Hi Joe, hoping you happen to see this message..there is a T2J member here who is just very sweet, kind and tries so hard to stay positive and uplifting despite his health problems with continual seizures. His name is Steven Wilde. There probably isn't a single T2J member here who wouldn't love to hear something from you posted directly to them, including myself. But I'd like to ask if it would be possible for you to just write a quick message to Steven, just to cheer him up. I know it would mean the world to him, even if it's just a quick "Hello Steven" in blue!

Crossing my fingers that you happen to check in Joe and read this, and thanks very much...we are all very worried about "the Wilde man" and want only the best for him. Tracie

Mr. Satriani...I agree!!! You should encourage Steven to get better. After all, he did join the site for you and you alone. Personally, I don't care if you ever leave another message on the forum, as long as you leave one for Steven...This is all I ask...that if you were to only leave one more on the forum, it would be for him. I think all of us care about Steven and I would be sad to lose him...He's a good friend to all of us on this forum...

So Mr. Satriani...Please do it...for Steven!

Uhhh....The second post was an accident...computer trouble...lol!

guitarnut777, As you see, big bad moon posted my response to his question. here too, is the answer to his question on sound, and a little bit more to answer your question about trems.

yeah there's quite a difference in sound between the JS100 and the full-signature models. The 1000 and 1200 are just subtly different from one another, but they are definitely discernable from the JS100. The 100 has a pretty decent dual humbucker tone, and has good clarity when you use it's coil tap function, but lacks the power of the DiMarzios and the character. You can get harmonics out of it okay, but they sound a little clinical, whereas the DiMarzios harmonics all have their own character.

Also, the Fred in the bridge position of the 1000 and 1200 has an idetifiable nasal twang which makes it fairly unique in sound. The PAF Pro in the neck position of the JS1000 has a more straightforward humbucker sound and seems to be pretty loud. It's great for getting those cool, aquious smooth tones like you hear on "Hill Groove". The PAF Joe, it's replacement, in the 1200 is pretty similar, although has been tweaked so that it better suits the Fred. I'm not really sure of the noticeable differences....i think you'd have to own both and play them all the time to make use of the differences.

The trem on the JS100 is a cheaper, weaker design, and lacks the stability and strength required to use it properly. The massive price difference between the JS100 and the higher models is because of all those aspects listed above - they cost more.

scooba, yeah graduating music school will help a bit, but nothing is garuanteed. Making real money out of your music is still a matter of luck. And regards joe managing to sell his music - he's been doing it for 20 years, he started when there was just-about a market for it.
