Estrela : It's not just you. I have a pretty good command of English slang, but I have *no idea* of what Wolf2 is talking about ;-)

Steven WIlde: Do you find that maintaing as regular a sleep pattern as possible helps in minimizing the seizures? My friend has them more often when he stays up late.

NammMan: Get the "Live in Astoria" DVD...it's $20 or less, and it's a great showcase of a wide range of Vai material. Killer cover of Hendrix' "Fire" on there, too.

Steve T/ Civgeek: I would assume that the Earvana nut compensation (if that's not a straight line for a joke, I don't know what is) that ESP uses is similar to the Buzz Feiten system?

962 Ahhh, but of course, for a Cubase expert what else would the super powerful comp be for ? lol. I used to average about 7 kps d/l speed at work on dial up, it sucked :-)Your teaching as well man ? How long have youi been doing that ? How do you structure your lessons ? Thanks for the info on EJ's Live and Beyond, that explains a lot.................. it also leaves me with a lot more to put on the wish list - heh heh. Enjoy the last of the weekend bro' :-)

CivGeek Daddies little girls have them twisted round thier little fingers from the very start and no mistaking. I've just got back from my folks and spent 1/2 hour twisted round in the front passenger seat so that my little girl could hold my hand, she was upset from being tired................... pins and needles down my arm and my back was killing me but that little warm hand in mine made it all worth it.

ZenFish Okay dude, enough with the links already - lol ;-) Nice upgrade and extra 10.5 minutes of looping, cool. I used to use mine as a sketch book, a really good way to find out 'what if?' As for a purchase ? Well not for a while I think.......................... as long as people don;t put temptation in my way too often - heh heh.

Jazzy I might have to check some of that stuff out man. My tips for you, and anyone else..................... dude, please check out Ron Thal aka Bumblefoot over at bumblefoot.com, the guy is an original........awesome guitarist, great songwriter, good voice and absolute nutcase, I know that you'll dig his sense of humour..................... and for sheer, technical skill, amazing mixture of genres, awesome production..check out Dave Martone at davemartone.com. Seriously man, these guys should have a lot more recognition than they get..........check out the sites and see what you think :-)

estrela I love Rush, Geddy Lee was my musical hero from the late 80's onwards, major talent. Me and my Brother saw Rush last year on the 30th Anniversary tour, amazing to see a band that has been together for that long and still have the energy and passion for the songs that they must have played so many times. Great to see the acoutic set in there as well. I've got to say that the audience reaction wasn't quite as wild as the Rush in Rio DVD - lol. My favorite 'lost' Rush song has got to be Lakeside Park off All the World's a Stage....................ahh memories of childhood. Apart from that there are too many good songs to pick a favorite and too many different reasons to like individual tracks........ maybe the bass line, the guitar solo, the drum fills, bass fills or the lyric. Fantastic band, they have never been big in the UK but the tickets for thier gigs sold out straight away, not bad after 30 years. And of course your son is the best.... because he is your son. :-)

jazzzzy, "amazing selection of the EJ albums"...I know! haha. He is the daddy, and I love how he is so modestly oblivious to the fact he's the daddy! Bristol Shore and Emerald Eyes are awesome tracks, as are Zap and Pavilion. Oh and......hehe. All his tunes rock as far as I'm concerned, I can't wait to hear his new record, it's going to be very interesting!

Do you have Alien Love Child: Live And Beyond? If not, it's really worth getting, as is Electromagnets.

estrela, things are good thanks, how about you? Hope your weekend has been good. Regards artwork and getting it in the fan art section.....I don't know, I thought jazzzzy had sent his alternative ITLIS? cover, but maybe I'm mistaken!
VFR, sorry for extending your wishlist, but I promise it's for a good cause! haha. I've been teaching since the beginning of November. Actually, since the 11th of the 11th......I'm not a freak, I honestly only know that because of the date! hehe. So yeah, not long, but i got 17 regular students and it's going pretty well, so I guess I might be doing something right?! haha.
[b]Joe[/i], I was looking at the artwork in the CD-liner of Strange Beautiful Music earlier, and was wondering what the bottom-right-hand-corner photo is of? Its the one below-right of the shot of Matt with the pick on his forhead, and immediate right of the shot of you on the phone. Is it a solar eclipse photo, per chance? And who took it?
1970-1971 Porsche 930. This was the first evolution in the 911 story, and the 930 was the first model range that got the addition of Turbo power. From the late 70's onwards, the turbocharged flat six at the rear of the 911 became commonplace, and the 911 Turbo is still the flagship of the 911 road cars. It has also, since the 930 era, formed the basis of many succesful race-bred incarnations of 911.
Oooh, Michael Schumacher failed to finish the Aussie Grand Prix! It wasn't a bad race, although I was annoyed about Alonso jumping Coulthard and Webber to take 3rd. This could be an interesting season.

Hello Joe, its my first time on your website and I have been a great fan of your music for years. Are you ever going to be doing an acoustic album with guitars and banjos etc?. Unfortunately I missed your performance in Glasgow 2004, I had tickets but the dates coincided with work commitments, heard it was a great blast, hope to see you in the near future, all the best. eeiano

estrela: I agree. That news got me very mad. I cannot believe such a thing happened. RIP Nicoli. God is watching and will serve them best. As for the artwork, I did send in the "alternate" ITLIS cover but it got rejected because it was not original. Well, I'll keep trying :)

Tastey: I saw you on the vai forums. You are tastey again? jesus....

Brother Al: I saw you on the vai forums. You are brother al again? jesus....

962: I did send in the Joe Mama ITLIS thing but the webmaster said it needed to be original. Oh well, that doesnt mean I cannot post it here. As for EJ, unfortunately I dont own any albums, which sucks, but I still have the songs. Now I'll leave it up to you to figure out how I got those songs. hehe.

peace bro.

Here is some Joe art that didnt make it in the art section. Well, but that doesnt mean they cannot show up on here >:)

Do The Stu- I will watch ebay close. I am willing to pay the price! I picked up "The Beautiful Guitar" for $64.00!! I thought that was reasonable. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Estrela- Thank you for the congrats. I have been working on some things I have of Joe. To start out I have a poster autographed by Joe. It is the front picture of "The Beautiful Guitar." I am going to frame that with all his CD inserts together. I have a Guitar Player mag. front cover from 1995 autographed. When Joe was in Milwaukee last Oct. I was one of the after show winners. I had my tickets autographed along with the after show passes. The night before I went to an in store appearance and got my Ibanez guitar signed. That was EVERY special to me because it was the first Ibanez I bought due to an interview I read in a guitar mag. with Joe and Kirk Hammett talking about there Ibanez guitars! I was kicked out of my residents because I spent the rent money on that guitar!! I was young, I survived!! It was well worth it! When I meet Joe in Oct. I was able to hand him my 2 CDS of guitar instrumentals and talked a little about my music and how much respect I have for him. It was such an honor to meet him!! I know I don't post alot but I want everyone to know I am a true fan of Joes. Because of him I keep going with my music to reach my goals.

I bought three CDs recently , Vai's new "multilayered menagerie of vignettes" ( somebody tell me what that means, please... LOL) is not bad. He's closer to Zappa on this one than ever before. I could do without "Firewall", but the rest are OK. I'd be exagerating if I said that "Lotus Feet " saves the CD, but without it, it would be a bit too weird as a whole. As for, the performances, Billy is great, Jeremy proves that he can shine too, especially on "Under It All", Steve the same old same old and since Tony is not mentioned, he must be a helluva Keyboard player too- somebody clear me up on this...

Priest's Angel Of Retribution is very good , there's a little bit of everything on it, so most Priest fans should find at lest a song they like. Bottom line, the songs are good ,strong, written in a more traditional (retro) style. Rob Halford is still No. 1. , he's "aged " voice is still spinetingling. I got the double sided disc, which has live footage and interview on the DVD side ( beside the 5.1 mix of the entire CD !) It was only $4 more , so it's worth it.

The third CD I bought is Derek Sherinian's Inertia. It's good but not great. I like the songs with Luke but not the ones with Zakk. Oh, well. Ironically it was the most expensive of the three.

SupaaDave Congratulations on your new daughter. I remember the day my daughter was born, just like yesterday. Now she is 11!

xtrchessreal Hope you find the sollution to the RFI. Cool about your EE degree. I wish I could finish college. Most of what I know I tought myself from reading books, 11th and 12 grade electronics class, and a semester at community college.

I used to work in a two-way radio shop, about 1 1/2 years (I actually got my commercial FCC General Radio Operator License about 2 years ago!), before starting my electrical apprenticeship. I could not find another job in the radio field without moving away, so it was be an electrician, or stay a security guard for $8 per hour.

What I meant about Audio being lower freq than RF was in reference to using a coil in line with the speakers or input wiring; both the audio signal from the guitar and the RF carrier are electromagnetic, the guitar audio being lower freq than the RF Carrier.

For a toroid coil, normally you can just wrap the individual wire through it several wraps, like a circular candycane. Wrapping both the signal and ground through the same toroid is bad practice, because of the canceling affect from parallel wires. if they use unshielded wires inside the amp for signal, either replace them with shielded wires, or wrap the one you think is signal through a toroid.

If you have two AC (alternating current) wires side-by-side, like a lamp cord or speaker cord, the opposing flows of electrical current tend to cancel each other because they are mirror images of each other, but have a subtractive quality (12 volts -12 volts for example).

Side by side is good for DC wiring however, because of the RF canceling qualities.

My 2 cents worth :>)
