Joe,
Thanks for an absolutely awesome show at the Enmore Theatre, Sydney, Australia on 16 March 2005.
It was a real pleasure seeing you again after all these years....last saw you in 1990 on the 'Flying in a Blue Dream Tour'.
I have to say your show is absolute value for money. Not many performers do a 3 hour show for under a $100 Oz.
The only downside to your show was that you didn't play 'Rubina' or 'I Believe'. I absolutely love Rubina as it is played with such emotion and passion...I guess any song written for the one you love would be!
Joe, when are you going to bring the G3 Tour Downunder??? I know the promoters in Oz aren't the best, but you have to twist their arms, so that we can see the likes of yourself, Vai, etc.on stage together. One other thing, any chance of you doing a G3 tour with guitar gods such as Clapton, Knopfler and Page???
Thanks again for fulfilling my wildest dreams....now what does a loyal fan like myself have to do to score a guitar pick in concert...twice now I've missed out.
Please come back to Oz soon...I hate a long time between drinks!
All the best
Dave

We didn't make it to the curry house I'm sorry to say, we left the pub at 11...ish and for some reason walked within a few metres of the curry house before turning round and pissing round in a deserted 'green' type area.
We then walked what felt like 2 miles to a place where we sat at a Bus stop (by this time it was about quarter to 12...)...then went halves on a pizza (aka I spent fuck all on a pizza and blagged it :-P)..THEN...walked yet another mile or so to another green where we had a few people go home, leaving 3 of us...who went to the childrens play area to play on the swings...and the round about (BAD IDEA)...then me and my friend realised we had another 2 mile walk to get home...he's crashed on my couch right now and I am pissed...but can type quite well lol...
We sat in a spot by the bar on two massive leather couches...within spying distance of all the nice arses as they ordered drinks...lovely....
...same time next week...
Delfino
[edit] other relevant matters...got into an argument with some gobby fat-bitches goin into a chip shop, almost fell in a river while having a piss, completely fucked my knee up from running, jumping and then clicking my heels in mid air and landing wrong...
Theres always some guy who pretends he's drunk who then realises how drunk everyone else is and then tries to act responsible...who told me to go home...lol...when I'm drunk I'll admit it, if you tell me im drunk on the other hand ill tell you to fuck off lol...strange

DCK: Eat pop slop's avatar on the megadeth boards is the bumblefoot guitar, so he probably is into bumblefoot (and hopefully buckethead). btw, the megadeth boards are full of shitheads (no connection to eat pop slop).

dear joe satriani (for who i hope is reading this)
i went to the show in sydney on the 16th, that was amazing. The performance and fluency. For about 2 years now your technique has inspired my playing almost completely, i thankyou for that. Soon i will play surfing with the alien as my peformance for my school certificate.
I don't know if you remember me, but i was one of the the first people in line to meet you at Allens music. I got you to sign my flying in a blue dream album as that album was the first i had bought(my inspiration). I had told you that you were an inspiration, and that you were more of an inspiration to my late uncle. I was shaking in prescence, and bascially cried after i left the store
All i have to say now to you mr satriani, is thankyou......
Iknow you probably wouldn't, but if you coul, i would be flattered if you emailed me. whydoyoubugme@hotmail.com

i know how u feel mate, my heart was pounding a million
miles n hour when i shook hands with joe,
aswome guy eh,? a great human ,
well i think he's from another planet personally or an angel of
some kind brought here to give oithers hope,
ie like my story with my mum etc, i think if joe hadnt come down under when he did i would have jumped off a cliff
with all the crap ive been thru latley, but sieng joe play, and meeting
him just briefley was more than any fan can ask for.
I think joe no probably realizes how greatful and dedicated the aussie fans are when it comes to music and his in partiular.

Stevee, c'mon now, "takes you out on the piss topped off with a curry" isn't dinner & drinks. You have dinner & drinks with a new date. You go out on the piss topped off with a curry with your mates. This not for the faint of heart (or stomach) and they'll be no Nancy's involved! lol!
Namm man, "Where can I find the official or unofficial translation guide to english slang humor? " HA! Right here on T2J!! lol!! You'll learn fun words and sayings like "how's tricks", "trainers", "old git", "on the piss" and all sorts of other piss related phrases, non of them having to do with being angry, "wanker", "footy", and the list goes on. Their language is somewhat like ours, but completely different :)
Yoda, what the hell, man!! You need to take care of yourself better than that! Rule #1 bro, you can't take care of anybody else unless you take care of yourself! Get some rest, cut back on some stuff, and take it easy. Life's to short to burn it all up so fast. That was indeed a wake up call. I'm so glad you're alright.
Delfino, "almost fell in a river while having a piss" lmao! Reminds me of a time back in the day when I almost rolled down a mountainside poppin' a squat to relieve myself. lol!
coolshredder, very nice story. Welcome to the site.
Is anyone watching thr R&R Hall of Fame? Buddy Guy done got the Satriani shine on his head! No more gerry curl! Damn, they're not showing enough of the Bo Diddley jam band! Very cool show! It looks like they're showing it all over again in case ya missed it. It's on VH1.

well for some one who 3 months ago thought they would not even get a chance to have a tiny glimpse Joe when he visited Melbourne, i think i've done fairly well for myself. at the meet and greet yesterday i got a signed photo with myself and Joe and also my Engines of Creation Cd signed. and let me tell you people who haven't seen Joe in real life he's even cooler.
i managed to get myself into the concert even though i'm 16 when the gig was for 18+ and it was *%#$in mad. couldn't have asked for anymore. Even my dad liked it (so it had to be pretty good!).
I got a pic (not Joes but it could be the rythum or base guitarists-a see through yellow Jim Dunlop end is slightly snapped off) if any knows who it might have belonged to
email me at mark079@optusnet.com.au. i found it on the floor near the end of the show.
Once again, Joe you are the greatest,
