Cube Glad you liked it man :-) It's been nice to actually produce an end product from my noodling for a change!

Civgeek Yeah, I think that Joe has paraphrased Bird in the past................... for me dude I forgot to learn it, convinced myself that I'd mastered it and the forgot what I hadn't learned............ the end result is perfection I absolutely don't know it - How much more forgetting do you want me to do ? lmao ;-)

MariMari Nice to see you back again ! :-)

UAH E mail is an even better medium to get your point across Hint Hint Hint!. Using the board as a chat room has been a bug bear for different people for years......... Like Michelle says man, it's going to happen but not every night. No one is trying to tell you what to do, just raising your awareness of other people's feelings and giving you a chance to respect them. It would be cool if you could just turn the idea over and give it some thought. Peace.

ZenFish Good points, well made bro'. If the Occident is probably the cradle of the Harmony; if Orient is the cradle of dissonance; Africa is the cradle of Rythm......... that really stood out to me, I already thought of the Occident and Africa as the way you described them but your comment about the Orient really stood out. What hit me is that you are right, it is the cradle of dissonance but you never really hear that dissonance becuase it is so much associated with the style of music, so the ear has been retrained.

TASTEY, excellent! hehe, I'm a massive fan, I can't decide who is my favorite character....I don't think I can choose. they all crack me up in a different way.

Also, carrot cake rocks!

thechristmaspoo, You know, Joe is such a cool guy that he probably won't actually be offended by you flaming his forum format. But come on.....it's not that hard to use. It's actually a lot, lot easier to keep track of than a multi-thread, multi-board forum like you're used to.

Because it's easier to keep track, we also all still get to have lives! It's kinda cool...

zen - hahaa.... by mental capacity I mean: that these guys [no matter what their potential] were never given the education... they were kept down by the system..
most of the original delta guys couldn't read or write...
education was not really an option for them..

on the Mozart theme, check out the Prague and Jupiter symphonies... and also the clarinet concerto...
they are simply beautiful....

vfr - that's interesting because I also liken music to speaking another language... eventually you become fluent and say / express yourself as you wish...

and there's nothing 'mindless' about noodling... call it exploration

just wanted to let y'all know that i just finished uploading around 250 fan photos from the last few months. check 'em all out by clicking on the Photos link at the top of this page.

good to see the entries for the contest already coming in.

my plan was to just let people vote for their one favorite entry, but am thinking it might be easier for people to just go through and rate each one 1-5 so they can step through one at a time rather than have to read them all and remember which they liked best. if you have an opinion on that, post here, and make sure to include 'webmaster' in your post so i'll see it :}

toodles!

SteveeT - I started mentally sketching out some more lil' ideas for Space Time [the t2j2 track]

I was sitting on a train the other day heading into London...
I was staring out the window in a lil' world of my own and I started seeing images on the theme....
then I started hearing stuff...
so I went and got a coffee and a pile of napkins, borrowed a pen from the guy sitting opposite and started scoring out some of the lil' ideas...

I haven't had the chance to try it all out yet - busy as fuck at work right now so I've only touched a guitar once in two weeks...

however, the things going around in my head were sounding quite cute.... I think this one may be quite a pretty track..

mari - great to hear that you are on the mend - all be it a lil' slow.....

shit... you've met some serious people... I'd love to meet all those guys.. it'd be quite an experience I'm sure - I'm jealous.. lol..

had you had much of a chance to check out the CD???
I was wondering how it sounds now that some time has passed.. I know form personal experience that some stuff just grows and grow on me with time... and other stuff blows me away day 1... and then I tire of it...
so how are the Shredz tracks you have sitting with you?

I'm playing in Tokyo in April [22 and 23] - anyone who fancies turning up in Tokyo to watch me struggle through the DC set is welcome.. and I'll git wasted with all y'all after the gig... lol..
Zen - "the delta blues... without the Missipi's wind, almost all the modern music wouldn't exist"

oh yes.... with out any shadow of doubt......

the original delta guys planted the seed from which an entire forest grew.....

every bit as momententous as the great masters from previous centuries..

Yoda - I'll be interested to see how you create this neo-class work.....

if you want to give me a shout at any time... 2nd opinion... another pair of ears... of maybe you want another compositional perspective.. then calll... any time....

if you want.... bring your ideas to my place....
you create... I'll poke and prod...

i'm waitin to see a "vote for so-and-so for the interview" war to start here soon! lol you know how ppl tend to fall in love with bold/caps lock'ed text :)

oh, and michelle...i second that. but at the same time, i kinda understand that it might be a tiny group of people who all can't talk to eachother any other way besides posting here. there has to be some kind of fix for it though, cause i agree...reason i don't post much these days is cause there is so much to read through, hard to keep up. a lot of it being one liners between people, back and forth...though, i suppose that is why the chat room was indeed created if i'm not mistaken? to minimize conversation on t2j, makes it easier for joe to read through too! don't get me wrong, the site traffic and booming community is awsome, but it does get a little over done with the posting...maybe try the chat a bit more? just a though!

deathcube...i'll probably send chris peters a finished copy of my song over the next few days, so if you could mark me down, i'd appreciate it! song is complete, just doing the final mixes/masters.

clarky...how the hell you been? i never see ya on AIM any more...hit me up.

Marimari...i popped you mail not too long ago, all going well? Don't think i heard back from ya...

oh...and g3 live in denver...wtf is up with joe's tone? the jsx on "is there love in space?" sounded wayyyy different from the live tone on the g3 dvd...sounded like he had the wah pedal on the entire time. worked for starry night for the most part, until the end...to be honest, i wasn't impressed with the jsx amp myself when i tried it out. i never got a chance to pump up the volume though, so perhaps i'll give it another swing.

alright...back to writing more music for me...god it feels good to be back in the ol' swing of things! later...

Some of U2's new cd is lame - there are a few good songs on it. Overall, maybe a grade of B or B-.

Nevertheless, we are going to see U2 this summer in Chicago. My wife is a big fan and has always wanted to see them.

We are still fans, but every fan cannot like every song.

My favorite U2 stuff was in the early and mid-90s.

VFRocker - I forgot to learn it, convinced myself that I'd mastered it and the forgot what I hadn't learned - That was absolutely genious. I almost woke up the kids laughing. Got the SSHHH!! from the wife. The incorporation of what we learn into our playing is a huge topic. I really think that most people don't do it.

Michelle - The skimming skill I have developed here is to know who's posts you can skip. If it looks like a chat, I'm pulling the side bar down. So if I don't respond to one of your posts... Just kidding!!

VH1: On Wednesday, 02 MAR 2005 at 11:00 PM EST, VH1 will debut "The Fabulous Life of Mötley Crüe". In 1980, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Vince Neil were just four guys living in a trashy apartment off the Sunset Strip. By 1987, they were rock gods who could afford to trash anything they wanted. From their personalized tour jet to their vintage guitars to their all-access groupies, nothing was off limits to Motley Crue. If you think bling, Gucci and Maybachs are Fab - think again. Meet the four metal maniacs who invented rock and roll fabulous.
