On some of the VH comments.

I have seen them 5 times, twice with Dave and three times with Sammy. The 5th time was this past fall, in Sept. or Oct. don't remember the month, in Seattle at the KEY Arena. It was the worst I have ever seen of Edward. I was very, very disappointed in the show. Edward has completely lost it. His playing was get by at best. He was drunk stumbling around, and even tripped and busted his ass. He landed flat on his back. I doubt I will spend the money to see them again. I now know why he doesn't want to appear at a G3 event, and with good reason.

Is there a list of possible interviewers to be voted on, with the interview with Joe. I believe its in Austin's neck of the woods??

Death Cube: I hope I didn't offend you with the DCK Tracy comment, with my attempt at some humor with the Snowwhite issue. If I have, I apologize.

ViNsTeR,

If you want a taste of what this track sounds like, joe sent me the ep a few years ago, so I put up a snip of it on my collection site:

http://roo.emu.id.au/Satch/JoeEP.html

It's old AIF format, but Realplayer still plays it ok. Sorry, can't give you the whole track... Copyright and all that.

Cheers, Roo

I did some more digging through the archives... I saw two VERY cool Luminous Flesh Giants shirts... Click here...

Does anyone have one of those?

Flashlight - Hi... Yeah, you did ask me for a CD...but you must have misunderstood something that I said, because I don't have a CD. ;-) Don't worry about it...it's all good. Talk to ya later...

michelle - "Remember the cool little spot on the EOC page set-up where random little pictures we sent in from the shows would appear in the upper lefthand corner."

Yeah! I loved that part of the page...

Steven Wilde - Hi... It's going good over here...it was nice to finally have a weekend where I didn't have much to do. I only had to work at the newspaper for 3 hours today...LOL. If only every day's work went by that quickly...
DelfinoPie - "Want revenge? Dress her up in a stupid outfit, like a bear suit or a clown suit...then take a photo wait 15 years then post it to all of her friends ;-)"

LMAO! That's cruel!

big bad moon 1889 - I absolutely LOVE The Mars Volta.
SL3 - That song was probably Searching, from Is There Love In Space?...
GODGUNSGUITARS - I saw Van Halen in August, and Eddie was amazing. I guess his playing ability is related to how much he is (or isn't) drinking. I've only seen Van Halen that one time, so I'm glad it was an "on" night for the band.

Yeah, the interview thing will happen before the webcast of the show in Anaheim. Entries will be accepted until the 15th (go to the main "Interact" page to enter). Voting will run through the end of the month.

...Austin...

My Allans Music/Joe Satriani experience

Right now, Joe is exchanging words with, and signing memorabilia for his fans at the city Allans Music store in Brisbane, Australia. However, I am not among them because I was summarily booted out.

My objective was to document Joe's meet-n-greet session in its two-hour entirety. In anticipation of his arrival, I positioned myself close to the podium which was crowned with an aura of Ibanez JS guitars.

Joe's San Francisco DVD was playing on a widescreen, and the line of fans was long, but not overwhelmingly so. Chatted with a few folks up at front, including the security guard. Happened to mention Dimebag Darrell and what, how and when it happened, and how I still miss him as a guitarist and fellow human.

After a moment, I moved back and out of the way and began to write a list of questions to ask Joe, when one of the guards came up to me and asked me to leave my bag near the entrance. We walked over, where there was another guard standing with a grim face. He was soon joined by a third, who began interrogating me as to why I am there, where I'm from, what do I do, why am I jotting notes and so on. Realising what was going on, I fully co-operated with their requests and allowed them to go through my bag. Then the manager of the store came up and asked them who they thought I was. They said "he seems to be just a fan", to which he told them to kick me out. All eyes were on me as a guard escorted me out of the store and down the escalator.

It has been one of my most humiliating experiences ever. While I can understand why they reacted the way they did, I am disappointed they didn't give me a chance to even stand in line after establishing I wasn't a dangerous lunatic out to harm Satch. I have been waiting over 10 years for a moment like this, only to have it stolen from me so callously. Still, I'd rather give that up than see any harm come to Joe. Losing Dimebag has been horrible enough.

I hope to see you in the future sometime, Joe. Thanks for all the wonderful melodies and inspiration you've given us, and I hope I will get a chance to convey these regards to you in person someday.

Much love,
Jason

G'day Joe

Hope everyone's treatin you right in the land down under.

Got any vegemite yet? Good for the vocal chords, just smear a bit around the adams apple before you go on stage. :)
Better than viagra to, just smear a bit.... hmmmm... maybe not.

I just heard about the Allans thing, cool. Sort of deja-vu. Thinking of playing (like in Melbourne '96) or just signing?

Anyway, I was glad to hear about it as I didn't want to risk taking the record you sent me to the concert, what a complete stroke of luck it was that day and I'll be in Sydney anyway with a day off! Awesome.

Hopefully I'll see you on Thursday at Allans. Thanks again mate.

Roo

PS. Kevin still around? And who's touring with you? Stu and Jeff? Sorry if I'm a bit behind the times.

Thanks, roo, it's much appreciated. I'm trying not to let it get to me, but that's easier said than done when the last two months had me brimming with joy and anticipation at finally being given a chat to see one of my gods in the flesh.

Regards,

Jason

Edit: just read roo's latest post which answered my query.

Strat7, hoping to, but like you I just find out where he might be and hang around for a few hours in the hope to catch a glimpse of the man that is the legend.

Hope I recognise him... :) LOL he hasn't seemed to have aged, but maybe that's his stunt double in the photos...

I'll see if he'll sign a spare copy of Engines for me (I have heaps) and I'll send it to you ok?

Namm Man : yes, that sucks big time. However, I get the impression Allans has held this dismissive attitude towards their customers for quite a while. I've visited the store for over eight years now, and have noticed many occasions where the staff are curt, uncaring, couldn't give a damn, etc. not just towards me, but other customers as well.

I cannot really blame them for pulling me over -- I gave them what could be viewed as valid reasons to be concerned. What I am not impressed with is how they kicked me out without a second chance, or allowing me to defend myself.

Roo : thank you so much! EoC is one of my favourite Satch albums, and a signed copy would be a precious jewel in my collection. Please e-mail me your details and I shall pay you for it and the postage, etc.

TOALL: OKay, I did some research for you guys....I tried out the Peavey Wiggy amp. It has WAY too many knobs that do essectialy the same thing (EQ wise). Maybe if I had this thing to play with for a month I could find some cool tones, but all in all, this thing is a flaming turd of an amp haha! I sounds like a farted out overdrive pedal, but has zero sustain to it...blahh!

SupaaDave, nothing like parenthood... and pee running down your leg that isn't yours. lmao!! As for siblings, they can be a nasty bunch, especially when you're the youngest...like me... *pokes boo-boo lip out* lol!

jblaze, hiya honey!! We miss you here! All your hard work will pay off bro. Keep your nose to the grindstone and your fingers away from the engines moving parts! lol! Good luck and keep in touch :)

Stevee, remind me when it gets closer to the time. I feel the same way about lingerie. lol! Why bother? lol! You're out of tequila?? Are there no Sunday liquor stores where you live?? I just found out that the store a few blocks from here is now open Sundays from 12:00 to 5!! Now I don't have to drive across town to pick up my Smirnoff or Captain Morgan if I run out Saturday night! lmao! :)

jazzy, do a search for Napolean D. and check out the actor who plays him. He's a cool guy who they permed out and geeked up with glasses and the clothes. I saw him a while back on The Tonight Show I think. I saw the movie once, and in all honesty, I wanted to punch the guy. That's just me though. lol! Errr, wasn't Stevee just talking about peace?? Maybe if I'd see it again I'd like it better, but it was annoying. Some parts were funny, and the pictures from the movie are funny, but it gave me the creeps to sit and watch it. lol!

powerslave, "You need your strength to fight off the bats and spiders. ;-)" Dude! That ain't no joke man! The season is rapidly approaching and the spider stories *shivers* will soon start. Either way, I'd take bats and spiders over cock-a-roaches any day! lol! We had them when we lived in the city, and it's one of the reasons we moved OUT of the city! lol! And remember...bats are just hamsters with wings :) lmao!!

Alexandre, if your body got a little smashed, that means you had a lot of fun! lol! It's still pretty cold here. I'm not looking forward to the heat because we get so much humidity sometimes. I actually enjoyed this winter and didn't mind the cold to much. Hope everyone is well in your world. Hugs to everyone :)

mari, hope you're feeling better. Also hope Weiner comes through for you.

Austin, I bought the shirt from the '95 - '96 tour from the show. I tried to buy the LFG shirt online when I joined the site, but had no luck. There was a phone number in Cali. to order them too, but I could never get through. I would love to have that one! Don't have the TM shirt either.

Hello to all my peeps!!
