Jazzzzzzy - cool. Great songs. I assume u got it at Amazon.co.uk right? I didnt see it on Amazon.com. Martin is a great wordsmith - amazes me. He is also the dude that invented a new capo called Varichord. I mentioned it here b4 a couple of times and i think someone here bought one. His dad is very famous - 7 times world Irish pipe champion, very famous musical group "The Fureys" and his dad is the pub singer guy in Gangs of New York. Interesting little facts for ya. As Martin told me, people who like his dad's music generally dont like his!

DCK - Check YOUR email! :o)

punkdude.......as zinc master pointed out the story has been around for a while . It's just an email I got that I thought was funny.

If I was to say "TRUE STORY" Elvis is alive and well and is sleeping in the back of my shed.

Would this prove I can be a reliable and trustworthy person....lol :)

LOVE YA JOE!!!

Hi peeps. I'm way behind on here, and in my email. I'll try to get back to everyone within the next couple of days. My pop is doing better. He finally walked about 10 steps to the bathroom in his hosp. room, and walked back to his bed today. A lot of his pain in his kidneys, belly, & back is going away, and he feels and looks better. They also took the IV away today. He's still swelled in his hands and ankles pretty bad. It looks pretty painful, but he's in good spirits now. He's probably not going to be able to work for a while after he's released though. He still has no strength in his hands & feet. Anyways, things are looking up! He still has a long way to go, but he's so much better than he was on Monday. My mom is a trooper. She's hanging in there too.

Thanks to everyone here for your support! I love you folks :)

*group hug!*

Oh, before I forget - JBLAZE says hello to everyone. He is very busy these days, but doing well :)

ZENFISH- I Am sorry to hear about the negitive feedback. It sort of show's how limited much of today's lisenter's are. I cant tell You, as well You probably Know, How many Popular artist's have met with that same welcome! SRV getting booed off the stage...Bob Dylan, Robert fripp.the list can go on. I belive that the sucsess lies in the indivudual (S)And it seems that You have devoted much into Zenfish, Like I have devoted All My time into Abovethenumbers. It's Our Life, In A matter of speaking. And there are many heartbreaking, and disheartining No, No, No,'s. And it's awful. I Know!!!! But, there are those that are waiting for that speacial Zenfish sound, and quality, Such as with ATN. Please Fred, Don't ever stop thinking about, or stop writing, and Playing! It is all positive, and good! And trust Steven, here! Your effort's will lead to great thing's! and I am not just talking to hear My teeth rattleLOL I have been told that i am A a pretty good songwriter. And from some of the lyric's you have shared with Me, Are pretty doggone nice! They would really Love that stuff over here, in this part of the US contitent. LA, and San fran, area! Well, i have talked your ear off again. So I'll shut up now. Anyhow, Alway's best wishes, and, best, Of Luck for you, and Your Family!

THE END or the analogy of Oeidipe's complex in west conquest.

Song written by The Doors, in L.A., California, West cost of America.

The word "End" is polysemous in the Morrison's terminology. Indeed, The End, place absolute of the shaman vision, place of birth, life & death of each instant, special & dangerous place where the chaos of vision can arrange the alchemy of spirit, gets lot of different meaning in Morrison's poetry.

In the song The End, the word the end is before all the chaotic place of shamanism:

"This is the end, beautiful friend,

This is the end, my only friend the end."

An echo of blues lament with idea of death is of course here: "I never look into your eyes again". But it's not all the wish to commit suicide which is celebrated here. A Shaman is invinting us to his mental journey. "The End of all our elaborated plans" is the end of our conventional & social life, & the begining of the night life & alchemical vision.

By the same time, The End gets a western meanning. Morrison got a cinematic schooling. THE END are the words written at the end of all old movies & western movies. Morrison is expressing the movement of American civilisation from the Est until the West, from the birth of day until the birth of night.

"The best is the west".

At the end of west conquest is the begining of youngness power. At the end of "Gold mines" is the begining of "all the children insane".

The End is strange transition of thought, strange mutation of idea, & intiatic journey. & of course, dream. End of American dream, begining of Morrison's dream.

"The blue bus is calling us"

"Ride the snake"

Blue bus of psychedelic blues, blue bus of youngness freedom & power, blue bus of sun rising & night walking, the end is the begining of progressiv Rock'n'roll & the end of all coercive powers (moral, religious or politic).

"Can you picture what we'll be..."

The Snake is the symbol of a new power. The power of free vision. A shamanic & historic vision: the vision of the Lizard King. But it's not at all an egotic & personal vision that's Morrison is giving to us. No, it's a Shamanic transe.

& the analogy of Oeidipe's complex can arise in the dark hall of truth & meaning, "before dawn", before the begining, but at the end of all begining.

The alchemic delirium is then without end, infinite: The end is all, ancient lake, snake, hall, blue bus, total fusion of Greek poetry & Indian Shamanism, & playing with psychanalitic science & history. & the vision is definilty out there.

& then the Shaman comes to a door & sees & bears in his shamanic transe the Oeidipe's complex in west conquest.

The all young America (the killer) wants to kill Europe (father) & fuck the indian earth (mother).

The vision of dark universal pulsions is. Isn't it, my dear brother, my dear sister?

THE END.

Zenfish:Mr J Morissons fascination with death was equalled only by his lacking of light, his own exit may have seen him into his senior years had his spiritual ego & curiosity with the dark side been kept in check, unfortunately, that nailed anything else that was good inside, pity Mr no3 wasnt wise enough t stop it from coming, then again maybe he wanted to be No 3,after Jimi Hendrix & Janis.Either way, pretty stupid

I am really HOPING THAT JOE WILL READ THIS MESSAGE, As my nick name suggests i am a parent of 2 young boys, ... I have bought tickets for my Husband and my 12 year old son to go and see Joe when he is playing here in Adelaide, South Australia. My son is an much much admired fan of Joe, he can pick up that guitar and rattle of Joe tunes and my mum mouth is drops open with amazement, My son is soooo good and pracitces everyday like there is no tomorrow, My hubby took him along to see Steve Vai last year and had a very rare opportunity to meet him back stage, had photos taken...... Gees i never thought i would wipe the smile on his face.... Until the day i bought his tickets to see Joe, I tired to keep it a secret and surprise but i couldnt, i walked in and asked the question - "who is the person in the whole world that you want to seein concert" his reply was -" why ask - it cant happen " i said 'just tell me" - and grin from ear to ear come across his face and he said "statch" .... "Guess what mum got today" - i will never ever forgot his face that day.... when i told him...he was over the moon.. Please Joe is you or anyone from your band ever read this email, please think hard and help a mum that is trying to give her son the best 13th birthday present ever... ... He is 13, 12 days before your concert, and at the moment he is trying to get the solo of Surfing with the ailien. ..... PLEASE IF YOU COULD SPARE 5 MINUTES BEFORE OR AFTER THE CONCERT ..... you would make my son ( and hubby) soooooooo happy.

Check this one:Hillary Clinton died and went to heaven. St. Peter approached her and says "Hillary, I know you're 'somebody' down on Earth, but up here, you're just another person. And, I'm swamped right now, so have a seat and I'll get back with you as soon as I can."

So Hillary sits down and begins looking at her surroundings. She notices a huge wall that extends as far as the eye can see. And on that wall there are millions and millions of clocks. She can't help notice that on occasion some of the clocks jump ahead fifteen minutes.

When St. Peter returns she asks "What's the deal with the clocks?"

St. Peter replies "There is a clock on the wall for every married man on Earth."

Hillary asks, "Well what does it mean when the clock jumps ahead 15 minutes?"

St. Peter replies, "That means that the man that belongs to that clock has just committed adultery."

Hillary asks, "Well, is my husband's clock on the wall?"

St. Peter replies, "Of course not. God has it in his office and is using it for an electric fan." c u guys later

How was your weekend? Mine was two days in length.

Bahduh: ha ha no way, kangaroos are wild animals. Do you have a pet tiger? There aren't actually any "kangaroos" in Tassie, (we have wallabies though: the smaller cuter versions) they're all on the big island up north.

"snake in australian is prounounced snake" I was going to say that! Jazzy/Stevee: Steve Irwin (Croc Hunter) is the guy who took over from Paul Hogan (Mick "Crocodile" Dundee) as the person who makes everyone think Australians are idiots with horrific accents. And his baby was nowhere near the croc. It was a deceptive camera angle. Watch the actual TV footage and you'd see for yourself.

Big Bunny: did you watch that movie on Saturday night too? I thought however that dogs had a decent sense of smell, so I didn't understand how the ninjas could sneak around in the same room undetected...

Big Bad Moon Bloke: "the guy says i had my whole family try and try and try but none of us could get the jar open" that's a crack-up!

Punkdude: funny

Mum going deaf in Adelaide: if you add your name to the list of people attending the Adelaide show by going here and following the instructions, you could win a pass to go backstage after the show. (If you win it, you'll get an email letting you know.) Joe usually hangs around after a show, so if you're patient and willing to wait around for a while you might catch him anyway. Hope it goes well for you!

FabLawyer Thanks for the Slansh track man, real mellow....................looks like you're in trouble though - lol ;-)

ZenFish Keep at it man, you'll find an audience for your music, I'm sure.

Slansh Ha ha, nice summary bro'............. although a word of advice, substitute Charlie for base sulphate and your bank balance remains intact- lol. Back in the day that was the yuppie choice, us low life stuck to the yellow paste - ha ha ;-) You wouldn't change a thing ? That's an intriguging statement, maybe if I hadn't have been avoiding life I could say the same. I would have changed the duration of my lifestyle but not the exposure to it. Definitely expands the mind,as does all experience in life.................... these days I'm happy with the 'natural' experiences, and a little 3ft one of them has just walked past me :-)

mortymusic, do you think you need to be a little more arty about your composition process, rather than employing theory for the fundamentals? Using theory too extensively can make things sound really clinical. A-la John Petrucci. I dunno....I find it really hard to compose stuff as well, so I can't help much....I can sympathise though!
Stevee T, Sax Player et al, yes they are, indeed, shouting STUUUUU, and that is promptly followed by joe saying "They Stu him cause they love him", which, unfortuanately, is not enough to make it clear what's going on, cause just-about-everybody asks that same question!
