steeveT - I've decided that my T2J track will have a theme that is highly unusual for someone like me....

it will be a "boys meets girl" track...

steven wilde - ha... flattery gets you everywhere... lol..

I've just got back from Germany... I have family there..
I went to a 40th birthday party....
so I've been pissing it up the wall all weekend... lol...

vfr - ever thought of learning to sight read??.. then this whole new world opens to you...

then your playing style and capabilities can take a serious leap..

Zen - I've been thinking... in some small ways, David Cross' music has the occasional parallel with the works of Artaud..

especially in his ethics that break from convention and at time deliberately make you feel uncomfortable...

and just like Artuad... there are those that hate him or write him off, there are also those that think him to be an increadibly creative musician.. some think him even to be a genius...

but none think him to be ok....

like Artaud... there is no middle ground....

Hey all. Just went out this week to purchase tickets to STEVE VAI at the Marquis Theater. So now I'll be seeing Steve on March 1st......... and Joe on april 6th!!!!!!! How awesome is that???!!!!! Also while at Zia records, I picked up a CD of G3 live in Kansas City as well as the G3 LIVE in Denver DVD.... (Now that I'm all jazzed about the impending shows..... I needed a quick fix!!!!!) After watching the DVD for the fourth time, I'm still blown away by how DAMN good the three of them are!!! (Joe, Steve and Yngwie) They play the most BADASS chops with such little effort!!! Joe impressed me with the single-handed arpeggio hammer-on pulloffs in MYSTICAL POTATO HEAD GROOVE THING. Steve was absolutely incredible on the intro to I KNOW YOU ARE HERE with his triple necked Ibanez. And Yngwie,......well even though he still thinks he is young and looks good in stretch leather(HAHH), I cannot deny the flawless precision of his Paganini speed riffs and his lightning fast arpeggios all over the neck!!! All in all an awesome DVD. Since then I have begun working on (Midnight) and Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing. I'm about a quarter of the way through both..... NO TABS Just playing by ear, as I always have. The two handed tapping technique used by JOE on MIDNIGHT was much easier to master than I thought. I feel like I'm entering a new level with my playing, I know that I am filled with a new INSPIRATION!!! Anyway, thanks for listening. Rob

Is anyone going to the Vai show on April 4th in Buffalo? I am and I'm so pumped. Heres something weird, on April 4th of 2004 (last year) I saw Yngwie in concert and now an exact year later I'm going to see Vai. Maybe next year i'll see Satch.

MARI - Hello. Hope you are feeling MUCH better. I saw your post and got your email. Glad you like it. Martin is an amazing lyricist (but I sing better lol). I cant reply to email. Going to Albany Monday after work to take the NY Bar on Tues and Wed - what a nightmare. Been 12 hours studying today so far. Wish I started earlier!! Ah - I'll wing it.

btw, I have no idea what show I am at for Vai. I checked the email and it didnt tell me so I dont know if I got early or late tix. As long as I'm there though. I was invited to an annual crawfish party in Atlanta and I really want to go to that too - but its on the same day. If I am on the late show, maybe I can do both - hmmm.

Talk to you soon.

Ronnie

IbanezGuitarist - spooky! Isnt it strange, i posted right after you and we both have the same fav. JS song listed - I won't be able to sleep! lol

Seriously, I like that - helps you remember when you saw the artist precisely. Hope you enjoy the show. Maybe Joe will read and specifically schedule Buffalo of April 4, 2006.

I arrive in Thailand on April 4!! It gets weirder.

Hey everyone! Not really a new member, just haven`t been here in a while. I`d like to invite everyone to check out my newly hosted website... www.phoenixskyfire.com . My album material won`t be on there untill it`s copyrighted, but for now there is a track that I made to jam on to keep my chops up. And if you do go, please sign the guestbook! It`s an awkward mix, as my recorder did some strange things a couple of weeks ago and sent my EQ and gain settings into limbo. I didn`t notice untill I ripped the cd and posted the song on the site. There is a new remix, with a new lead track, both tracks were done in one take. And on a second note, I`m looking for guitar players in DFW,TX to meet up with and jam. I`m a 1996 GIT grad, having all the usual influences on would expect. Thanks for reading!

Juju: haha sorry about the Memphis coffee spill, maybe I should have mentioned about it being quite heavy from "go" ... I love the throat clearing bit just after the initial onslaught though.

For security: whenever you hear anything at night time, crank up the "Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste" to high volume and grab something solid. I'm physically invincible in such circumstances. Sometimes I really need some Norma Jean to get me out of bed. It's very invigorating.

Cheese: my computer has died again, too. This time I think it's for good. I'll just leave it for a while, and maybe in a few months I'll look at a permanent solution. It's 5 years old, so there's still a bit left in it. If I can put up with turning it off at the power switch after 30 minutes of usage each time...

JS JS: I'm not sure which of the two I prefer, but I liked early Petra more than the music they had out when Stryper were with them doing the rock thing. I think I liked Greg X Volz more than John Schlitt. Petra has been around for many many years.

VFRR: you're not supposed to "lol" your own jokes! It was funny, but not self-lol-able!

Ronniblue: almost all of the shows you can win backstage passes for, (including the Aussie ones) but as far as I know, there are no "Premium Package" ticket thingies.

Fablawyer of SBM: That is pretty spooky when you think about it. Here's something else that is. Im in 11th grade and one day I was in chorus class. I sit right next to my buddy Dan and he plays guitar and we're pretty good friends. He is always saying how he wants me to teach him some stuff sometime. So one morning in chorus he goes, "Jake man you gotta hear this. I had a dream with you in it. We were playing guitar and you were teaching me a lick. But I woke up because my dad woke me up for school. After I got out of bed I picked up the guitar and played the lick you tought me in my dream." Thats weird. And it's a true story. Stuff like that is cool.
