LucySorets, yeah I personally love Nuno's "Mourning Widows" stuff. both album are fantastic, the first one being the slightly more ballsy of the two, the second being perhaps more refined.

Extreme 4 (Waiting For The Punchline) was quite a lot more modern sounding than it's predecessors, and is probably the closest to the Mourning Widows sound, but regardless, is still very different. I reckon if Nuno had have sold his Mourning Widows material to some global labels, which he could easily have done, especially in 2000, he would have been approached by MTV/Kerrang, and could have been responsible for bringing proper guitar playing and proper musicianship to the mainstream.

But, it seems he's a bit of a pesimist at times, and is certainly a modest man, and that's why he only released it in Japan. if you do get his MW stuff it'll be a little costly cause you gotta get it on import, but it's well worth it! I think with Population 1, he's finally realising that there's a much bigger potential audience for his style than he thought! I'm finding the developements in his career really interesting and exciting, I hope he gets some more exposure! I would recommend his MW stuff to everyone. I've played various MW tracks to a lot of different people in to completely different musical styles, and nobody yet has said they don't like it, and almost all have said "wow, that's really good".

civgeek, The Aching Hunger was the project title that Vai gave to his performance with the Amsterdam Moetropolitan Orchestra. He was invited to write some music for them to play with him, so he did. It equates to a 100-piece orchestra.....it was actually a little less than a hundred, with some people doubling up on instruments, but it was amazing. He wrote a couple of hours worth of new music and rearrangements of familiar material, and performed it on 3 nights last summer, in Amsterdam. He had written a lot more than they could handle in one show, so is doing a Part II this summer, same people, same place. It's going to be awesome, it's a whole other side to Vai and to the world of guitar playing, and you see a totally different Vai to the guy you normally see when he's doing his 'solo' shows.
DCK, shit man, I'm really sorry to read of your loss. like Zinc said, there's a whole load of people here who you can talk to when you need to. take it easy amigo, my condolences to you and your family.
TASTEY, 5.9 liter? Sh*t! I would love to lift the engine out of your truck and stick it into some realy lightweight chassis, make me a ground-to-ground rocket to ride in!
Suzie, hi! I'm not so bad thanks....annoyed about my Laptop getting sick again, but looking forward to getting it's replacement...I just hope I can salvage my projects, especially my joint ones.

Did you decide on a Disney film to watch? haha. You should watch Fantasia! AAAAAHHHHHHH! hehe

Steven Wilde, hey no problem dude, I'm really excited by the prospect of seeing the new people that could contribute to the new project. I just wish Mikey D could submit something, but he doesn't have the means...

thanks for your kind comments bro, you're very generous! Take it easy, keep us posted as to your musical creations!

ESTRELA: How do you know Marlene? Yes, I actually love her but I live in Italy (and sometimes of the year in England) and she lives in Chile!! And she's 5-6 years older than me. But it actually isn't a problem, I know couples where the man is younger than the girl for 7 years like my cousin! And I'm going to see the world (like all young people do) in 2 years and I will surely start from CHILE. I like the feeling that I have with here and I love her (I saw a photo). And I love Santiago and I love the Spanish Language. And, of course:

Duh, sometimes my own stupidity astounds even me.

It was only the 16th in Sydney that was sold out. See you on the 17th Joe! Bought my tix last night over the web. It's been a long time between drinks, but well worth the wait.

Hey I didn't tell you this, but it was a pure fluke I managed to get into the store gig you did in melbourne (if you can remember that far back), I was walking around waiting for the show and saw a sign in the store, they said all the tix were sold, but if you hang around they might not throw me out. Well I had to pop out and left my bags in the shop (nice sales girl :) and when I came back they'd shut up and were asking for tickets. When I walked up and opened my mouth to ask to get my bags, they saw my tour shirt and cap (the ones I had on the plane) and thought I was a roady! they waved me straight through! What a scam artist. Admittedly I didn't tell them I wasn't a roady, but I didn't exactly lie either! :) LOL.

I know it's a long shot, but how about signing the EP you sent me? I can bring it if you say ok. Thanks anyway for the consideration. It would make an awsome centerpiece to my collection. You have my email.

I gots a coursework commentary to write for tomorrow, it has to be 1500 words, its taken me just over an hour to write around 850...its going to be a long night methinks.

On the upside, half-term starts Thursday. On friday O'm having some friends round to xbox it up all night...sadly some of the ones from my previous xbox night can't make it so theres only four of us this time, but hey, we'll survive.

I also came up with a great word today...my friend needed a word that rhymed for a poem he was writing in an english lesson...I can't remember the exact word he wanted it to rhyme with but it was something like "keen"...the first thing that came to my mind was "BumbleBean", I'm going to consult my drummer-guy about it as a band name tomorrow lol I think he may find it pant-wettingly hilarious....hopefully. lol.

Jazzzzzy Dont forget PLC...I've got a craving for some BEEEEF!!! lmao

Well, at Least He Won't Be Fathering More Fans...

LONDON (Reuters) - A Welsh rugby fan cut off his own testicles to celebrate Wales beating England at rugby, the Daily Mirror reported Tuesday.

Geoff Huish, 26, was so convinced England would win Saturday's match he told fellow drinkers at a social club, "If Wales win I'll cut my balls off," the paper said.

Friends at the club in Caerphilly, south Wales, thought he was joking.

But after the game Huish went home, severed his testicles with a knife, and walked 200 yards back to the bar with the testicles to show the shocked drinkers what he had done.

Huish was taken to hospital where he remained in serious condition, the paper said.

Wales's 11-9 victory over England at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff was their first home win over England in 12 years.

Stevee T - Cheers for that bro. I will be Gnaahhring many things now that the pain has gone. Oh and I am looking forward to your CD.

civgeek - The initial surgery was horrible as I didnt know what was happening as the dentist (not my regular as she was on maternity leave) was Polish and I couldnt understand a bloody word he was saying so I didnt actually know I was having root-canal surgery. Once the nerve was out I had a bit of tooth ache but once that cleared up it was fairly smooth sailing. If I needed it doing again at least I would know whatto expect and have no preconceptions about the procedure.

DCK - I hope it goes/went well as mine was quite eventful (see above). Oh and I have a question about the T2J CD. Can I have a guest vocalist on my track as she is about to be signed and it could be a bonus for the CD if she does well. All of the music is written by me but she will be writing the vocals. I will be, however, getting her in to the studio to record her vocals. Oh and I just saw your message re: your sister-in-law. Deepest condolences bro...

Suzie2000 - In my case it more like gleaming white wonky smile....lol

Delfino - Whats your msn screen name/email details?

SteveeT- Actually, Thiise, was born in Manhattan. But he spent all His growing up here in the LA, bay area. To be honest, i haven't the faintest idea, Where He is. Haven't seen from him in 10 od years, although he did call My Mom, about 5 years ago. Hope He is well, And i Love him, and miss Him! Buzzy Linhart, is from NYC, also, Even has a street named after Him, For His musical contribution's, With World famous Jimi Hendrix, And His, "Right" Hand Man, Mega producer, Eddie Kramer. Gee, If Only i was alive and of thinking age, and knew what was going on back then! I probably would have dug the 60's Rock era! Maybe?...Maybe Not.

Hi Joe (and all).

Glad to hear you're back to health (my GF had that 2 years ago so understand how it knocks you down).

Call me mad - BUT - was toying with coming over with my JS3 for a (re) set-up by your techie. Is it still Gary Brawer and can you poss send me some contact details for him?

This guitar is V special to me (donnie graphics, signed by you - we first met on a walk through London to Hammersmith Apollo during an IRA bomb scare, FIABD tour: ring any bells?), so think I should hold it's hand... lol.

Anyways, hoping you can help, and can't wait for the next album! ITLIS is my fave yet, just too much good stuff to choose from, but the whammy pedal "chorus" on Searching always gets me.

Take care. Phil

Joe's fan mail message! For those of you who might not subscribe!

MESSAGE FROM JOE ______________________________________________________________________________

It's February, 2005 and we are gearing up for another exciting year of live shows and recording! But, did you know that the Peavey JSX head won Amp of the Year at this year's NAMM show? Well it did! And we managed to release the combo version at the show as well. The new combo comes in a 2x12 enclosure and has added reverb and a half power switch for extra tonal possibilities. At the Ibanez booth, which had the most amazing three story Ultra Man figure presiding over the whole affair, we released the new JS Chrome guitar. It's a limited edition specially plated wood JS1000, with an added phase switch just for fun. Get 'em while you can! Oh yeah, you must check out the new book on the history of Ibanez. It's a fantastic book that tells the whole story and is filled with photos of guitars, artists and all the cool people who make and have made the Hoshino company what it is today.

Now that I'm officially cured of my pneumonia I'm eager to get back to rockin' out! Thanks for all the "get well" wishes{:?}.

Our touring schedule as of this date will bring us to Australia and New Zealand in March, the West Coast of the USA in April and Japan (G3 w/ Vai/Petrucci) in May. I'm waiting to hear about a possible European Festival tour, when I know, you will too!

Recording will most likely start in the fall. but, we might try a few things during the summer as well. Don't ask me what direction I'm going in with the new stuff, 'cause I don't know yet myself!

Remember to check out our webcast that'll be happening in the sprint (see details below).

I'll be back, Joe

______________________________________________________________________________ RESCHEDULED WEBCAST ______________________________________________________________________________

Our planned webcast recording in January was postponed due to Joe's illness but is now back on! We'll be down in Anaheim in April and are planning on a March launch online. We'll have more details as the date gets closer, so stay tuned!
