962 Yeah I really thought that AIAUW was an energetic and emotional album, but as you say that's because the dude is a 'live' kinda guy. I also agree about Joe being on a roll, ITLIS the track is just awesome................ I mean the guy's got you hooked after 7 notes. I posted a while back about Joes current playing, for me the G3 in Denver record of him was just more alive and hard edged than LISF or the 1st G3. I didn't know whether it was because SV's band were so hot and Yngwie was such a force / presence on the tour. I personally think now that Joe was in the zone before the tour and the apparent extra energy that he had, he brought to the tour and didn't get it from the tour. It's going to be an unpopular comment but I thought that Yngwie totally kicked ass in the jam session - I'm not a huge fan, but to hear him apply his style to another genre was great - he's awesome but I can't listen to him for too long in one go. Mikey D is on the mainland working at the moment, I think he's home in about a week..............

Clarky Thanks man, I really appreciate the comment about the top priority being to enjoy playing, especially from someone as dedicated as yourself. I do enjoy playing, obviously there are times when I get frustrated but despite my limited time it's still one of the great loves in my life.

Time to catch up with some more posts.................

Danny K Nice to see you around again man, great track and great Evanesance cover. Congrats on baby No.3 (?)... you've been busy man, I remember No 2's arrival - lol

Matt King Great new track man, goo to hear that you're still plugging away at it. I posted a comment over at the COE forum a while back that you didn't respond to, I hope I didn't offend you, if I did I apologise man............... it was only my opinion.................... wouldn't be the first time that it got me in trouble. Peace man. :-)

SnowWhite I guess that you've been stuck between a rock and a hard place................ to be you or not to be you, which ever option you went for you would have been wrong. Hope that your move went well, we've just celebrated our 4th consecutive Xmas in a different house, so I know what a pain it can be.

Okay guys there now follows a VFR Announcement
962 The reason that the AT300AV went out of the window....................
Alexandre The reason that I won't be coming over to Portugal this year..............
Clarky The reason I will have less time to play this year....
................................ My good lady wife and I will be expecting a new addition to our family mid September-ish, and we're not talking about a puppy here - lol. So lots of overtime and preparation to come..................... but as ever it's all good :-)

Well I had my schools Talent Show yesterday and I won. It was the coolest night of my life. I played in the second half of the show and I was suppose to play after the intermission. One of the judges was a local musician who graduated for my school about 4 years ago and he plays acoustic stuff and he's good. Everyone in my school just loves this guy. So they ended up switching things around and now I was following this guy. I was nervious and excited for it. I was nervious b/c I was following this guy and everyone loves him. But I was excited to follow him b/c it got to show that my music is just as cool as that acoustic stuff. He really got the crowd going when he was playing b/c he was a suprise act and after he was done the crowd loved it. Then it was my turn. Now before each act the MC's put on skits and the skit before I went out was the MC's pretending they were me playing guitar. I was off to the side of the stage with my guitar on and one ot them would be on stage when the curtains opened and I would start to play and they would pretend to play. Then another MC came out with a guitar and pretended to play then another one did too and everyone thought the third one was me b/c he is my hight he wore my hat and had one of my guitars. He even fooled my mom and dad. Then I finally walked out and everyone went nuts. I played this guitar solo that I made up and when I was done with that I had to switch guitars for the next thing I was going to play which was House Full of Bullets. So I had 2 of my buddies bring out my other guitar which is a Satriani guitar and they unstraped my other guitar and put the Satch on my. It was so cool. Then I played House Full of Bullets with some backing tracks and tore it up. And I won. I had this whole section of people who were my friends, there had to be 50 of them and they would chant my name and stuff like that. They chanted my name when I won. It was one of the best nights of my life. And the 3 of the MC's were some of my best friends so that made it even better. And after the show a bunch of the kids who were in the show and a bunch who watched all went to get something to eat and when I walked into the resturant they all clapped. It was so cool. The best thing about all this is the ladies love a guitar player.

TheBob, if Joe pretty much sticks to his same set list he did for the Oct EWJS and the 2 he did in San Francisco, he will do If I Could Fly, but Why and Crushing Day weren't included. However, Joe might just surprise us...................ya never know!! I'm glad for you that you get to see this show, it absolutely ROCKS!!! We never wanted the evening to end....

if you go the the archives of the road section and click on the EWJS October link, and go to the show he did at the Keswick Theater, you'll see a set list....great choices!! Wait till you hear Sleepwalk and Starry Night after intermission, beautiful!! And he started the evening with Up In The Sky, so every time I put on Crystal Planet it takes me right back to those fabulous concerts!! He's gonna blow your socks off! :)

Hmm, post 911. which reminds me....

1963-1968 Porsche 911, the beginning of a legacy. Originally to be called '901', Peugeot had copyrighted '0' as the middle digit, so Porsche had to change it for a '1' instead.

Although it made no real sense to the rest of the auto-engineering world, Porsche decided to build their flagship car with it's engine mounted behind the rear wheels, but with a lot of hard work and effort they made it work. The flat, six-cylinder rear-mounted engine has been maintained and can still be found in the same place in Porsche's newest cars.

Only these days it's a bit bigger, and just a tad more powerful :-D More on that when the time is right

Suzie, I think Grade 8 is a great thing to be doing! hat's off to you! I should probably do some grades at some point, I just don't really have the self-motivation. I think I'll work on it though. Keep on practising, I know you're probably wondering what the hell you're doing at the moment, but after the exam you'll be pleased you did!
VFR, interesting what you say about Joe's live recordings....I thought on G3 96 he was on fire! But yeah, he was definitely on it for the G3 03 DVD. I personally didn't like Malmsteen at all, and still don't, but we can agree to differ! haha

Also, regards your excuse for not getting the AT300. Sorry dude, not good enough....can you get a refund on the baby? haha j/k. Congrats to you and Mrs Rocker, enjoy sleeping while you can! hehe.

962....can I call you Simon?? Hey backatcha!! Nope, we haven't talked much so you have no idea if I'm hilarious, talented or both.....how about neither?? :) Just trying to enjoy life and stay "young"!! My friends all say since I discovered Joe that I'm regressing back to my teen years, I say YEAH!!! It's too much fun to give up! So I guess they find me funny!! As to talented, ummmmmm, does being a mother to a TEENAGER count? I think it takes a lot of talent to just Survive, lol!! Maybe we should add on that there are some here with mental instability...THAT would be me!!! LOL! My kid has sucked all the "normal" brain cells out of me and left me what I am, a hollow shell of my former, pre-kid self!! :) But watch out, once he moves out (someday!) I'm likely to start running wild in the streets again!! Nice to meet you!

Civgeek, :( it would kill me not to have tickets yet to the show in Portland...don't know how you can stand it!! Actually, I do understand the financial pressures and responsibilities you face with supporting your family...I just hope to get the chance to meet you and your wife so we (you and I, not your sweet wife) can insult each other in person, lol!!! And enjoy this killer show!!

Steven, "Wildestyle"....I LOVE IT!!! Keep getting better and better!!

Stevee T, sometimes I just don't know what to say to you..... you have your own "unique" style!! Good mornin to ya!! :)

Suzie, :) hi back!! Hope your day is just fabulous!! I admire anyone who can play an instrument, especially piano or guitar!

Steven- Glad to hear you are feeling a little better, Matt keeps asking me to check the e-mails to see if you've written! Just glad to see you back here, speak to you soon when you're feeling a bit stronger! Thanks for the good luck wishes for the piano by the way! :-)

962- Thanks to you too for your good wishes- I am going to go through with the exam though, don't worry! Just hope I don't balls it up on the day!!!!

SteveeT- I wish I could listen to Vai's tracks, but my computer has no sound. We hoped we'd be able to buy a new computer once we moved house, but it has made us rather more skint than we anticipated, so that's on hold for a couple of months at least!!! I'll just have to do the old-fashioned thing and buy the CD from the shop LOL!!!

Cheese - Don't let the Guitar present fool you about my wife. She is a type A personallity that is still learning to filter thoughts before they come out her mouth. She has also picked up on the art of the comeback after being with me for the last 15 years. I am pretty sure I'll be there. Michelle said that she would even go to Joe's show even though it is not here genre af music. I guess she feels like I have been toenough knitting shops with her that we can go do something of my choice. :) Anyway off to stack firewood before rehearsal. Take care and see you in April.
