Re: Artanis 1

i have 'Cats & Dogs' on dvd ;D i love Mr. Tinkles he's a riot - and his sidekick, the one voiced by Jon Lovitz.

i have never laughed so much in a movie theatre - when Mr. Tinkles offers up the entire continent of Australia - i lost it, most of the room did.

something tells me the rest of the world wouldn't of found it as funny - but being an Aussie it was hilarious

'black cloud? is that what it's called?.....STORM yes because like a storm......'

CuthBert1776:

Well put.

If I may continue by adding that this legislation is merely another in a long line of such bills that take our freedoms away from us, publicize our private lives, and make a mockary of the true intention of this country.

It goes a long way back even before this country was founded.

Once upon a time there existed a place where true freedoms were the only concepts that were considered important and valuable. It was something actually worth fighting for. This place was called Alexandria. This ancient city, where science methods were being first developed also had free education. The important point of life was becoming a better human. Educators were volunteers as was the student. Medicine began at this place, the earliest known record of real physics and astronomy was being developed, the Earth going around the Sun along with the mathematics to prove it was found here! Well before the Roman Empire. In the Time of Ptolemy and Cleopatra.

Of course it was ripe for resources and hated by conquerors. The Philosphies were counter to capitalism and seen as a philosophical nightmare. Ideas were too revolutionary. How does one make money after all? From an emperors perspective I mean.

You need people to work for the benefit of the Empire. Food needs farming, Clothes need quilting, shoes, boots, etc. You can't have people learning of more important things and questioning the reason that they need the Emperor. You must have control of the economy. Profitable ideas untried are taboo, unproven, feared for even being considered.

You must rid yourself of any philosophy of Gods other than what you are familiar with and make it blasphemus to do so otherwise. How do you do that? Fear, plain and simple, a tool even cavemen used to keep the peace perhaps.

Work a deal with your top religious representatives and form a plan. Impose this religion to all and make them fear if they do not comply. For if they do not they will be placed into a place that is the worst nightmare of all things existing on Earth, in fact it is not of this Earth. (this is especially good since no comprehension of a life other than one on Earth existed) "Huh...its the occult! A place where the most horrific things take place and once there you will not die or escape. For all eternity. Then you give them some real life demonstrations of fear and death, destroy some villages, rape, torture, men, women, and children. Dispatch some propaganda throughout the Empire.

Destroy all data that could lead to a questioning of this act such as burning the Libraries, book burnings, journals, etc. Literally wipe it from the face of the planet. As you develop your new religion you can tweak it every now and then, when necessary to fend off any unforseen or intolerable niches that flare up. But, more importantly you now have a workable work force for your bidding.

continued next post.

Take a look for yourself, you will find significant philosophical differences between the Empires that existed up to and before Alaxendria, and those Empires since the destruction of it. The most obvious difference is that of education institutions. At first none exist, then a very limited amount but controlled by the Empire. This is due to the customizations and tweaks made over the years, you can't keep all of them down. Aristotle was a large contributor to this concept. Some people are just naturally intelligent and begin writing ideas down, then it is passed from one to another until it becomes an important part of education, only controlled in its release. It is controlled by limiting the exposure to the public by means of money, and power. You cannot have a proper education without getting into one of these controlled institutions. And, though there are intentional loopholes made so that those who are more intelligent but not of means can also benefit, they are not a large percentage at all.

You see, if you let everyone have a free education who will take the shit pots to the river? The more unfortunate conclusion is that most people are mindless cows. So long as you give them food, shelter, and a carrot to chase, this is all they will do.

The governments of today are of the herds before and now are in a autopilot mode to keep this completely natural feeling of existence going. The numbers, growing exponentially, simply far outwiegh the ability to stop it. Barring a global tragedy of some sort it will not stop. It is so clear to me that I laugh cynically at its beauty now, it is an art formed unto itself.

Oh, God... Despite being in my final year, I'm still not very good at getting up for these nine o'clock lectures... I'm awake now but I certainly don't feel conscious. I need a stiff coffee or ten... lol. Speaking of which, I feel very sorry for my housemate at the moment, as he's given up caffeine and alcohol for lent. Not much of the 'student life' left for him!!! lol

Ah, well - just thought I'd check in.

Steven Wilde, allright bro, hows things with you? hows things with you and this california babe huh?! hehe, hope all is good! No I still didn't get th new part yet, but I'm told it's meant to arrive today, so if it does, I can build my system today. I exchenged my RG yesterday for a bass amp, a Boss bass compressor pedal and a Line 6 POD 2! I haven't played the RG since I had it repaired, so thought I'd change it for something more useful! The bass amp is only tiny - it's a Laney 15watt practice amp, but....it works! The POD is cool, It'll take me a while to learn how to use it and set it up, but it's "Pilot's Handbook" is comprehensive, to say the least!

Good to say you've been getting into the blues-playing thing.....excellent! Keep going dude, blues is fun, G3 96's rendition of Red House being an excellent case-in-point.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - everybody needs to get themselves a copy of Population 1, the new album/venture from Nuno bettencourt
agape1010, get the JS1000.....you don't need to pay that much extra just for a different colour and a different pickup that can be replaced at low expense. Anyway, the Burnt Transparent Blue, or whatever they call it, is more exciting than the Candy Apple red.
Suzie, thanks for the heads-up on Collateral. I didn't see that either, and have been wondering what it's like! I'll have to get it when I can! Are you on half term this week?
Stevee T, yeah it's interesting what you said about the JS100 - I've always found they sound and play far, far better than anything else at the same price! The stock pickups, even though they are just Ibanez ones, are pretty good!
XtrChessReal/civgeek/agape, not quite.....the JS 1200 has exactly the same Edge Pro 2 trem on it as the JS1000. It's the JS2000 that has the crazy fixed bridge with the fine tuners.
NJBeast, sorry about your gran, that sucks. I wish there was a neater way of dealing with incurable cancers, rather than just pumping people full of drugs. Still, at least the drugs help stop the pain...
jazzzzy, this picture of Satch you want to put up, is it just a photo or is it an edit like before? If it's an edit, mail it to me and I'll put it up on my webshots page.

oops, I just saw that you uploaded it. still, if you want it hosted in another place then you're welcome to send it!

bahduh - He's out of hospital now, and, apart from two broken legs, has made a full recovery. At first there were concerns as to whether or not he'd ever regain consciousness, but now they're saying that he'll walk again and stuff in due course. Amazing. Your concerns are greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Joe, and thanks to Toni, who reminds me of Joe, apparently he looks quite similar to you.

civgeek, it makes such a difference when the folks in your band are responsible adults and not non caring shits. lol! Did I mention that the bass players wife was my sister in both bands? lol! *groan*

Jazzy, I never said I was a good singer. lmao! It's not often I sing so loud, but when the mood hits me, I feel the need to protect other people and soundproof the area. lol! I took a listen to Porcupine Tree. Not the thing for me at the moment. Pink Floyd is a fantastic band, but there's a lot of emotional memories tied to that band that I would rather keep in the past. Music is the soundtrack of life and all that. lol! Some spots are better than others. lol! ha! Me no clicky on yo linky butt pie! lmao! I have the Badger song on my first T2J cd if you remember correctly. I can listen to it any time, any where. lol! Don't be jealous.

DaveyBaby Welcome back bro', nice to see you surfin' again :-)

Steven W I'm good as always bro'.................. running around like an idiot at work but hey, that's the job!

CivGeek Do you have a 'road tax' for cars in the US, by that I mean a fixed charge per vehicle (varying in cost by the vehicle type) payable on an annual basis ? That's how the upkeep on roads in the UK is paid for (although given the state of the roads they're obviously undercharging or siphoning the money off elsewhere!). The other thing for 'new builds' is the PFI (private finance iniatative) approach, whereby a consortium builds and maintains the road, which is paid for by road tolls.

962 I've got a POD 2 man, using the SoundDiver software is the best way to find the sounds that you're looking for. btw leave it out on the Nuno recommendation dude, I've only just coughed up £43 for the Guitar Wars DVD -lmao. Thanks for the link.................. of course if it's no good I'm gonna track you down and kick you ass - lol ;-) ;-)

Estrela- a bit confused by your post " MIKESB: i think that Suzie2000 was referring to herself sitting on the fence, not Joe. Am i right ?" You are right, but I couldn't find a post by MIKESB about it at all?

MIKESB- ???

Bahduh- Hi there, hope your day is going well.

Steven- Thanks, hope you can make it over here, like I said you would be most welcome! Matt says hi as well. Hope you've had some good rest lately! :-)

Angie Read- Unfortunately my computer has no sound, but that does look like a cool game!

Clarky- JS Bach is probably my very favourite composer. So complicated to play though- if you muck it up it's pretty damn obvious too, there's no getting away with it by trying to cover it up! (on the piano- sadly I don't have a harpsichord...) Maybe if I get a bit better I will be better at covering up errors- or stop making them, one or the other LOL! My piano teacher has a harpsichord though, sometimes I can play that one though, which is great :-)

Jazzzzzzzy- Happy 1500th! :-)

Cheese101- I loved that Insanity thing you posted!

962- Yep I'm on half term, haven't got to see those dear sweet children again until... Monday! I definitely recommend Collateral though!!

I don't know if you an access my iTunes. I think I can post my play lists on line, and then you can purchase the songs, if you want, but that is about it.

If you were on my computer network, I remember reading that I can share my songs on my network. But I do not think you can access them over the internet.

Hi everyone again! Thanks for warm welcome everybody. I guess the chances to actually talk to Joe in this section of the site are close to zero, so I'll try contacting the promoter to get Joe's signature on my JS1000.

By the way, does anybody know how to tune it properly (I mean the springs that control the bridge)? Or maybe there's a site about it? I couldnt find one...

962 - My bad on the 1200, I had totally forgot there was a 2000. Old age again!!!

Big Bunny - I got the natural tone. It is darker on the edges then fades lighter to themiddle. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

VFRrocker No we don't have a "road tax" There is only a tax on *petrol* and another on the trucking industry. Due to their extra wear and tear. But the pay by the mile will be more like a road tax. We do have a few private roads here(from memory) 2 in Houston, 2 in So.Cali, and one more thgat is escaping me. right now, of course it it 5:45 am too. I just read Cuthbert's post. I agree. It's the fact that there are somany layers of crap to go through for the money to make it into the right account. every layer takes it's cut. I'm not anti Gov't at all I just would like to see it ran more like a business. With some accountability to it's shareholders(citizens).

Cuth - Yea, it is a good site because it is basically a *rat out the other firms* site. All the mistakes are there. LOL I've seen the chips for your pet too. That is scary. And they now have that pilot program at a highschool where each child is given a badge that they have to wear. They are then tracked thoughout the day. God I wish I could just sit down and have cofee with some of ya'll and talk for hours. Ok, I can see the schools point of view. Increased security, if they find some vandalism they can track who was there(if they had theirbadge on, which I wouldn't but...) etc. Now I can also see the parents point that this is an invasion of privacy. On the third hand it would seem that there is going to be a market created by the fear of our children getting kidnapped. As a parent you want to do all you can to protect you kids so why not!! But then do you take the chip out at 18. Hell as a parent I would love to have access to a GPS unit in my kid. "Suzie I thought you said you were going to the libary? From my data it shows you were on the beach." But will that make the kid an outcast. And do we REALLY want to know that our daughters are getting shaged by some guitar playing freak. It is all scary shit. The worst for me is that I hate living out from the city so I can't even move away to avoid all this. *big sigh* I guess life is like jazz, you learn all you can, but in the end you're playing by ear.
