OKAY Here's one for Ya. As some of you know, I
am making a crazed attempt at running a Recording studio.
One thing I have discovered is this. Commercial CD's are recorded in the format of RED BOOK. Now, when mastering to a CD Rom the best a can find (In My software anyway's) is MP3 Pro. Is That going to be good enough for a Glass master to be made? If not, How do I get the files converted to RED BOOK Without having to buy an Alesis Master Link? Mr. Eric Caudieux, I could use your help here. Thanks Don.

Crystal PLanet16:
The Saber "S" series by Ibanez is one of the best guitars ever made by Ibanez.
I own a 540 Saber (Saber is what they used to call them) In fact mine is a prototype that was made when they first were developing this style. Many had Three single coils some with Two then they did a HB in the bridge with two other single coils one in the middle one at the neck. Mine was among the first to have the HB at the bridge a single in the middle and another HB at the neck. The first Wizard Neck was better than the Wiz II model but it rocks as well, nice and thin with tall Frets.
I bought two more S series about ten years ago 470s each. They have some minor neck issues now but I could tweakem up in moments if needed. All guitars need adjustments eventually so don't let that stop you from buying one.
I am sure many here will have opinions. If you buy one get the middle model, the EX seems to have a different species of Pick-ups I am not familiar with.

Big Bad Moon:
I never took any lessons either. If you want to become well versed at site reading, singing, tempo changes, Key signatures, Circle of Fifths/Fourths, modes, four part harmonies etc. or are thinking of going to music school or something like that then definitely take lessons and study properly.
If you can understand the chord charts, tabulature, scales, keys then just study on your own with a good book that takes you through all the steps at your own speed.
On the other hand you could learn completely by ear like I did and become more unique and original than most. If you love to play music then that is all you need.
Set a goal and stick to it, when you reach the goal, set a new one.
Good luck

How about taking your stuff to be mastered at a studio with the equip you need? If you can master it on your software and then keep your mastering settings, perhaps there is some middle ware that can convert the mastered settings to the appropraite application that will also convert the MP3, CDA, Wav, or even the proprietary file within the software application you currently use to the new application. This would be extremely time saving and get you a minimal cost in the studio.
But hey I don't know your budget either. Sometimes we need another perspective to snap into reality. Light Bulb!

Hi all, the user preferences have been reset again, so I have to remember and type out all the specific URLs I usually click from the drop-down menu ... all the cookies have been eaten and the tool bars are all in the wrong order ... not again ...
Just read the 2.5 days of posts, lots to say but it's all really pointless so how about just "hello" to you all. Have as good a day as you can make it, for yourself and for everyone else too.

Crystal Planet16, hmm, I'm still not into the ZR trem. I'm not into any of Ibanez's new locking trems though, they're all a bit gash. Have you thought about changing it's pickups? You could put some really versatile combinations in there.
Big Bad Moon 89, the PAF Joe was designed off the PAF Pro to better compliment the Fred in the bridge position, so going with the pair like Joe uses would probably sound a little better. That said, you could go with polar opposites, like a PAF Joe and an XN2 or Tone Zone or something.
Boongo, they're custom made JS7's for Joe. Hopefully they'll get produced and sold in the next few years.

Bahduh: the message from Joe in the email. Stevee T posted the message recently in case you didn't get the email.
The surprise I was referring to was about Australia playing the super 1 day series, being sarcastic of course!
Later, BEN

(Trans: There are as many kinds of paellas and rice dishes as there are districts in the region and yes, there are different ways of making them. Talking about the genuine Valencian paella, this consist besides rice, of wide-pod green beans, giant beans, chicken, rabbit and white-shelled mountain snails (xonetas). But there are also seafood and shellfish paellas, which in recent years have become increasingly popular, with squids, cuttlefish, prawns, crayfish and particularly the high-priced but mouth-watering lobster paella. The one your grandmother make is the
mixed paella, that combines chicken with seafood and shellfish.)
(Trans: About "you are welcome", the most used form in Spain is "de nada", also you can say "no hay de qué", but this expression is very formal and courteous and less used.
The expression "por nada" that is used in some South American countries, comes from "no hay por qué", other way of saying basically the same.)

HOW TO MAKE A LOT OF MONEY GAMBLING
An elderly woman walked into the Bank of Canada one morning with a purse full of money. She wanted to open a savings account and insisted on talking to the president of the Bank because, she said, she had a lot of money.
After many lengthy discussions (after all, the client is always right) an employee took the elderly woman to the president's office.
The president of the Bank asked her how much she wanted to deposit. She placed her purse on his desk and replied, "$165,000". The president was curious and asked her how she had been able to save so much money. The elderly woman replied that she made bets.
The president was surprised and asked, "What kind of bets?"
The elderly woman replied, "Well, I be t you $25,000 that your testicles are square."
The president started to laugh and told the woman that it was impossible to win a bet like that.
The woman never batted an eye. She just looked at the president and said, "Would you like to take my bet?"
"Certainly", replied the president. "I bet you $25,000 that my testicles are not square."
"Done", the elderly woman answered. "But given the amount of money involved, if you don't mind I would like to come back at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning with my lawyer as a witness."
"No problem", said the president of the Bank confidently.
That night, the president became very nervous about the bet and spent a long time in front of the mirror examining his testicles, turning them this way and that, checking them over again and again until he was positive that no one could
consider his testicles as square and reassuring himself that there was no way he could lose the bet.
The next morning at exactly
10 o'clock the elderly woman arrived at the president's office with her lawyer and acknowledged the $25,000 bet made the day before that the president's testicles were square.
The president confirmed that the bet was the same as the one made the day before. Then the elderly woman asked him to drop his pants etc.
so that she and her lawyer could see clearly.
The president was happy to oblige.
The elderly woman came closer so she could see better and asked the president if she could touch them. "Of course", said the president. "Given the amount of money involved, you should be 100% sure."
The elderly woman did so with a little smile. Suddenly the president noticed that the lawyer was banging his head against the wall. He asked the elderly woman why he was doing that and she replied, "Oh, it's probably because I bet him $100,000 that around 10 o'clock in the morning I would be holding the balls of the President of the Bank of Canada!"
