JOE PERRY'S SOLO ALBUM OUT THIS SPRING!

For all you Aerosmith fans needing a fix...Columbia Records is set to release Joe's new album, titled Joe Perry. This is the eagerly-awaited new solo album from rock icon, Joe Perry, whose incendiary guitar work and songwriting for Aerosmith helped earn the group its ongoing multi- platinum status, four Grammy Awards, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2001). Recorded at the Boneyard--Perry's basement home studio in Boston--Joe Perry achieves a smoldering intensity via Perry's signature guitar riffs and unmistakable deep vocals. The album's 13 tracks include 11 new Joe Perry original compositions as well as covers of the Doors' "The Crystal Ship" and Woody Guthrie's "Vigilante Man."

Joe Perry is in stores on Tuesday, May 3. And tour dates to follow! All happening this Spring, so don't let your membership lapse!

U.S. Guards Threw Mudwrestling Party Prison Camp?

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. military police threw a mudwrestling party at a prison camp in Iraq (news - web sites) and a woman who took part has been found guilty of indecent exposure and demoted, the U.S. military said Monday.

At least three female guards stripped to their underwear and wrestled each other in a paddling pool full of mud in the grounds of Camp Bucca, the biggest U.S. camp for detainees in Iraq, Lt. Col. Barry Johnson said.

Several guards who watched the wrestling have been reprimanded for failing to intervene.

The party took place on Oct. 30 last year, when one U.S. military police battalion, the 160th, was about to hand over responsibility to another, the 105th.

Officers from both battalions were involved and photographs were taken. A prison guard found the photos sometime later and handed them over to the camp's commanders.

"It does not appear that alcohol was involved and there is no evidence to support suggestions of any type of sexual misconduct," Johnson told Reuters.

"Detainees were nowhere in the vicinity and they had no possible way of seeing what occurred."

He said the incident was being investigated further and did not rule out further punishment. He declined to name the demoted soldier.

Anyone here use protools free? it's the free 8-track version of protools.

I just downloaded the win98/ME version from the protools website, but I hope to run it on Win XP.

Hi everyone!

Suzie2000, here is the link: Joe, Rubina and ZZ:
http://www.satriani.com/2000/road/2000-08-10/foto8.jpg

Stevee T, estrela, hola, the original name of the Spicy Spanish Sausage I was referring to is "chistorra", it's a very characteristic spicy red sausage, usually prepared grilled with red peppers and a touch of pepper, and served with a drink before lunch or in the afternoon. It's a hot "tapa" (snack)! It goes well with other meals too, one of the best it's with rice and vegetables. It's a type of "chorizo" but more spicy and I think it's more delicious, try it if you like :-)

estrela, glad to see you! sorry to hear you were a bit sad, I'm sure you'll find the joyful path soon. You sound a very passionate woman and life is passion!
Anyway I want to respond you to some of your questions I have pending, I've been out the weekend. I hope to put a smile on your face with these thingies :-)
I'm not sure about the origin of "chorizo" but I always thought it was Spanish, from Catalonia, not Portuguese ¿¿?? let's leave it as Iberian :-) and I want to try that Calabrezza!
About those Brazilian musicians you mentioned, I know Chico Buarque and Carlinhos Brown only by name, I'm not very much into vocal music, but I've listened to Caetano Veloso, that distinct soft voice... Right now I remember a nice version of the famous bolero "Contigo en la distancia" and "The Girl from Ipanema".
After Nando Lauria, the other Brazilian musician I love is Torcuato Mariano, he was born in Argentina, but he moved to Brazil being a child, so he is Brazilian in adoption, great guitarist, a real hybrid between Jeff Beck, Toninho Horta and Pat Metheny, an explosive fusion! And enjoy the Carnival, I wish I could be there :-)

Steven Wilde, hi! I've heard you are a bit down, I hope you feel better today. Be sure that all the good vibes you send daily will come back to you with more strength. And I want point out mikesb's advice, the best antidote to depressed moments is to have no time to think, that's a great truth that we all know but sometimes we don't want to see or forget. So be focused in the artistic creation, it's the best outlet, then when you feel better, you can't believe what you have created. I have an artistic temperament too, I'll tell you someday. Believe in the wonderful and unique person you are, the world need more Steven Wilde! About if I play guitar, well... I have two guitars, I play a little, I'll tell you later :-) And extra pile of good vibes to you, see you soon, and please Steven, never think about drinking :-(

962, hi, about past and current musical likings, yes it's something that in some way or other happen to musicians and music enthusiasts, it's ages since I listened to many favorite bands. I'm curious to Nuno Bettencourt, the last album I've heard of him was Schizophonic, do you know if he has released something instrumental?

bahduh, hi! how are things? I'll reply to your mail very soon, all the best

Twisted Nipple, I love Strange Beautiful Music!

michelle, sorry to hear about your stepdad, my best wishes

It's really important to have a yearly check-up. Diabetes is a silent illness, there are lots of people who have it and still don't know it :-(

marimariSRV, it sounds like you had a blast at NAMM! thanks for sharing all these stories :-)

civgeek, happy 500!
