Hey, this is my first post. I've just recently started to listening to Joe. Wow. Absolutely insane. I've actually been playing guitar for 3 years now and have attempted to record some stuff and I thought it'd be cool to see what people who listen to the same music I do think of it. Here's the direct link for my what I think is my best recording. Song If you wanna check out the rest of my website it's www.blairconner.tk

guitargodsfan - That is awesome that you have 4 hours a day to practice.I wish I had that a week. Her are some things that my teacher has passed along. You should set up a binder with tabs and sections. On each day you should outline what you want to accomplish. This could be scales, technique (right hand, left hand & together), sight reading, transcription, sight singing, listening(not in the backgroung but concentrated listening) arranging, gear familiarity ( figuring out patches, practicing wah pedal, practicing patch changes, documenting patch settings), chordal theory and comping. Set a time for each. You don't have to do all of them in the same day. Spread it out so that you don't get bored. Try to practice at the same time every day. Your body loves routines. After a while of practicing at the same time you will almost crave practice because your body will tell you it is time. Oh and the last topic. Jamming. Set a chord progression and play over the top. And most of all have fun.

Hi to all I finally got to listen to the Satcherated CD about 10 timnes over a business trip. Incredible playing! Some of the recordings should be on their own albums!

I am going to try a few home recording programs and see what I like. Any suggestions on fairly inexpensive home recording software programs?

Non-Lethal Weapons Considered by the U.S. Military

5> The RonJeremizer: Very, very large-sized condoms air-dropped behind enemy lines to demoralize their troops.

4> Mirrors of Ass Distortion: Strategically placed funhouse mirrors demoralize enemy by making them believe that those fatigues DO make their asses look fat.

3> The Dem Bomb: Turns fighters into Democrats, upon which they immediately throw down their weapons, draw up signs and organize protests, and nobody pays them any mind.

2> The Auntie-Combat Squad: Send in aunts to give cheek pinches and big wet kisses.

and the Number 1 Non-Lethal Weapon Considered by the U.S. Military...

1> Raffi-tillary: Imbeds popular toddlers' songs into enemy's heads, causing incessant rapping of forehead with butt of rifle in an attempt to drive out the never-ending chorus.

I am in Chicago all the time - will be there this afternoon on business. On an average day, it is 40-60 minute drive, depending on traffic, weather, accidents.

Cuthbert, re Zen, don't forget about the dirth of bassplayers, the general music scene in his part of France and the "maudit" club/bar owners he is dealing with re gigs...

At the end of the day tho, I think you are right toooo much JDM for any kind of "positive" vibe...

On that note Zen, whaddya think of Evanescence?? Very uplifting stuff LOL....................................

Wow...6 pages of posts to browse through....no wonder the chat room is always empty.

I need some input from everyone here....If you were to go out and see a band at a bar and they did all cover tunes, which songs would you want to hear? No classic rock songs allowed !! I hope I see some killer set lists from y'all.

Cuthbert- as I've not seen the Grammy awards I don't know either, like I said all I know is what people have posted. When I've seen Brian Wilson during recent performances he has seemed in fairly rough shape, but then he has had a fairly rough time too! The fact he's still out there doing it at all is something remarkable, despite the criticism he gets for the bad shape he's in.
