Sony to Release PlayStation Portable

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Sony Corp said Thursday it will release the PlayStation Portable in North America on March 24 and have 1 million units ready for sale in the first week.

The PSP machine, a challenger to Nintendo (news - web sites) Co.'s long-standing grip on the handheld video gaming market, will be sold as a "value pack" for $250 in the United States and for $300 Canadian dollars. It will include numerous accessories and — for the first million sold — a copy of the "Spider-Man 2" movie on the new Universal Media Disc format that Sony designed for the PSP.

Sony said it has already shipped 800,000 PSPs in Japan, where it went on sale on Dec. 12 for about $190.

Hot Times at the Old Firehouse...

TAMPA, Fla. (Reuters) - Fire officials were as red as their fire trucks Thursday after announcing that five firemen were disciplined for inviting strippers to the fire station for a nude and topless photo session. The women, identified only as Jamie and Heather, posed with a fire truck at a city fire station in Tampa in October. They were naked in some photos and wore only high heels, firefighters' pants and suspenders in others. Dozens of the pictures were posted on the Internet.

The firefighters were charged with neglect of duty, moral turpitude and insubordination.

One of the men, a captain, was fired. The other four were suspended for two weeks to a month and will lose up to $5,000 in pay. One of them had a part-time job at a strip club where the women danced.

Fire Chief Dennis Jones said he was embarrassed by the firemen's actions but that "they didn't miss any calls."

Woman Accused of Giving Lethal Sherry Enema

HOUSTON (Reuters) - A Texas woman has been indicted for criminally negligent homicide for causing her husband's death by giving him a sherry enema, a police detective said on Wednesday.

Tammy Jean Warner, 42, gave Michael Warner two large bottles of sherry on May 21, which raised his blood alcohol level to 0.47 percent, or nearly six times the level considered legally drunk in Texas, police detective Robert Turner in Lake Jackson, Texas, told the Houston Chronicle.

"We're not talking about little bottles here," Turner said. "These were at least 1.5-liter bottles."

Warner, 58, was said to have an alcohol problem and received the wine enema because a throat ailment left him unable to drink the sherry, Turner told the newspaper.

"I heard of this kind of thing in mortuary school in 1970, but this is the first time I've ever heard of someone actually doing it," said Turner, who led the lengthy investigation in the case.

The woman admitted administering the enema, but denied causing her husband's death, the Chronicle said.

A dispatcher for the Lake Jackson police said only Turner could discuss the case, but he did not return phone calls from Reuters.

Along with negligent homicide, Mrs. Warner was indicted for burning her husband's will a month before his death. Both charges carry maximum penalties of two years in prison.

Mrs. Warner surrendered to police on Monday and was released on $30,000 bail, the newspaper said.

VFR, Paul, it's so funny you mention that you've come to appreciate that "view" you took for granted as a kid. It was like you pulled that right out of my head! lol! I'm constantly telling my kids to look at the beautiful clouds or sunset, but my favorite thing is when the suns rays shine down from the sky out in the distance. I think to myself that God must be shining his rays down on someone for something special. A birth, a death, an awakening, a miracle. I also think it's there just for me. A show in the sky for my personal rejuvination and life revelations. I always make sure to say out loud "Thank ya Jesus!" because I think it's truely a gift. It's also there so I can get my children to look to the sky so when I'm long gone and they see something amazing like that, they'll think of me. I want them to look at the sky when they think of me and not the ground. Chin up and all that. I always point out "the view" to my kids, and I bet that even though they might not appreciate it now, they'll be pointing it out to their kids some day :)

Whew, let me step out of the deepness of that one and do the 7th inning stretch. lol!

Stevee, maybe the JS2PRM should simply be called the JSPHAT! lol! Easier to remember, don'tcha tink :)

Zinc, when I talk about my husband should I refer to him as my pelvic affiliate? lmao!!!

Suzie, slow computers are such a drag.

Jazzy, that was the first time?? I live near Lancaster, which is home to many Amish and Menonnites (sp?). When I got to visit my m-i-l and we go shopping, the buggies are everywhere. Gotta be very careful passing them on the road so you don't spook the horses. I'm curious to know what your horns meant to them. lol! As for Kid Rock, I used to play it all the time when I had my Honda hooptie equipped with a fine cassette deck :) I don't have any KR cd's for my new car, so now I only hear it if it comes on the radio.

Steven, you were at the beach - we got more snow. lol! The sun is out and it looks like a beautiful day. Hope the results from the doc are good :)

Tracie, I'm really looking forward to the big game. One, is because I love football, and two, is because hopefully when it's over I won't have to hear that friggin' Eagles Victory Song for another year!!! Fly Eagles Fly, On the road to vic-to- ry. GAH! lol! Chese101 it is with post 101 :)

Hi evbro!! Nice rack ;-)

HA! A sherry enema. Can you imagine how that went down. "Hey honey, I have a sore throat. Could you put these two bottles of sherry up my ass?" ROTFLMAO!!!

thanx a bunch girl! ;) keep up your riding as well - i do my ride every 2nd day, never miss one ride! i bought my exercise bike last October - i'm sure one day my little computer thingy will go bust & i'll have to fix it. can you get yours fixed?

i don't think Felix would get too lonely - unlike dogs, cats like their own company :) sometimes they act like they don't even notice you're there - except when they are hungry.

Zinc/ Steven W Thanks guys :-)

962 No problem man.

Civgeek A degree in Civils ? Too much for me man, I got a Higher National Certificate but the prospect of the maths for the structures elements just put me off. I was working at the time I got the HNC and a part time degree after 4 years of study didn't appeal. To be honest with you, I'm just a good project manager / people person........... I've got a lot of on the ground experience and I paid my dues doing a lot of hours in the past...................... kinda got a break 5 years ago and grabbed it with both hands. It's cool, I'm only earning the same money but i'm not on 350 hour months anymore. Transportation is a good field to go for, I've thought about it myself, as landfill is a declining industry, but I knock out about 200 hour months at the moment, the money is an incentive to stay and my daughter's still young so I like to spend my weekends with her before she starts going and doing her own thing. Must be tough changing fields ? Did you go for the pay cut / on the job training option or did you study while you were still a chippie ?

Michelle Nice thoughts............... look at the sky don't look at the gound.................. at the moment I have enough of a problem trying to get the little one to look where she is going - lol She's forever bouncing off door frames !
