Dear Joe:

Steve Vai's forum brought me here:

Nice idea...one little detail tho: it isn't Steve who is in charge of G3....it's Joe

its about G3 with John Petrucci in Japan:

Is there any chance that one of the shows will be recorded onto DVD? Its undenieable that it would be 'THE' perfect marketing trick, as there is the new Vai CD AND the new Petrucci CD coming out. Besides that, it would be just fair to all the non-Americans and Non-Japanese fans, to see how brilliant a gig with those 3 Geniusses can be. If anyone knows how to make this come true, don't hesitate!!!!! Joe, if you read this, come on, this must be possible!

If I'd ask who would buy it, the list'd be endless and the thread would exceed its boundaries, so I ask the other way around: Anyone who is against this stand up (I bet this won't be that much).

BAHDHUH- Hey, What's up? sorry i missed talking to you yesterday. But We will very soon! Hope You and the family are well! And thank's for all the great encouraging word's! And Don't fret to much about the grammies! There are a lot of talent there. And some we feel should win over other's. And that's actaually why the grammies are there. Actually, I haven't watched the grammies in say, Oh, Over 15 year's! 2 much dispaly of hype, and Sex? or maybe it's i am alway's enjoy doing something better with my time during that period. Who know's. My brother's and sisters watch'em, they seeem to dig it. Anyhow, Alway's know the grammies dont dictate To You what you Like to listen to! okay Mark, Take care bro' And You have mail also!...................................SteveeT- Hi, Good morning! Take care today!.............................ZENFISH- Yes, Thank's for the thumb's up! I am really enjoying this Bluesy pattern that I am coming up with! It's off the 12 bar pattern, but still Blue's. It is very intersting, and fun! And the technoque is so smooth! The note's really lnger as opposed to all the speed stuff, that I have been doing, now, i need to find a way to blend the two together! And build this real super duper-speed Blues feel, Bounce kind of thing! It sounds crazy, but i think it can be done. I am finding these bluesy notes that are just great! with the proper construction, and string bend's, They are very powerful! I showed a few of the stuff i was experimenting with to one of My instructors. and Their was this ear to ear grin! Anyhow hope thing' aare well with you, and that you are getting much done for Zenfish!.................................ANGIE READ- How goes it? havent seen You around latey, Hope your doing okay! well, have a nice day today! Steven Wilde: A big hello to YOU! I am just getting caught up from 20 pages of posts! I fell ill last Tuesday evening, struggled at work on Wednesday, called in sick on Thursday, recouped over the weekend, back in the office this morning. I am sorry for not posting sooner. I don't have a computer at home, so I can only communicate with my Satchfriends while I am at work. (shhhh don't tell my boss; ha ha, just kidding! I do work, too)
Steve T- I just went to your website and really enjoyed your music!

Cuthbert- I agree with what you are saying, it is very sad.

When Brian first experienced mental health problems, his idea was to remain as a composer while the Beach Boys performed his hits. Performance aside, Brian Wilson's latest album (Gettin' In Over My Head) I've really enjoyed. The thing that makes Brian a composer in my opinion is that he imagines first and then produces rather than improvising until something sounds good and then freeze framing that idea and producing a composition.

Vai is of course an amazing performer and composer and I love them both, but maybe some people would view Brian Wilson's compositions to be worthy of an award because they are compositions first and performances second.

Cuth - " just as civgeek won't catch any slack if he builds a bridge that fails. That's why I'm in transportation. If I screw up the worst that happens is you sit in more traffic. Unless, I guess, for signal timing. If you screw that up some could die. So, yea what he said!!

VF Rocker - Glad you liked the list. If you are ever in Portland, Oregon (as opposed to Portland, Maine) look us up.

silent_shady - As a cover band we have to appeal to a wide variety of people. If you look at that list there are 4 decades represented ( the oldest song being Brown Sugar released in '71) .Summer Song goes over fairly well because it got radio play. But you can't have too many instrumentals. Nature of the beast. What I'm planning on doing is rotating some different Satch songs through so that I don't get bored playing the same songs all the time. Plus as we get more popular, hopefully, we'll have one Satch on the list and then get a request from someone who had seen us before. Long answer to a short question. Hope that makes sense.

silent shady - Oh and I forgot to add, I'm the baby of the group at 38. Our drummer is the oldest at 55. So even within the band there is a wide range of tastes that have to met for a song to make it on our play list.

CIVGEEK: Matt Thanks for asking about Steven and Me. We are okay, for the most part. We are excited about our entry to the new TJ2 album next. I wish I could let you hear it right now, but lets just let the album develop over the time it need to.....we still have to go thru the picking process. You can find us and our music at abovethenumbers.com. Sorry I did not put it into a link, I'm still learning that kinda stuff. Regular "Life" in general has been car repair for me, and kinda depressing for Steven. We will get thru it all. We are survivors. I hope you have checked out the first TJ2 album, and hope you have a few Joe albums, too. JOE: Glad to hear you're healthy and happy. It makes a difference to all of us, that you have fun doing the music. It shows in your playing. Stay safe. Randell KTF
