Jazzzzzy, yeah but only a few live & in person like Joe for instance!!! Joe was/is a prince. The majority were phoners (Vai was) and that really kinda sucks but hey, better than nothing right!!!

I am actually trying to get back into it... But, only local stuff live and in person, no more phoners for this dude.... Unfortunately my advanced years limit me to now covering "classic" rock acts .... Once again, "Too old to rock'n'roll...... you know,

silent shady: My wierdness exceeds no other. I look like Mr. Burns, Frankenstein, James Bond, Ganja man and Jesus all in One.

And Vodka should not be for alcoholics like you. Stick to the beer.

mikesb: you should try interviewing Britney Spears. And do it on the phone. That way you can watch porn at the same time while talking to her. Should be sweet.

cool.

and kudos for interviewing Joe. Thats only a dream for the few million of Joe's fans.

Listening to Blew Powder by steve vai .... cool shit. I love how the song progresses.

Actually, I got confused. This song is not blue powder; its Erotic Nightmares.

Now I'm very very shy.......

i used to love drinking the Jägermeister. so many good things happend in so little time. ofcourse they were matched the next day by bad things. you know I'd ask for a pic jazy, but I'm kinda worried of what emotional scars it would leave.

Silent Shady: this is your mother speaking: "go to bed now!"

Jazzy: they're both great songs, but it took me a bit longer to really like Blue Powder. If I were to list my favourite Satriani and Vai songs, most of them would be Vai ones, even though I much prefer Joe Satriani. Sometimes Steve just really hits the spot.

artanis: blue powder takes sudden turns. It took me some time to appreciate blue powder, but I really like it now. Erotic Nightmares is just great. I think Satch has a tonne more that I call favorites.

Jazzzzy- what album is Blue Powder from?

Artanis- I'll hafta disagree, in that I much prefer Satch's songs to Vai's.

I don't know- Vai's are just not as melodic as Satch's- sure, they are awesome, and ther eis some real gold, but it just doesn't sound as ....'good'- hard to explain, lol...

P.S. Just changed my nick. from fictionised to [u]kendalslack ...:)

OoH! Almost forgot!

Joe, will there be 'premium' tickets or backstage passes for sale/giveaway (apart from the one you are giving to one member of each show through your site)?

Also, will you be making a DVD 'Down Under Tour' or something similar? That would be amazing!

Finally, will you be signing or anything at your Aussie shows, such as the Brisbane one in particular? ;)

Cheers!

Kendal.

Jazzy: What about Trumdumbalind off of the CP record? That was pretty wierd. I think Vai has odd song titles, because he sits in his back yard tiki hut/studio recording for days on end while starving himself. So, I think he's been living in a hunger induced halucinatory stupor for decades haah!

Steven Wild: I'm doing good man! I've been balancing recording, practicing, band practice and teaching lessons. I'm attempting to build up enough of a student base to avoid having a real job. I've given myself a year (now that I graduated college) to try to build up a full time student base.

962: I forgot something, the JS1200's also have dunlop frets (6101 I think) instead of the stop Ibanez.

ocps: oh yes, Trundrumbalind. Thats a wierd one. And I really wonder if Vai does any narcotics while composing music. Godsmack look like a bunch of heroine chuggers.

Haha- new? I've been here since 2002- just never posted much because I don't like the board system- much prefer phpbb or ANY php-based bulletin board, to be honest, lol.

One day, the webmaster (or so I like to dream) will upgrade the boards to phpbb or vb or ivb, or anything....then I will post like the sky is falling!

I have been drinking tonight. One year back, I was consuming 20 times more alcohol than I am today. In the past 6 months I've had alcohol less than 15 times. Before that it used to be over 25 times a month! I was not an alcoholic, but just loved to get drunk. I have had this bottle of Jim Beam for over 3 months now, and there is more than half remaining. I never even attempted to go this low on drinking. Today I am having a whiskey and coke. Feels good. I have been listening to slanshrooms music and dark tranquility. And I'm all by myself and its feeling great. But does drinking alone mean anything? For some reason, drinking with strangers in bars makes me uncomfortable. The only people I can drink with are close friends. Is it because I have come to a new place and I am taking a break from liqour? hmmm, intersteing stuff.

OCPS470, I think you got those bridges the wrong way around - the Edge Pro is on the cheaper stuff, with the Edge Pro II on the decent stuff, like Jem7's, JS1000 and 1200 and so on.

Yeah the JS100 doesn't have the same contours as the 1000 or 1200, and the neck is a little different but it's good. It's only got medium frets and not Jumbo, it has a coil-tap in the tone pot, but no high-pass filter in the volume.

Anyway, I was actually explaining the price difference between the JS1000 and the JS1200, but I can't remember who I was explaining to. oh well....hehe

js22, yeah I get what you mean....I'm not into Drive-By music either! haha. "Music to shoot pimpin bitches to available now in all good music stores"

Message to Joe SATRIANI

Dear Joe (Satch),

Actually Associate Professor and researcher in Strategic Management at the University of Montpellier 1 (France), and consultant in communication – infographist / illustrator several years ago, I am working on the project of a full-length animation film untitled “The cursed score” ("La maudite partition" in French). In parallel and in a passion way for the moment, I draw/write comics and play/compose music (guitar and singing).

Given the large place of the music in my project, I met the Artistic Direction of the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, who accepts to be partner in this venture.

Three guitar heroes named the “Scrapers” are the villains in this story. Each of them has marked musically a decade of the 20th Century (Guss the 70s, Snake the 80s and Moonboots the 90s). For most inspiration and celebrity, they signed several years ago a pact with Cronos, the master of time and music lover, stipulating that after taking maximum advantage of their glory they become his slaves for eternity. Prisoners in the harmonic space, they become renegades and find the way to escape from their master, by keeping Henri’s soul in the meantime of the alignment of the five moons. In a crucial moment of the story, I would like to confront in a musical duel the Scrapers and J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart & L. van Beethoven. This confrontation, based on velocity and precision of the musicians in different musical styles –Classical music vs Rock/Blues/Jazz/Spanish– with the use of two categories of instruments –Electric and classic guitars vs organ (Bach) / harpsichord (Mozart) / piano forte (Beethoven)–.

I am now looking for 3 famous guitarists to constitute the "Scrapers". I would like to work with you in this project and I turn to you to see if you are interested by playing musically one of these roles in a musical piece (representing roughly 20 minutes from the total time of the film) we will construct collectively in due time. This message doesn't allow to attach file. So, I can send you a synopsis and some drawings to have more details on the project. Thank you in advance for your interest. I look forward to read and meet you. Best regards Saïd YAMI 18, Chemin des Mages 34230 Saint Bauzille de la Sylve (France) (+33) 06 03 73 39 75 / (+33) 04 67 57 32 71 said.yami@univ-montp1.fr
