonics/pulling out on the tremolo" thing. I'm nowhere near as good as it as I'd like to be....but anyway....I broke my second string in 2 months. Guess I might be doing something right! hahahaha Now I just need to practice for another 10 years, and maybe I'll be good enough for the big time lol. I don't use a Whammy pedal, so it'll never sound as good as Satch, even if I were half as good at it as he is. Still working on the hammer-on arpeggio from "Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing". It's coming along, but I was wondering if there are any types of effects to help sqeeze those notes out without a bunch of noise and feedback. I guess I'm wierd, because I don't really try to learn his songs front to back..just try to learn things that I'm later able to attempt to incorperate into my own playing. I can pretty much play Crystal Planet, but that's about it. Again, I go back to the show in oct. in Raliegh, NC . Watching him that night probably taught me more than the 2 years of lessons that I took! I can't help but bow down to the man.

Michelle, is your stepdad getting treatment? I know how it feels to be helpless when a loved one is ailing. There aren't too many worse feelings.

I wonder if we all sweet talk Mikey-san, if he would put us up for some of the Japanese G3 dates ;-)

Clarky & Slan, very sweet tune!! :-)

Miguel, my son likes Stu, Flea, Geezer Butler, Geddy Lee, & Rob Trujillo to name a few. He knows who Sheehan is, and likes to watch the Live in London DVD, but he doesn't really listen to him at any other time. He made a cd titled "Bass Songs". He has a nice selection of tunes on it including Stu's bass solo from LISF.

Alexandre, I meant every word of it honey. You're the best :) I saw my mom's dog Emmie today - a dog like Hadji, but Emmie is a fatty. To many goodies. lol! She was so happy to see us. Such sweet dogs they are. Give Hadji much love for me. A big hello to Filipa too!

estrela & Tracie, thank you so much for all the info. I was pretty shocked when I read the numbers, so I didn't write back right away. Man, he IS in bad shape. They have him doped up on a muscle relaxer because he was having back spasms. They also have him on an anti-inflamitory for pain he is having in his hand and ankle. The pain in his knee went away, so hopefully the rest will follow. They aslo have him on Amaryl for the diabetes. I don't think they did enough testing on him to prescribe that stuff. I'm thinking it was just a band-aid to try to improve his condition until Wednesday when they see him again. They have to get this under control before they can persue other things, but I really think they should have checked his heart & kidneys. He looks so bad, and he says he's never been this sick. We're all pretty scared. I have to get after my mom to get to one of those classes. They both need to learn more about the disease. Thanks again for all your help. The one true thing we can always count on is support from out T2J friends.

Ronnie, thanks for your thoughts too. My stepdad isn't a geeser yet, he's only 58. My mum's an old bird, but she snagged a catch 13 years her junior. lol! He's like a rock. Always there when ya need him, strong as an ox, and loved us girls even when we hated him. In the past few years I've realized that I was chasing some fantasy of how great my real dad is and denying my stepdad any "real" dad status, when he's the guy who has been taking care of us for the past 30 years. My real dad is an ass, though I love him very much, he breaks my heart. My stepdad deserves all the kudos of raising 4 girls. My dad took on his new family and never looked back. I'm glad I've finally let the wall down and have let my stepdad know how much I love and appreciate him. If, God Forbid, anything would happen, I would have no regrets or unsaid words to him. I can't say the same about my real dad.

Geez, this is turning into a page from "Dear Diary". Sorry peeps.

Jazzy, Stevee, Marty, Alex, thanks.

Powerslave, read my message to estrela & Tracie.

Thanks everybody. God Bless you all.

js22, my real dad has skin cancer too. He was diagnosed about 20 years ago. He spent his younger years slathered in iodine & baby oil in the sun every summer. He goes to the doctor every 6 months and gets a thorough check-up and gets any spots frozen off. Your dad has to be careful now. Lots of sunscreen, hats, and clothing to cover up. Best of luck to him.

Steven, thanks honey. Prayers are much appreciated :)

Jazz, he is, and I will :)
