Estrela by the way, if you want to post direct links that come up in blue font, I finally mastered it after many tries to get it right!
You type (make sure it's square brackets) [ link] except don't leave any gaps!
then without any gaps the web address e.g.
http://www.satriani.com
then [ /link] but don't leave gaps!!!
and it should work I hope!
I had to type it out in this dopey way otherwise www.satriani.com would just have come up as a link... actually I will just test it to make sure I'm not talking crap!!! Here goes... (using the above method...)

Yes, i've been kind a worried, and Mikesb gave us a very good example of life, we have to keep on, always expecting for better things, "better place", positive thoughts, good vibes, we can not permit sadness in our hearts, life goes on!! and you are right about me, i'm very enthusiastic and passionate person, i'm just facing a little problem that is really annoying me, but I know that everything will be fine soon! Yesterday by the way I watched 2 films in a row which proceeded to give me bad dreams: The Village followed by Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (Uncut).
I liked "The Village" and didn't think it was scary but that horrible red costume kept coming into my mind just as I was dropping off, it kind of reminded me of that scary "sandman" character that freaked me out as a child... Does anyone else remember that? My dad used to say to me (if I didn't go to sleep) the sandman would come and get me... I think I took it a bit too seriously though!!!
Time to put on a Disney film now I think!!!

First of all I have been looking for that model Ibanez for nearly a year (as well as the 7620) and have had limited luck. I have just under £200 and saw the opportunity to buy this guitar but wanted to make sure it was ok with my parents seeing as its a large amount of money to exchange over the net. Anywayz my Mom said "Yeah sure, its your money you can do whatever you want with it."...HOWEVER my Dad said "What do you want another guitar for? You can't even play the ones you've got, it'd be a waste of money and time. If you buy it then how are you going to pay for driving lessons? I'm not going to pay for them for you. I'd advise you to leave it and spend your money on something worthwhile."...
...yeah, I'd be lying if I said that didn't hurt a shit load, not too bothered about the guitar, just the "...you can't even play the ones you've got...it'd be a waste of money and time"...etc...
So by implication I have been wasting my time for the past two years.

Sound like your situation is simular to mine. I have a kid who wants to play guitar, doesn't have a guitar, and I don't have an extra to give him. I had my first lesson with him saturday and went over string names, fret markings, proper holding technique, and small finger excersize(sp?) to build up muscles in his fingers, and dependency in each seperate finger. Someone did say teach them a song they that's easy to play, I apologize for not giving proper credit to the individual i just can't remember who it was, that works wonders, it does help build confidence in them selves. I've found teaching some music theory to them works too, such as how to read music and how chords are formed, but it only worked with people who were around 16-18. PS I'm not a teacher so I really don't know if I'm helping much, but I did want to try. It is a hard position to be in for the first time.

ibanezfox..yeah..except i have a 2nd guitar..i would of thought theory would put kids off...so just stick with chords, and songs they know to build up confidence and knowledge of chords and how to play rythmn. and also tunings and restringing. the basics of guitar to get you anywhere...then work on that..depends on how well they're doing.

Defino - Don't sweat it Homez. Just use that as motivation. When your tired of practicing, think of that or put a note in front of you and use the anger in a positive fashion. Most of all, don't let it break you down.

Delfino Hey man, I just read the problem you had with your father comments; I've been in that situation, people say get serius, get a real job, don't be a dreamer, and all that shit... But with time I learned that nobody it´s gonna feel the music the way I do, and you can't ask to your family or friends to understand tha way you feel the music, because they can't feel it the same way... so I ended here posting with other musicians, and now I know there are other peoples like me that dream and live on music... so man...KEEP ON ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD.

No I wouldn't go lending him a guitar for practicing on. If he gets on okay, his parents can buy him a guitar, that's not your problem! Just my opinion though!

civgeek, haha, thanks for posting that news report! I was actually totally unaware of the new immigration policy passed the other day! It's all a bunch of crap, regardless of what it says. All government policies suck! The immigration thing is particularly entertaining, when you consider the number of british people who were born in this country after their parents moved here. but they were born here, so somehow that's different?!? if they are allowed to stay, then others should be allowed to join them. We need the immigrant workers anyway....they're the only ones who actually do anything, even if they do get paid half-minimum-wage for it. God I am so fed up of living in this sh*thole. Any fine young brazillian lasses need a housemate? :-D

LucySorets, no I don't think Nuno would ever do an instrumental album. however, after his solo record, Schizophonic, he recorded two amazing, mind0numbingly brilliant records under the "Mourning Widows" band title. It was him, his nephew, Donovan, and Jeff Consi....i think it was Jeff.....anyway, "Mourning Widows - Self Titled" and "Mourning Widows - Furnished Souls For Rent" are two of the best CD's in my collection. Up there with EJ's Venus Isle, Joe's FIABD and Vai's Fire Garden. The overall sound is perfectly ballanced, the lyrics are awesome, the tones are amazing, and Nuno's singing, not to mention arranging, is the best it's ever been. There's some amazing guitar solos in it, and some of the best rhythm guitar playing you'll hear, the sort that puts me off listening to Jon Petrucci.
haha, you'd think Nuno was paying me to say all that, but no! Also, his newest venture is "Population 1" who currently only have one record out. I have it on order but it's taking it's time. I can't wait to hear it though!
Delfino, argue with your dad, get annoyed with him, make a big scene and don't worry if it effects everyone around you....it will show your dad how serious music actually is to you, and he may start to understand that he's wrong, cause it was his fault that you fell out. Sounds like a pretty stupid suggestion, I know, but I'd be very surprised if it didn't work.

Angie, Suzie, Estrela - I've found that it is easiest to cut and paste the link formatt from under the message window and then C/P your address between the quotes. Then highlight *TEXT* and type your link title. Just my 2 cents.

Re Eddies Eruption, it still has a lower ranking in my heart and brain than "I'm the One" and that is just because that was the FIRST Van H tune I ever heard, Eddie's furious riffing coming crystal clear thru a 2-1/2 inch Volkswagen Beetle speaker... It blew us off the road, a defining moment in my musical journey...

Simon - I'm sure you could find a nice Brazillian hotty if you wanted to!! The immigration problem, in a way, is a good problem to have. What that means is that you have a country that is thriving. Where people can make a good living,feed and educate, their children, and hopefully give their children a better life than the one they had themselves. Here on the west coast we have a large hispanic population. Being Mexican I hear stuff all the time about how there are all these illegals running around. When I ak who they think is working the feilds and the processing plants that put food on the tables around here I get that deer in the headlights look. People don't see that it is on the back of the immigrant that our country continues. I know I would work in the feilds. F&*(^ that !!! That's hard work.

Clarky and someone else were talkin bout Spanish/Dutch. Anyone heard of the spanish dutch musician Valensia?? This dude has cranked out a Queen copy album ( Lion Records) on which he did every single thing including the artwork. I am not big on tribute stuff but this guy sounds EXACTLY like Queen in every single detail, voice, guitar, drums hanmonies etc you name it. He also has an album of originals that once again sound EXACTLY like Queen. That piece has the oh so original title "The Majesty of Rock"
